[Bug 874365] Re: Desktop is zoomed in right after login. It looks like the resolution drops and I'm able to see one fourth of the desktop at a time. View area moves with mouse.

2014-05-19 Thread TheMechanist
I can confirm this bug as well. The settings seems to be default since I
experienced it after a fresh installation of Trusty.

This bug also game me issues after I upgraded. I don't think it's an
invalid bug. Something is setting the zoom by default and should be
looked into.

Maybe others should also check this bug affects me so the developers
will know it isn't just me who has seen this problem.

Just want to share this same bug effected me on a new install on a
Lenovo T60p. The Unity and Gnome classic were fine, but when I switched
to GNOME at login it was zoomed by default on a new install

Thank you for reporting this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

Please open System Settings and click Universal Access. Is the Zoom
switch turned on?

Yes, it was switched on. After switching it off the desktop works as
expected. Having it on by default after installing gnome-shell package
seems to be a little weird.

No, zoom isn't on by default. An alternative way to activate zoom is by
clicking the accessibility icon in the top bar (the one that looks like
a man in a circle).

I'm going to go ahead and close this bug.
