[Bug 875344] Re: Compiz not working properly

2012-02-28 Thread Chauncellor
Hi, William. Unfortunately, this bug report is three separate issues.
Please level this down to one issue per report.

The first report you describe is intentional behavior and is a wishlist
item. If you wish to speak about this behavior, please contact the
Ayatana mailing list.

The second and third reports are legitimate, but, again, need to be
separate reports.

There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the
bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates.
Compiz, in particular, is in heavy development and this bug may have
been fixed in the development version of Ubuntu (12.04) if not on the
current 11.10 release. If you are able, it would be of great help if you
could confirm if the bugs still exist by testing a livecd (available at
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/). If you test it and the
issues still persist, please report new, separate bugs on the issue.
Please keep in mind that the development version (12.04) is not suitable
for daily use - please only use it for testing purposes.

Thank you for your help and patience.

Could you please follow the instructions on
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Unity/FilingBugs#Getting_a_stack_trace and
attach unity.log to this bug report?

[Bug 875344] Re: Compiz not working properly

2011-10-19 Thread William Ranvaud
Yes sir I've attached the unity.log file.

But I had some trouble following the steps. I've done what I could
because this problem happens all the time and is annoying. Here's what
happened:

I've installed the debugging symbols for compiz and unity but there was
no debugging symbols for nux.(apt-cache policy nux - N:unable to locate
package nux)

Then I did the advanced debug until the [ and when compiz/unity crash do...]
At this point nothing happened for a while then the computer was unusable and I
had to restart.

So I ran valgrind and will attach the result.

Hope there's something that can be done out of this info.

[Bug 875344] Re: Compiz not working properly

2011-10-15 Thread William Ranvaud
** Description changed:

  Compiz has strange behaviours:
- -When triggering the scale windows, all windows show up including the ones
minimized (they should only appear when we ask to scale all windows)
+ -When triggering the initiate window picker, all windows show up including
the ones minimized (they should only appear when we ask to initiate window
picker for all windows)
-After waking from suspend, when you move a window with the mouse, the window
has a delay compared to the mouse. This disappears when you check or uncheck
any option in compiz (compiz seems to restart and solve the problem)
- -When trying to change some settings in compiz (adding or removing one
option), the top bar of windows, the unity launcher and the main bar
disappears. Sometimes the keyboard also becomes unresponsive.
+ -When trying to change some settings in compiz (adding or removing one
option), the top bar of windows (window decoration), the unity launcher and the
main bar disappears (ubuntu unity plugin). Sometimes the keyboard also becomes
unresponsive.
I'm able to reproduce the problem.
