mr2131, package maintainers should be aware of the bug to repack it. I
don't know when it happens. Something can be read here:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/HowToTriage

Don't know if it helps, but it's possible to extract the ffaudio.so
library from the old package and copy it to the appropriate directory
and then try to play the WMA file again.

What version of Ubuntu do you have, i386 or amd64?

Some other issues:
1) Audacious is pretty outdated in Ubuntu repositories;
2) Audacious site has some problems.

I think I I'm using the i386 version. Is there any way to check?

I know. I went looking for an updated version, but it looked like
their site hadn't ever really been properly finished, and it certainly
didn't appear to have been updated in recent memory.

mr2131, it doesn't make any sense, but seems like being possible.

Let's compare the filelists of audacious-plugins packages in natty and oneiric:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/natty/i386/audacious-plugins/filelist
http://packages.ubuntu.com/oneiric/i386/audacious-plugins/filelist

The latter is missing '/usr/lib/audacious/Input/ffaudio.so' library,
which seems to be the FFmpeg input audio filter probably used for
decoding WMA and other specific formats.

It doesn't seem to make sense.
