[Bug 902075] Re: [Realtek ALC888] Playback problem
In 11.04 you could still set Gnome 2 as default desktop. This only changed in 11.10 where Gnome 2 is not available anymore. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/902075 Title: [Realtek ALC888] Playback problem To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/902075/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 902075] Re: [Realtek ALC888] Playback problem
No. I do not like the unity desktop, particularly the big buttons on the left hand side that cannot be permanently removed so I will not be updating to a newer version. The only thing I can do to restore the sound is to close the application and reopen the file. The problem has only arisen recently. Everything used to work fine until a couple of weeks ago so it looks like an update may have caused it.
