Oops, I did not test the bug since the last Gnome update (now 2.18.0), and it seems to be corrected. So I have closed the bug on Gnome Bugzilla (I should have test it again before opening actually... lesson learned!) I have launched the command alsamixer, but I am unsure of what you mean by if it is listed or not. What I can see is: Under Gnome in the top "bar", I have a small icon for the sound. Hello Daniel, By upstream, do you mean Gnome? Because, I have tried to check on the Gnome bugzilla for a similar bug but I did not find one. As a drawing is worth a thousand words, I have attached here a screenshot (actually an assembly of several screenshots) showing before and after the suspend/resume events with a small snapshot of the power history of the Gnome Power Manager. You shall notice that eventhough in the "after state" the sound is displayed as mute, it is not.
