[Bug 910672] Re: [REDWOOD] dell U2410 monitor repeatedly turns itself on and off when suspended

2013-08-19 Thread Tim Cuthbertson
Apologies for not updating this ticket. I've been running fedora for the
last few releases. The fedora bug
(https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=714334) has been fixed for
a while now.

Given that it originally occurred on both, hopefully it's just an an
upstream fix that ubuntu will get if you've merged xorg-x11-drv-ati,
version 6.14.3. I'm afriad I can't test it out though, as I no longer
run ubuntu - perhaps one of the other affected users can test?

[Bug 910672] Re: [REDWOOD] dell U2410 monitor repeatedly turns itself on and off when suspended

2013-08-18 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Tim Cuthbertson, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an
issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development
release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications-Accessories-Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p linux replace-with-bug-number

Also, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available following
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional
upstream developers to examine the issue. Please do not test the daily folder,
but the one all the way at the bottom. Once you've tested the upstream kernel,
please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is
fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For
example:
kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.11-rc5

This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next
to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please
remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

As well, please remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's
Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your
understanding.

[Bug 910672] Re: [REDWOOD] dell U2410 monitor repeatedly turns itself on and off when suspended

2012-10-01 Thread Tristan Verniquet
Broken for me with Dell U2410 and Juniper XT [AMD Radeon HD 6000
Series].

Note there was no problem when using the display-port cable. I have only
noticed it since switching to hdmi. Another difference is that
previously Ubuntu would detect that there was only one monitor (ie my
other monitor) if the Dell U2410 was switched off, and would move any
open windows onto the remaining monitor. Since switching to hdmi this
does not happen.

2012-02-26 Thread Vlado Plaga
Sorry for not having supplied a lot of detailed information on versions
used last time - it was just the default Ubuntu 11.10 packages of the
moment. I did have the same problem in Debian unstable though, but now
it disappeared, and my monitor goes to sleep all right. Some versions:

X.Org X Server 1.11.3.901 (1.11.4 RC 1)
Release Date: 2012-01-06

Linux version 3.2.0-1-rt-amd64 (Debian 3.2.6-1)

[Bug 910672] Re: [REDWOOD] dell U2410 monitor repeatedly turns itself on and off when suspended

2012-02-03 Thread Vlado Plaga
I have the same problem. I don't think it's good for the monitor, so
I'll disable power saving for the time being.

My monitor is a DELL P2411H (from Xorg.0.log), and the X driver is
Radeon. The monitor is connected via the DVI cable. I don't have the
problem when I use fglrx, the proprietary AMD driver.

Searching the Redhat bugzilla I assume the equivalent bug is this:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=714334 (the link in Tim
Cuthbertson's bug description is missing the id)
