I haven't had that problem with the application menu not showing for a while now. The difference might be that I am using 1. Newer hardware with much greater processing amd RAM capacity; or 2. Later versions of the operating system and software. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. I have just noticed it happening in Sound Juicer 2.32.1 this morning as well.
