I was aware of what I was saying and would be responsible for it. There are also quite a few crash/freeze reports over Fedora and Ubuntu forum. Even if this only happened with ATI, it is still considered a bug and moreover, I gave a fix. I also edited the #1. I forgot to mention I was using open source driver of ATI. ** Description changed: GNOME Shell 3.2 PinguyOS 11.10 (equal to Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric) + ATI HD 4250 (open source driver) How to reproduce: Just use the default theme that comes with GNOME Shell + Open dash and type something very fast How I solved this: delete all transition-duration in gnome-shell.css in the according theme that I use. Sorry, but PinguyOS is not the same as Ubuntu 11.10. If it were, there would be no need for PinguyOS. If you're getting crashes, perhaps try without the extra extensions PinguyOS uses. I'm closing this because I can't duplicate with my Intel drivers and it's not clear whether your crash affects Ubuntu.
