apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected oneiric

** Description changed:

I have a functional bluetooth adapter, phone and headset but scanning
via the Gnome gui or Blueman app shows no available devices. I have
managed to to manually connect the devices with much effort. I have
confirmed this problem on both Ubuntu 11.10 (work) and 12.04 (home).
Hopefully the following information is helpful if there is anything else
I can add please let me know.

[Bug 942051] Re: Bluetooth Scan Does Not Show Available Devices

2012-04-17 Thread Morgen
The bug is reproducible in that I have never yet been able to find a
device by scanning. However I only have one usb bluetooth dongle to test
with so it might be related my hardware but I can connect so the
hardware is at least partially functional.

I tried to run the command 'sudo hcidump -XYt $HOME/hci.log' as
requested by apport-collect but my system indicates that hcidump is not
a command. I guess I do not have all the hci utilities installed, anyone
know what package this is in? Thanks.

[Bug 942051] Re: Bluetooth Scan Does Not Show Available Devices

2012-04-16 Thread Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Please answer these questions:

* Is this reproducible?
* If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug?

This will help us to find and resolve the problem.

Please also execute the following command, as it will automatically
gather debugging information, in a terminal:

  apport-collect 942051

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-
bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this
functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.
