This is working fine in Hardy and I believe in Gutsy too.

[Bug 97611] Re: gcompris crashes on choosing tuxpaint from menu

2007-07-24 Thread Jordan Mantha
I'm setting this back to Confirmed. I changed the tuxpaint dependency
from a Suggests to a Depends so tuxpaint will always be available.
However, this should really just be a temporary solution until we can
get at the root of the problem. If people have experienced hangs or
crashes when starting tuxpaint from within gcompris when tuxpaint is not
installed, please add comments to this bug so we can narrow down the
problem. Specifically please give us the Edubuntu and gcompris version,
and if you were in fullscreen or windowed mode when you had a problem.

[Bug 97611] Re: gcompris crashes on choosing tuxpaint from menu

2007-07-23 Thread Jordan Mantha
gcompris (8.3.2-1ubuntu1) gutsy; urgency=low

  * Merge from Debian unstable:
- Drop configure.in changes as they are integrated upstream
- keep s/gnuchess/gnome-games/ in Build Depends and Suggests
  * Move tuxpaint from Suggests to Depends (Closes LP: #97611)

gcompris (8.3.2-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream release.
  * New sound packages for Greek and Serbian voices.
  * Make -dbg package depend on binary:Version for binNMU friendliness
(Closes: #430103).

[Bug 97611] Re: gcompris crashes on choosing tuxpaint from menu

2007-06-23 Thread Jordan Mantha
It doesn't crash from me but it does hang. Tuxpaint is a Suggests
dependency, so it shouldn't just crash.

[Bug 97611] Re: gcompris crashes on choosing tuxpaint from menu

2007-05-30 Thread Ace Suares
I can confirm this. Gcompris hangs and if you have started it full
screen, as is the default, you're in for a alt-backspace or alt-ctrl-del
measure.

However, if you, from the command line, do

sudo apt-get install tuxpaint

all your worries vanish. Apparently, tuxpaint is not installed by
default, just like gnucap and gnuchess, which you need for two other
items on the menu.

So, right after installing Feisty 7.04, the best thing to do is
\
sudo apt-get install tuxpaint gnucap gnuchess

Cheers,
ace
