Ugh, i see another issue, switching dash to full-screen mode does correctly prevent shifting the background. Unmaximizing it makes the background black. Ok, based on Trevinho's words in #ubuntu-unity the bug with black screen background upon dash restore was in earlier unity too. Reverted unity to precise proper and see it to. Same problem here. The background of the dash is shifted down a few pixels in fullscreen mode. Im using the stable 12.04 release (updated yesterday).
