[Bug 994688] Re: Xorg crash
Hi Daniel, It would be great if you try to follow the steps which Marteen asked to do. I cant do it since I dont have another system which I can use to remotely login to affect system. Hi Marteen, Inside xserver when you try to run gdb does not work all. Not even pressing ALT+F1/F7 to switch from x-window to text based window and even this text based window hangs. It is my bad that I dont have another system which I can use to remotely login to affected system. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/994688 Title: Xorg crash To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/994688/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

If you are doing it from inside the X server itself, the first thing attaching a debugger does is stopping the program to be debugged. Since that's X, it wouldn't surprise me if that's why it locks, since it would need X to draw updates before you can see the output.
