Hi Brian,  It seems to be working now.  And I don't know what 'lspci -vv'
and 'lspci-vvn' is.. Sorry and thanks foor your help.

Hi Mikael, Ubuntu seems now to boot fine connected to the LAN or otherwise.
However I seem to be unable to turn on the wireless. I will have to do more
research into this (missing driver?.   Thanks for your help.

This might be bug #63418. Can you  verify that the computer can boot
when wireless is turned *on*?
