*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 54273 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/54273 To add information to the bug, one of the devices that doesn't get recognized on boot (inifinite console messages) is a Maxtor USB2 DVD 16X R/W unit. The device does get recognized and is usable from gnomebake, brasero, and rythmbox after boot, but I especulate that the crashes I've seen on those are due to the USB problen. I don't think that the model number for the DVD unit will help, but I can provide it.
