It is true that I had to manually download the driver. It is still
"experimental" and not released into the repositories yet.

It works, and I have been waiting for a year and a half for a driver that
works properly. So, I can take the manual install!

it was years ago!

Got openSUSE 11.1 running fine now, with audio, so have to pass on Ubuntu.
