[Bug 254974] [NEW] Segmentation fault in emacs22-x
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: emacs22 Hi, I get a the following error when I run emacs22-x: $ emacs22-x Fatal error (11)Segmentation fault Since that is my default emacs, it also happens when I run just emacs. I also get it when I turn off the .emacs and site file loading: $ emacs -q --no-site-file Fatal error (11)Segmentation fault I started noticing it after an update yesterday, but I didn't notice any emacs packages in the update. I think there was an x.org update for Intel Graphics cards, which I have so it might be related to that. Oddly, I do *not* get it when I run emacs with the following command line options (which I found when I typed it by mistake): $ emacs -nw - In that case, it starts in text-mode, and says Option `-' is ambiguous in the message bar. If I run just emacs, it says it on the command line and doesn't start: $ emacs - Option `-' is ambiguous emacs -nw without the - seg faults. $ emacs -nw Fatal error (11)Segmentation fault I'm running Description:Ubuntu 8.04.1 Release:8.04 I have run apt-get update and apt-get dist-upgrade before reporting this. And I have no problems with emacs22-gtk, which wasn't installed when I first ran into the problem, but it worked fine when I installed it. [Bug 254972] [NEW] 8.04 Misidentifies Wirelesscard
Public bug reported: 1. Ubuntu 8.04 2. NA 3. This may get a little long winded, but bear with me. I have been trying to get the wireless to work with my Lenovo R61e Thinkpad (it works now) and when I typed into terminal lspci my wireless card was identified as an AR242x, but Windows identifies it as an AR5211...at least it got the driver manufacturer right. This has caused so many problems when I tried to get my wireless working...I have a thread that is 8pages long on ubuntu forums here http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=873980 if you would like all of the code and information, at the end is a guide to get on wireless with an R61e Thinkpad so that other users will not have the same issues that I did...about page three is where it actually starts after I installed a fresh load of ubuntu, some of the old madwifi drivers just wouldn't quit haha. So, bottom line the Terminal said that my wireless card was an AR242x when it was in fact an AR5211 card. I don't think I'll get in hell after death, because of using proprietary software (i'm an atheist anyway) I don't see any reason why Adobe should not want to collaborate with Canonical. It's quite simple to get it - people bother with Ubuntu and Free Software, because they want freedom, and that is their definition of it. If Adobe wants to collaborate with Canonical, Adobe must make their software Free. If Adobe makes non-free software, Canonical won't collaborate with Adobe. [Bug 254978] [NEW] A wish: Include packages for Panda3D graphics engine
Public bug reported: This is a request and wish, not an error message. Panda3D is a graphics engine for 3D rendering and game development. The library is written in C++/OpenGL and it provides both Python and C++ programming API. Python is the recommended programming language. About the license: At Wednesday 28 May 2008, the Panda3D development switched to the BSD license. However, since the release was still using the old license, it has not been officially updated yet until the next major release of Panda3D. Study: http://www.panda3d.org and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panda3d Currently Ubuntu does not include ready-made packages and we have to compile it from source code or use some old packages. So please, include Panda3d in Ubuntu's repo. See: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=45667 (note: Moma's posting on page 2 shows how to compile it and create a .deb package) See: http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/3856/promote/ (a brainstorm request) I will help with anything you ask, but I have no experience or capacity to maintain the packages myself. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- A wish: Include packages for Panda3D graphics engine https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/254978 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 254980] [NEW] Calendar displays appointments/meetings at incorrect times
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution evolution 2.22.3.1-0ubuntu1 on Hardy does not use the correct timezone when adding calendar events or displaying reminders. My timezone is set to America/New_York (-0400, currently in daylight savings). This is confirmed with 'dpkg-reconfigure tzdata'. Evolution preferences are setup to America/New_York. Output of date: $ date Tue Aug 5 09:41:48 EDT 2008 $ date -u Tue Aug 5 13:41:50 UTC 2008 If I am in 'day view' of the evolution calendar, and I double click on the '12pm' time slot, the Appointment editor dialog displays the time as '4pm', but the Appointment editor dialog shows the timezone as 'America/New_York'. It doesn't seem to make a difference if I choose another timezone, the times are always wrong in the appointment editor. Interestingly, if I double click '12pm', the editor shows '4pm', then if I don't change the time at all and save the appointment, it shows up in the calendar as '8pm'.
