[Bug 794916] [NEW] initscript wrongly sets --script-security

2011-06-09 Thread Alexander Zielke
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: openvpn

The openvpn initscript wrongly sets --script-security 2 on the command line to
handle backwards compatibility, even if script-security is specified in the
config file.
This Bug is only triggered, if openvpn starts multiple daemons. If the first
daemon started does not have script-security in its configuration, the
initscript sets script_security but does not reset it for subsequent daemons.

Tested with 10.04, but the bug is present in 11.10 aswell.
I attached a patch that fixes the problem.

Thanks, please let us know if after the upgrade you still have a

[Blueprint server-o-hadoop] Provide Cloudera Hadoop packages (CDH3)

Blueprint changed by James Page:

Whiteboard changed:

  first pass packaing done in ppa. needs to be checked for archive
compatibility
  questions over quality of packaging.

  Target: CDH3 for 11.10

  Cloudera are recommending java-[oracle|sun]
  Would need to be validated on OpenJDK to be in the archive
  CDH3 has issues running on OpenJDK (tested by fedora on openjdk6 OK, doesn't
run in openjdk7)
- * If requirement on [oracle|sun]jdk is real and hard, then Partner or PPA
repo is probably the best we can do
- * Else, if we can get a commitment for help getting Hadoop working on
OpenJDK, then we can and should target Ubuntu Universe
-

OpenJDK, then we can and should target Ubuntu Universe
+
  In order to determine if we need to work on putting CDH in Universe or main,
we need to work on how we can add visibility to modules in orchestra
- - who controls the list?

@pklaus

thanks. At this point, replacing informative python backtraces with
pretty error messages is not a goal, but if you'd like to provide
straightforward patches I'll apply them.

[Bug 792746] Re: package eucalyptus-java-common 2.0.1 bzr1256-0ubuntu4.1 failed to install/upgrade: Unterprozess installiertes post-installation-Skript gab den Fehlerwert 1 zurück

2011-06-09 Thread Scott Moser
I think I see a way that this could have failed. If there is no
/var/lib/eucalyptus/db when the upgrade is started then I think the
postinst will fail this way.

So, I have 2 questions
a.) did you have data that you were expecting to be ugpraded? Ie, was this
more than just a test?
  If so, can you give output of 'find /var/backups/eucalyptus/'
b.) is there anything that you may have done that might have caused a funny
state prior to upgrade?

If you're just looking to get through the upgrade, I think you might be able to
do so by:
  sudo mkdir /var/lib/eucalyptus/db
  sudo apt-get -f install

It would appear from the dpkg terminal log that you do not have a Clamav
config, perhaps you removed it?

If you're sure that you did not remove /etc/clamav/clamd.conf, then this
likely is a bug, and please say so and change the state to 'new'.
Otherise, I think the error is giving you fairly good advice. (run

[Bug 794978] Re: libvirt fails to start on ubuntu 10.04

2011-06-09 Thread Scott Moser
Where did you get the libvirt 0.8.8 package for 10.04 ?
The version of libvirt in 10.04 is 0.7.5-5ubuntu27.11
(https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt).

From the error message that you've given, I would guess that the newer
libvirt needs a newer kernel, or other dependency that isn't there on
10.04.

I'm marking this Won't Fix as we don't really support newer versions
of software.

If I've mis-diagnosed this, please do re-open the bug stating why.
Alternatively, you could request a backport of this version of kvm to lucid
(https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuBackports).

[Bug 793749] Re: bacula-director-mysql and bacula-director-pgsql have db server packages as a requirement

2011-06-09 Thread Andrey Gusev
Yep, I am using this repository, but bacula-director-pgsql requires
`postgresql` package which is virtual for postgresql-8.4, so removing it
breaks dependencies. Yes I am using my own package with corrected deps
now, but I think users should have an option to select database server
(even use their own compiled into /usr/local =) without messing with
their own packages.

[Bug 784797] Re: [Natty] freshclam.conf has invalid characters and cannot be parsed

2011-06-09 Thread Scott Moser
Thank you for taking the time to help make Ubuntu better.

I apologize for not understanding. However, I'm not able to reproduce this bug.
On a fresh ec2 instance (i386), I've tried:
$ sudo apt-get install clamav-freshclam

No errors occur on installation.

$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure clamav-freshclam
# select 'daemon'
# select 'db.local.clamav.net'
# do not enter a proxy (just tab to 'ok')
# use the default '24' times per day
# take default 'No' that freshclam should be notified after updates.

I do not see any errors, nor do I see non ascii characters in
/etc/clamav/freshclam.conf.

Could you provide some more information to help us reproduce the
problem?

changes:
- debian/control:

  * set ubuntu maintainer
  * Build-Depends:

  * libvirt-bin Recommends: move qemu to Suggests
  * libvirt-bin Suggests: add apparmor
  * libvirt0 Recommands: move lvm2 to Suggests
- keep debian/libvirt-bin.apport
- keep debian/libvirt-bin.cron.daily
- debian/libvirt-bin.dirs:
  * add apparmor, cron.daily, and apport dirs

[Bug 795315] [NEW] unknown protocol speaking not SSL to HTTPS port on apache2 reload/restart

2011-06-09 Thread Forest
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: apache2

After enabling ssl on my apache2 installation, doing an apache2 reload
or restart produces messages like this in the error log:

SSL Library Error: 336027900 error:140760FC:SSL
routines:SSL23_GET_CLIENT_HELLO:unknown protocol speaking not SSL to
HTTPS port!?

These are explained here:

http://wiki.apache.org/httpd/InternalDummyConnection#SSL_Considerations

Simply reordering the Listen directives in /etc/apache2/ports.conf
solves the problem. I'm attaching a patch.

[Bug 795336] [NEW] dovecot-postfix always overwrites main.cf

2011-06-09 Thread Tim White
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: dovecot-postfix

Every upgrade of dovecot-postfix overwrites the main.cf postfix configuration
file removing some of the users customisations.
It is expected on initial install for this to occur (although a warning even
then would be good), however according to the postinst it is not supposed to
overwrite the config on upgrades.

It was noticed on a previous upgrade as well as one done last night.
Thankfully, as I use etckeeper I was able to rollback the changes it
made without any problem. To confirm it was dovecot-postfix I did apt-
get install --reinstall dovecot-postfix after restoring the correct
config and it again overwrote the main.cf. The problem seems to be in
the snippit of postinst below. The POSTFIX_BCKFILE's do exist, however
the check for the file not existing occurs AFTER the backup file is
moved to the dated version. It appears that maybe the mv should be a
copy, or the test for not existing should be changed.

For the issue I reported above, I believe this is a bug. There are two checks

[Bug 795358] [NEW] vmbuilder script fails on deploy/cleanup

2011-06-09 Thread Richard Cottrill
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: python-vm-builder

Originally attached to bug #562189

I believe this is a bug. There are two checks
for pre-existing VMs, and they differ:

[Bug 795366] [NEW] virsh save may fail under load on natty

2011-06-09 Thread Jamie Strandboge
Public bug reported:

This does not affect Oneiric or Maverick. It seems the combination of qemu and
libvirt in natty causes this problem. Upstream bugs:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=678548
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=672725
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=678524

It appears that redhat had a fix to help with this in:
http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHBA-2011-0596.html

And a fix for qemu in:
http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2011-0534.html

Finally, https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=678548#c7 gives the
commit (in 0.9.0) to also fix this issue. I have not investigated this
heavily, but discovered the issue when running test-libvirt.py in QRT.
Since natty is released and not an LTS, I am not sure how worthwhile
this is to fix. I have disabled the save/restore tests in QRT for natty
for the time being.

[Bug 794851] [NEW] Exit Full screen mode Problem

2011-06-09 Thread Pratik Patel
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox

When I press F11 to exit full screen mode in Natty Narwhal with Unity 3D, I
can't see Dash or top-most panel,
I mean when I press F11, I certainly exit from Full screen mode but I can't see
any thing on top of New Tab ([+]) button, I mean I can't have title bar with
Dash, that's why I can't minimise firefox or close it, or I even can't even see
launcher.
This happen after a long time of Full screen Browsing.

2011-06-09 Thread Zero
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 649809 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/649809

This seems to be related since symptoms are exactly the same:

There seems to be a way to workaround the issue stated un the page
bellow and also this seem to be related to this bug report in
particular:

[Bug 734798] Re: nvidia-current gifs no video in videoplayers

2011-06-09 Thread Yuji Yamagami
Exact same problem here : Ubuntu 11.04 unity, Graphics card GeForce 8400
GS, nvidia-driver-173

By accident, I found that by running NVIDIA Xserver setting, right click
on the NVIDIA icon on unity menu bar, and mark it as Always show is
enough to have the same effect as running the same program from system
setting. This is only a workround, but in effect, I can watch videos
immediately after login without running the xserver setting thing.

Hope this helps.

[Bug 794855] [NEW] Sync gdmap 0.8.1-2 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2011-06-09 Thread Stephen Kitt
Public bug reported:

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA256

 affects ubuntu/gdmap
 status new
 importance wishlist
 subscribe ubuntu-sponsors
 done

Please sync gdmap 0.8.1-2 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
All the patches new to the Ubuntu package have been imported in the
updated Debian package.

Changelog entries since current oneiric version 0.8.1-1.1ubuntu2:

gdmap (0.8.1-2) unstable; urgency=low

  * New maintainer (Closes: #594406).
  * Switch to source format (3.0) quilt:
- Drop dependency on dpatch.
- Drop 01_gtktooltip.dpatch, unused.
- Drop 02_gtk-disable-deprecated.dpatch, unused.
- Import 03_manpage.dpatch as manpage.patch.
- Import 04_deprecated_GTK.dpatch as gtk-widget-macros.patch and
  handle GTK_WIDGET_SET_FLAGS as well (Closes: #621983).
- Drop data/gdmap.desktop, intltool-extract, intltool-merge and
  intltool-update (they are generated during the build).
  * Simplify debian/rules using dh 7 and autotools-dev.
  * Correctly load gdmap's icon, and avoid printing an error message if
the settings file doesn't exist (Closes: #579043).
  * Use link to specific GPL version in debian/copyright, and update
copyright dates.
  * Add ${misc:Depends} dependency since we're using debhelper.
  * Add watch file.
  * Remove the obsolete Encoding directive from the desktop file.
  * Import patch adding new file types from Ubuntu.
  * Standards-Version 3.9.2, no further change required.
  * Convert debian/copyright to DEP5 format.
  * Reduce dependencies by linking with --as-needed (thanks to Stefano
Rivera for this and other suggestions!).
  * Fix grammatical mistake (as suggested by Lintian).
  * Wrap and sort dependencies.
