[Bug 646724] Re: not all files show up in files-place
Some files opened from that folder and below do show up. It is the project folder itself that cannot be retrieved through the file lens. In some cases, there is a need to organize related files in folders. Easy access to the folder would then be a benefit. The Files Folders lens could be very useful to easily retrieve folder just by typing part of the name. Working on different project, it is not always practical to remember the exact name of a document (e.g. meeting reports), so one wants to see the folder. Another issue with how things currently work. There is a subfolder with pictures. Once you've been looking at the pictures, the search term for the folder causes the lens to be flooded with these pictures. Retrieval of e.g. word processing documents using the folder name as search term then becomes very cumbersome. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/646724 Title: not all files show up in files-place To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/646724/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 547139] Re: mountall tries to mount NFS filesystem before statd starts
I have this problem on Natty. On most boots, nfs shares never mount unless I do it manually. Based on the error messages produced when mountall runs, it looks like the problem is that nfs mounting is done by /etc/init/mountall-net.conf, which runs on net-device-up, but would need to run after statd is fully up and running in order to reliably mount nfs. I see an upstart script called statd-mounting.conf that might be useful here. [Bug 643289] Re: idmapd does not starts to work after system reboot
I agree with Steve's analysis; the NEED_IDMAPD check here is redundant. I have actually considered moving the rpc_pipefs job's contents directly into the idmapd and gssd jobs since the current start condition of rpc_pipefs makes it significantly less useful to have it as a separate job, but haven't gotten to it yet. But that current start condition in natty and above should not have races that allow idmapd to start before rpc_pipefs is mounted. It may be that backporting the current rpc_pipefs job to lucid, to ensure that we block *both* gssd and idmapd until rpc_pipefs is mounted instead of only blocking the first of the two which tries to start, would solve the problem Leonardo and Steve are having. I haven't done this yet because it's not a complete solution for the issues with idmapd (see comment #1 regarding the changes needed in mountall to go with this), but provided /usr is not a separate filesystem, it may be sufficient. BTW, calling grep, mount, and rpc.idmapd from the script block is definitely wrong, as this job is 'expect fork' and upstart will wind up trying to supervise the first forked process instead of rpc.idmapd. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/643289 Title: idmapd does not starts to work after system reboot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mountall/+bug/643289/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 804188] [NEW] Removing dconf leaves dangling symlinks: run-parts: failed to stat component /etc/cron.weekly/dconf: No such file or directory
Public bug reported: /etc/cron.weekly/dconf is just a symlink on /usr/bin/dconf which is not removed on package removal. So if you just remove the package but don't purge it, you will get weekly mails arguing: run-parts: failed to stat component /etc/cron.weekly/dconf: No such file or directory Please either a) remove that symlink and make a shell script out of it which first checks, if /usr/bin/dconf exists and only then calls it, or b) remove that symlink in the postinst script on removal already. I'd prefer a) as it's the cleaner way. ** Affects: dconf (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/804188 Title: Removing dconf leaves dangling symlinks: run-parts: failed to stat component /etc/cron.weekly/dconf: No such file or directory To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dconf/+bug/804188/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
