[Bug 923676] [NEW] /usr/lib/dovecot/deliver: invalid option -- 'n'

2012-01-30 Thread Daniel Holbach
Public bug reported:

From http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2011-October/061554.html

I have the following error when i am sending an email to my email server
postfix + dovecot.

#5.3.0 x-unix; /usr/lib/dovecot/deliver: invalid option -- 'n' Usage:
dovecot-lda [-c config file] [-a address] [-d username] [-p path]
[-f envelope sender] [-m mailbox] [-e] [-k] #SMTP#

The problem occurred after i upgraded my server from ubuntu 11.4 to
11.10.

11.10 upgrades dovecot from 1.2.x to 2.0.x; as a result the -n flag is
no longer accepted by dovecot-lda; You can fix this by removing the -n
flag from the postfix configuration;

 sudo postconf -e mailbox_command = /usr/lib/dovecot/deliver -c
/etc/dovecot/conf.d/01-mail-stack-delivery.conf -m \\${EXTENSION}\

[Bug 923744] [NEW] smbclient messaging not responding to control-D

2012-01-30 Thread MarkieB
Public bug reported:

sharing is working properly from My computer to the windows 7 computer
generally, I transfer files from Nautilus without difficulty;

however when I try to smbclient -M to the windows 7 computer, that has
winsent Innocenti LAN messenger, winpopup compatible, although no
msg.exe – replacement for net send – in system32, so as far as I know
windows 7 home premium is thus capable of receiving messages although
not sending them, it initially connects then seems to ignore the
control-D 'end of message' code, it's as though smbclient itself is not
responding. There is no sign that the control-D action is at all
recognized in smbclient. A control-C works, naturally without sending
the message though.

Before I installed Innocenti the smbclient -M command was refusing to
connect/prompt for a message at all, so it looks as though the windows
side of it is working at least basically.

Re: [Bug 569757] Re: NIS upstart dependency broken for lucid

2012-01-30 Thread Clint Byrum
Excerpts from Jeremy Yoder's message of Fri Jan 27 17:22:47 UTC 2012:
Thanks for working on this! Once you get Oneiric/Precise working, are
you planning to fix this in Lucid? Lucid is still going to be around
for a few more years :)

I will discuss it with my fellow SRU team members. I think its worth
fixing like this, and the patch is straight forward enough. But changing
from sysv controlled to upstart is a rather radical change so some users
might not appreciate the change.

If nothing else, I will make sure to setup a backport PPA just for
lucid.

This is due to the absence of the policy.json file in /etc/nova/ . This
file is included in nova-api package but not in nova-network. Coping the
file to the nova configuration directory solves the problem. I am using

[Bug 924002] [NEW] [Lucid] dbg package symbols are not provided for latest autofs packages

2012-01-30 Thread Leonardo Borda
Public bug reported:

Latest debug symbols for autofs5 (5.0.4-3.1ubuntu5.1) are not provided through
ddebs.ubuntu.com.
Also when downloading the source packages and forcing debian packages to
generate ddeb packages it does not generate symbols for /usr/sbin/automount
which makes impossible to debug yp_lookup segfaults.

No. EVM is now upstream. There is room for trusted boot work,
especially as a demonstrable, better, and more flexible alternative to
the uefi-based 'secure boot'. But this list is not right. Particularly
for a useful server solution, I'm thinking it might be better to wait
until after LTS. I will be taking some time to meet with the involved
people, however, to get a clearer idea of current status. --Serge

[Bug 924105] [NEW] integer out of range errors for fact_values

2012-01-30 Thread James Troup
Public bug reported:

Our puppet infrastructure recently ground to a halt as all nodes
errored out while trying to compile their catalogs with errors like
this:

| err: INSERT INTO fact_values (created_at, updated_at, value,
fact_name_id, host_id) VALUES('2012-01-31 05:00:47.693719', '2012-01-31
05:00:47.693719', E'Tue Jan 31 05:00:47 + 2012', 29, 88) RETURNING id
| err: Could not retrieve catalog from remote server: Error 400 on SERVER:
PGError: ERROR: integer out of range

We ended up working around this by shutting everything down and
running the following as postgres:

| ALTER SEQUENCE fact_values_id_seq RESTART; UPDATE fact_values SET id =
DEFAULT;

[Bug 913833] Re: dcraw and ufraw need to be updated

2012-01-30 Thread apinunt
Based upon the wiki and Dave Coffins web site, the latest stable version
is 9.11, Oct 7, 2011 and provides support for the Canon SX30 IS and
Canon EOS 600D which several of my friends and I had purchased a while
back, and as dcraw is a tool used to accomplish work, we are quite
anxious to see it updated so we can get back to work. The 8.99 build is
quite old now, and it appears that even Ubuntu 12.04 plans to keep it.
This is quite disconcerting for those of us who moved from MS Windows to
a Linux OS in order to reduce the problems which prevented us from doing
our work.

[Bug 896603] Re: plugin-container keeps running

2012-01-30 Thread Rolf Leggewie
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/Mozilla. If you have done so,
please tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can
add a bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.

I'd say this bug is even more serious than what you described because as
you can see from bug 635023 that left-over process quite often consumes
considerable resources.

[Bug 923625] [NEW] [Fixed]Block migration fails because it uses to much memory

2012-01-30 Thread David Weber
Public bug reported:

Till libvirt version 0.9.8-2ubuntu6 block migration was not usable with
large images because the full image size got allocated in memory.

How to reproduce (Need two servers):

Short description:
1. Start a block migration
2. Watch if VIRT and RES memory increases substantial

Long description:
1. Create a new virtual machine with a bigger raw image than memory; don't use
qcow,qed... (virt-manager for the lazy)
2. Create on the second server an image on same the path with the exactly same
size
2.1 use 'ls -l path/to/image' to geht the size in bytes (first server)
2.2 'touch path/to/image' to create a new image (second server)
3.3 'truncate --size size in bytes from step 2.1 path/to/image' to set the
image size immediately if the fs supports holes (second server)
4. Start the virsh console on the first server: 'virsh --connect=qemu:///system'
5. Start a block migration 'migrate --live --copy-storage-all --persistent
--undefinesource --verbose name of the vm qemu+ssh://ip of the second
server/system'
6.Enter the ssh password
7. The process oom's because it allocates the full image size in memory (Can
take some time depending on your disk speed and memory size)

Note: This is fixed in 0.9.8-2ubuntu7. This bug is just for tracking the
changes.

[Bug 918580] Re: System Settings 'User Interface' name is bad in 12.04

I personally think that the Launcher icon size should stay in the first
tab (if it's staying in the Appearence settings and not moving to
Universal Access) as it doesn't actually change any behavioral aspects
of the launcher.
