[Bug 1200878] Re: Upgrade breaks existing pyjuju deployment
I don't think this is strictly a bug in 'juju-core', more of a bug in the packaging. (Namely saucy has a package named juju which is a meta package that installs juju-core, while IIRC python-juju is no longer available on Saucy.) If this was just 'apt-get upgrade' I would probably agree it shouldn't break things. If it is apt-get dist-upgrade then it isn't terrible. The one thing we could consider is that juju status with juju-core could notice the environment is python-juju and fail with a nicer error. Unfortunately the new requirement of a certificate means we don't even get far enough to read the bootstrap-verify file in provider storage. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to juju-core in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1200878 Title: Upgrade breaks existing pyjuju deployment To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/juju-core/+bug/1200878/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1202839] Re: qemu-bridge-helper missing from qemu-kvm or elsewhere
It is great to have the qemu-bridge-helper binary though if someone like me does not want to use libvirt. With a note in a README in /usr/share/doc/ signaling the suid or cap_net_admin was missing, it would be more useful than just removing the binary. In quantal, adding the right permission was easy. In raring I had to take the binary from quantal distribution (hopefully the binary and linked libraries are compatible). So please consider to add the binary again in some package since someone could easily install the package and add the permission to qemu-bridge- helper if one wants to do it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to qemu-kvm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1202839 Title: qemu-bridge-helper missing from qemu-kvm or elsewhere To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu-kvm/+bug/1202839/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 990129] Re: Suspend/Resume hangs and fails - Ubuntu 12.04LTS
Just to add some more information - This is not just limited to Suspending. If I perform a Suspend once, my laptop will also not power off correctly - It will go through the power down sequence, and then hang when the shutdown terminal displays Powering Off, and will sit there forever until I manually power down the system. So, this means that I'm able to suspend successfully once, and then unable to perform any other ACPI functions without having to manually power off and power on my laptop using the hardware buttons. Can the rest of you confirm whether you are able to successfully power off after performing one suspend? [Bug 515865] Re: Wrong Fallback Video Renderer playing MPEG4(NUV)
Your NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS is an NV40 series card and has a VPE2 video decoding engine. According to the VPE2 details in the Nouveau Wiki at http://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/VideoAcceleration/ * MPEG4 and H.264 decoding is not possible via VDPAU. * MPEG1/2 decoding is possible via VDPAU but is not implemented yet. * Only MPEG1/2 decoding is possible via XvMC, but you will need a Kernel 3.11 and mesa-git. The good news is that you don't need any firmware. * To use XvMC, you need to point your /etc/X11/XvMCConfig at the libXvMCnouveau.so library (single line with the full path). The under-development Ubuntu 13.10 currently has the 3.11.0-2.5 kernel, which is based on the upstream 3.11-rc5 kernel. If it doesn't already have a new enough version of mesa it probably will by the time of it's final release in October 2013. If you want to install the 3.11 kernel on an earlier Ubuntu release, you can get it in a PPA from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ and instructions on how to install an uninstall it are available at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds You can install the latest mesa on an pre-13.10 versions of Ubuntu by using the xorg-edgers PPA at https://launchpad.net/~xorg- edgers/+archive/ppa So it looks like your original MPEG4 use case is not possible via GPU hardware acceleration, although I'm not sure why xv-blit is not producing any images for you. Sry Christopher, but that missed completetly what happend. apport do not detect the problem and the var/crash/ folder is already completly emty. A recreation do not trigger any apport action.
-- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1202839 Title: qemu-bridge-helper missing from qemu-kvm or elsewhere To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu-kvm/+bug/1202839/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1213353] [NEW] Software Updater requires installation of untrusted packages
Public bug reported: Software updater tells me it requires installation of untrusted packages. It says, This requires installing packages from untrusted sources. But it does not tell me what packages are untrusted. It does not tell me what untrusted sources it is required to retrieve packages from. And it does not tell me why these packages and sources are untrusted. It neither offers any way of learning this information. It also denies me any choice in the matter. The warning dialogue has two actions. One is settings, which is clearly useful for anyone who already knows the answers to the unanswered questions raised above. The other is OK, an invitation to go ahead and install the anonymous untrusted packages from the anonymous untrusted sources. There is no option to decline the installation of these packages. Being a user of but little knowledge, it just so happens that the little knowledge I have tells me not to install anonymous untrusted packages from untrusted sources. It's the sort of thing parents tell their children nowadays after saying they shouldn't talk to strangers. So I do the only thing I can, short of spending a week of nights and weeks more nights to learn what it is all about. (If only I had so much time). I close X the window and hope it goes away. But it has come back again. I think it might keep coming back. What if it's an important piece of software? What if my operating system fails because I won't let it install anonymous untrusted packages from untrusted sources? And what oh! of the tragic irony if I end up getting malicious anonymous untrusted packages from untrusted sources getting in through a breach in my security left by my refusal to install anonymous untrusted packages from untrusted sources?
