[Bug 1230091] Re: [feature] Window reparenting (required for appstore app trust model)
It's true Mir does not implement "parenting" of any sort. I think this was intentional. The use case of modal dialogs is a good case for parenting, but if that remains the only use case I think we should pause to consider if there are any better alternatives. "Parenting" is otherwise not required in Mir so we should only consider adding it if absolutely necessary. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1230091 Title: [feature] Window reparenting (required for appstore app trust model) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mir/+bug/1230091/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1231826] [NEW] Coordination Transformation Matrix Bug - Jumping Cursor
Public bug reported: If i attach a second Display with Touchscreen to my Laptop and configure the Touch with "xinput set-prop "coordination transformation matrix" 0.5 0 0.5 0 1 0 0 0 1", then the Touchscreen is not working anymore. If i touch the screen the cursor will continously be jumping from my finger position to the right, and back again. The Bug affects older Versions of the Xserver-Xorg too. The Bug caused me to upgrade from 12.04 to 12.10. But this didn't helped. I will try to install the git version of the xserver, because there seems to be a patch regarding this problem. regards, jens ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.10 Package: xorg 1:7.7+1ubuntu4 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.8.0-31.46~precise1-generic 3.8.13.8 Uname: Linux 3.8.0-31-generic i686 .tmp.unity.support.test.0: ApportVersion: 2.6.1-0ubuntu12 Architecture: i386 CompizPlugins: [core, bailer, detection, composite, opengl, compiztoolbox, decor, mousepoll, snap, regex, wall, imgpng, grid, place, vpswitch, move, resize, gnomecompat, animation, unitymtgrabhandles, session, expo, workarounds, fade, ezoom, scale, unityshell] CompositorRunning: None Date: Fri Sep 27 08:50:24 2013 DistUpgraded: 2013-09-26 14:58:01,894 DEBUG enabling apt cron job DistroCodename: quantal DistroVariant: ubuntu DkmsStatus: virtualbox, 4.1.18, 3.5.0-18-generic, i686: installed virtualbox, 4.1.18, 3.5.0-33-generic, i686: installed virtualbox, 4.1.18, 3.5.0-41-generic, i686: installed EcryptfsInUse: Yes ExtraDebuggingInterest: Yes GraphicsCard: Intel Corporation 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller [8086:0166] (rev 09) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Dell Device [1028:056e] Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Thames XT/GL [Radeon HD 7600M Series] [1002:6840] (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Dell Device [1028:056e] InstallationDate: Installed on 2012-11-23 (307 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.04 "Natty Narwhal" - Release i386 (20110427.1) MachineType: Dell Inc. [Bug 1050021] Re: autofs failed to mount .hidden
Hi, I confirm this bug. I'ts a real pain. Even more when using executable maps as we do, because autofs blindly obeys to mounting a share that doesn't exist on the server side (shouldn't autofs know it ?). Here's our executable /etc/auto.nfs map : #!/bin/bash user_group=$(id -n -g $1) echo "-fstype=nfs4,rw,sec=krb5 server:/home/NFS/$user_group/$1" It works fine when the map is called with username when mounting its home directory. But sometimes, it's Kate (text editor) that's trying to access /home/.kateprojekt or /home/.kateconfig files instead of /home/user1/.kateprojekt and /home/user1/.kateconfig and then it fails. It's worse than that : it freezes the text editor and even the whole KDE desktop. That's what autofs is triyng to mount in this particular situation : /home/NFS//.kateprojekt on /home/ Tried this with Ubuntu 13.04 server and client and Fedora 19 too and same errors happens. On Fedora 19 I even get error about /home/.Trash and /home/.Trash-x and /home/.hidden etc I'm now on production with all my students and teachers beeing impacted by this bug. There seems to be 2 problems here : 1. Autofs should better handle mount errors. 2. Kate should record its configuration in the right path : /home/user1/.kateprojekt and not /home/.kateprojekt Hope someone pays attention to this and fix this really soon. Let me know if I can help / try your fixing. [Bug 1231834] [NEW] USB Mouse clicks are unreliable (missed clicks, accidental double clicks)
Public bug reported: Since I updated from 10.04 LTS to 12.04 LTS my USB mouse has been behaving strangely: clicks are often not recognized properly. The most frequent problem is that clicks are not recognized at all. I have to click two or three times before a click get recognized. After that, the next three or four clicks are recognized without problems. Another problem is that simple clicks are misunderstood for double clicks. This happens with a Logitech USB mouse and other USB mice. All these mice are properly working, as I tested them on other computers. [Bug 1185756] Re: drbd8-utils not compatible with linux-lts-raring kernel in 12.04
@Numérigraphe, thanks for the quick testing. To answer the question from #12 first: The version used by that package depends on the version of the kernel. So just upgrading kernel to 3.8 (or later) and booting with that kernel will cause the 8.4 utils part to be used. This unfortunately does some automatic change to the on-disk meta-data (as mentioned above). So while upgrading the kernel causes no issues, trying to boot back into an old kernel will cause a failure to bring up the drbd device. It looked to be possible to force it back but then caused a complete re-sync. > Please note that when using kernel 3.2, the tools have actually been > DOWNgraded > from 8.3.11 to 8.3.13 I think you might have meant to say to 8.3.10. Yes it seems kind of odd as I would have expected the latest version in Raring to contain also the latest legacy version. [Bug 1231857] [NEW] [DPMS] Display backlight turns back on almost immediately after being turned off
Public bug reported: Display backlight turns back on almost immediately after being turned off. In theory DPMS support has landed in XMir, but it's not really working. TEST CASE: xset dpms force off Expected: Screen turns off and stays off Observed: Screen turns off and then immediately either: (a) turns back on fully; or (b) the backlight turns back on but the screen remains black.
