[Bug 1230091] Re: [feature] Window reparenting (required for appstore app trust model)

2013-09-27 Thread Daniel van Vugt
It's true Mir does not implement "parenting" of any sort. I think this
was intentional.

The use case of modal dialogs is a good case for parenting, but if that
remains the only use case I think we should pause to consider if there
are any better alternatives. "Parenting" is otherwise not required in
Mir so we should only consider adding it if absolutely necessary.

[Bug 1231826] [NEW] Coordination Transformation Matrix Bug - Jumping Cursor

2013-09-27 Thread Jens Harms
Public bug reported:

If i attach a second Display with Touchscreen to my Laptop and configure the
Touch with "xinput set-prop "coordination transformation matrix" 0.5 0 0.5
0 1 0 0 0 1", then the Touchscreen is not working anymore.
If i touch the screen the cursor will continously be jumping from my finger
position to the right, and back again.

The Bug affects older Versions of the Xserver-Xorg too. The Bug caused
me to upgrade from 12.04 to 12.10. But this didn't helped. I will try to
install the git version of the xserver, because there seems to be a
patch regarding this problem.

regards,
jens

[Bug 1050021] Re: autofs failed to mount .hidden

2013-09-27 Thread Frédéric Nass
Hi,

I confirm this bug. I'ts a real pain. Even more when using executable
maps as we do, because autofs blindly obeys to mounting a share that
doesn't exist on the server side (shouldn't autofs know it ?).

Here's our executable /etc/auto.nfs map :

#!/bin/bash
user_group=$(id -n -g $1)
echo "-fstype=nfs4,rw,sec=krb5  server:/home/NFS/$user_group/$1"

It works fine when the map is called with username when mounting its
home directory. But sometimes, it's Kate (text editor) that's trying to
access /home/.kateprojekt or /home/.kateconfig files instead of
/home/user1/.kateprojekt and /home/user1/.kateconfig and then it fails.
It's worse than that : it freezes the text editor and even the whole KDE
desktop.

That's what autofs is triyng to mount in this particular situation :
/home/NFS//.kateprojekt on /home/

Tried this with Ubuntu 13.04 server and client and Fedora 19 too and
same errors happens. On Fedora 19 I even get error about /home/.Trash
and /home/.Trash-x and /home/.hidden etc

I'm now on production with all my students and teachers beeing impacted
by this bug.

There seems to be 2 problems here :

1. Autofs should better handle mount errors.
2. Kate should record its configuration in the right path :
/home/user1/.kateprojekt and not /home/.kateprojekt

Hope someone pays attention to this and fix this really soon. Let me
know if I can help / try your fixing.

Frédéric.

[Bug 1231835] [NEW] PostGIS control file missing

2013-09-27 Thread raspi
Public bug reported:

Using https://launchpad.net/~ubuntugis/+archive/ppa/ and Ubuntu Raring

Type "help" for help.

postgres=# CREATE EXTENSION postgis;
ERROR: could not open extension control file
"/usr/share/postgresql/9.1/extension/postgis.control": Tiedostoa tai hakemistoa

There are postgis contrib files:

# find /usr/share/postgresql/9.1/contrib/postgis-1.5/

[Bug 1231834] [NEW] USB Mouse clicks are unreliable (missed clicks, accidental double clicks)

2013-09-27 Thread Gioele Barabucci
Public bug reported:

Since I updated from 10.04 LTS to 12.04 LTS my USB mouse has been
behaving strangely: clicks are often not recognized properly.

The most frequent problem is that clicks are not recognized at all. I
have to click two or three times before a click get recognized. After
that, the next three or four clicks are recognized without problems.
Another problem is that simple clicks are misunderstood for double
clicks.

This happens with a Logitech USB mouse and other USB mice. All these
mice are properly working, as I tested them on other computers.

[Bug 1185756] Re: drbd8-utils not compatible with linux-lts-raring kernel in 12.04

2013-09-27 Thread Stefan Bader
@Numérigraphe,

thanks for the quick testing. To answer the question from #12 first: The
version used by that package depends on the version of the kernel. So
just upgrading kernel to 3.8 (or later) and booting with that kernel
will cause the 8.4 utils part to be used. This unfortunately does some
automatic change to the on-disk meta-data (as mentioned above). So while
upgrading the kernel causes no issues, trying to boot back into an old
kernel will cause a failure to bring up the drbd device. It looked to be
possible to force it back but then caused a complete re-sync.

> from 8.3.11 to 8.3.13

I think you might have meant to say to 8.3.10. Yes it seems kind of odd
as I would have expected the latest version in Raring to contain also
the latest legacy version. Need to check whether there was smaller
update in Precise and whether that can easily be merged.

[Bug 1231842] [NEW] FFe: Sync jwchat 1.0+dfsg-1.3 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2013-09-27 Thread Jackson Doak
Public bug reported:

Please sync jwchat 1.0+dfsg-1.3 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

Explanation of FeatureFreeze exception:
This fixes a rather large bug causing jwchat to fail installing and upgrading.

Changelog entries since current saucy version 1.0+dfsg-1.1:

jwchat (1.0+dfsg-1.3) unstable; urgency=low

  * Non-maintainer upload.
  * Add forgotten symlinks used in debug mode (really closes: #644097).
  * Add launcepad bug reference for #710688 fix.

 -- Petter Reinholdtsen   Tue, 24 Sep 2013 15:12:21
+0200

jwchat (1.0+dfsg-1.2) unstable; urgency=low

  * Non-maintainer upload.
  * Rename /etc/apache4/sites-available/jwchat and
/etc/apache2/sites-available/jwchat.conf and add maintainer script
code to handle this rename during upgrades, to make jwchat
compatible with apache 2.4 (Closes: #710688). Based on patch from
Jean-Michel Vourgère with additions from Petter Reinholdtsen.
Also fixes LP: #571925.
  * Change file owner of files handled out via apache from nobody and
www-data to root, to ensure the apache server and processes
running as user nobody can't modify the files (Closes: #632631).
  * Apply patch from Jean-Michel Vourgère to not leave any
files behind after purge, even if ucf isn't available during
purge (Closes: #656455).
  * Add web page symlinks to allow DEBUG=true mode to work with the
jwchat web client (Closes: #644097). Patch from Jean-Michel
Vourgère.
  * Updated Standards-Version from 3.9.1 to 3.9.4 keeping lintian
happy.  No changes needed.
  * Removed article from short description, keeping lintian happy.

[Bug 1116525] Re: USB devices in dock station of thinkpad x230 doesn't work after resume from sleep

2013-09-27 Thread Benjamin Schmid
Same here on Dell E6410 on latest Upstream Kernel 3.11.0

Never had an issue before. Since a few days (and after upgrading from
3.10 to 3.11) I experience a whole set of issues related to the docking
station. One time the secondary monitor is not recognized. This morning
none of the USB devices (keyboard/mouse) working, As Robert wrote:
"All USB capability completely disappears on resume if the X230 is left
in S3 mode for a "long" period of time"

I wonder if this might be rather a physical connection issue or really
a software issue.

Anyone a hint about what bandwith the error message "Not enough
bandwidth on HS bus for newly activated TT." is talking about?

[Bug 1075923] Re: nautilus hangs copying large directories from a samba share

2013-09-27 Thread Claudio
Ross Lagerwall has done some fxes / patch to gvfs.
Copying large files should work better with this.

The patch can be added and tested as a ppa:

[Bug 1218890] Re: eps import fails, graphics filter not found

2013-09-27 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package libreoffice - 1:4.1.2~rc2-0ubuntu1

---
libreoffice (1:4.1.2~rc2-0ubuntu1) saucy; urgency=low

  * merge from Debian
  * new upstream release candidate
- fix fdo#68210, fdo#67602: trouble with mergedlibs and dynamic loading
  (LP: #1218890)
  * activate unity menus even earlier to reduce latency (LP: #1204592)
  * remove upstreamed and unused patch for lp#1085168
  * with mergedlibs, lp-solve is already needed by -core (LP: #1221014)

libreoffice (1:4.1.2~rc2-1) UNRELEASED; urgency=low

  * new upstream release candidate
- fixes debug logging for python3 in pythonscript.py (closes: #719941)

  * debian/rules:
- fix curl conditional to really add libcurl4--dev builddep
- disable graphite2 for armel and sparc for wheezy-backports
- build using gcj-jdk for kfreebsd-* on wheezy-backports

libreoffice (1:4.1.1-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * LibreOffice 4.1.1 final (identical to rc2)

  * upload to unstable

  * debian/patches/translation-updates-and-bugfixes.diff: as name says
from libreoffice-4-1-1 branch

  * debian/rules:
- hardcode kfreebsd-* as openjdk arch until java-common setting it as
  default is uploaded
- bump librdf0-dev build-dep to >= 1.0.16 to match reality; use
  internal one on wheezy
- *really* build sysui with all languages again in build-arch so .desktop
  get the translations

  * merge from Ubuntu:
- remove uuid build-dep again, just needed for crosscompile msi
  generation..

[Bug 1208989] Re: [FFe] standing freeze exception for Ubuntu Touch-specific packages

2013-09-27 Thread Jussi Pakkanen
We would like to get a FFe for a new package called (currently)
thumbnailer. It is a very simple library that generates and caches
thumbnails for image, video and audio files. It is meant to be used by
the dash to display preview results. Apps written using the SDK can also
utilize this functionality.

This change is for touch only, it has no effect on 13/10 desktop.

[Bug 1231835] Re: PostGIS control file missing

2013-09-27 Thread Alex Mandel
UbuntuGIS Stable (PPA referenced here) does not contain postgis for raring. You
installed postgis from the default ubuntu repos and got version 1.5. Version 2
is when the Extension method was introduced. So if you want postgis 2 please
use UbuntuGIS Unstable PPA
https://launchpad.net/~ubuntugis/+archive/ubuntugis-unstable?field.series_filter=raring

If you're fine with 1.5 you have to use the old method for initializing a
spatial database.
