[Bug 1224517] Re: please add glusterfs support
Hello Jiri, also thanks for this solution. I agree to Alan that I needed to manually add the DEB_CONFIGURE_EXTRA_FLAGS=--enable-glusterfs. In addition I can confirm that above workaround to get native glusterfs support to qemu also works on Ubuntu LTS 12.04.3 (Precise) by using the latest packages for Openstack Havana from The Ubuntu Cloud Archive: See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ServerTeam/CloudArchive which will be supported until 2017. They are also compiled without qemu native glusterfs support ! First I upgraded all packages of my LTS-Server. It's also already running raring kernels-series 3.8.x (sudo apt-get install linux-generic-lts-raring) sudo apt-get upgrade I added this repo: sudo add-apt-repository cloud-archive:havana To void dependency problems during package-configuration this leads to completely upgraded and configured packages: sudo apt-get install qemu-kvm librados2 librbd1 libvirt-bin libvirt0 python-libvirt qemu-common qemu-kvm qemu-utils qemu-system-x86 qemu-system-common sudo apt-get upgrade Afterwards I followed your steps to get qemu build with native glusterfs support. On 2013-11-25T15:00:16+00:00 Scott Moser wrote: During early boot, plymouth captures writes to /dev/console. As I understand it, it is supposed to re-play that content later. Whether or not it intends to is not the issue. In Ubuntu cloud-images (and in other cases) users may write data to /dev/console that needs to be seen on the other side (ie a serial logger or 'get-console-ouptput' EC2 api call). This bug is easily reproducible on a local kvm, a cloud such as EC2 or a local lxc container. In my opinion, it should be considered data loss. The issue is that a user cannot reliably write data to /dev/console. See the attached 'my-logger.conf' for an upstart job that simply writes data early in boot to /dev/console. Sometimes data lost is available in /var/log/boot.log, but sometimes it doesn't even seem to make it there. bug 682831 (http://pad.lv/682831) has an attachment 'myhack-init' that does a similar thing but starts outputting by replacing /sbin/init and then calling /sbin/init itself. I'd really appreciate it if someone was able to take a look at this. I'm willing to help reproduce it and can even give access to some cloud- instances that can reproduce if necessary. [Bug 1235231] Re: plymouth loses output to /dev/console (such as ci-info: messages)
Theres a plea for review/accept at http://irclogs.ubuntu.com/2013/11/25/%23ubuntu-devel.html#t14:18 that is met with 2 questions: a.) why isn't this in plymouth package (because slangasek requested it not be) b.) why isn't this in cloud-init package (because its not at all related to cloud-init) Rbasak mentioned that disabling plymouth does have fallout, for example lightdm is 'start on started plymouth'. [Bug 1243741] Re: apache2 asserts on reload - GLib-GObject-CRITICAL + g_boxed_type_register_static
Alright let's see if I can at least figure out the true source of this assertion, as Apache seems to have no direct linkage to glib. First I hacked out two scripts... lsofunique - prints all unique files of a process ala lsof. lddflat - prints lib name for every internal reference. Attached is the full output off - lddflat $(lsofunique apache2 | grep '\.so') | grep glib The lines that pop out relate to PHP... as I suspected... /usr/lib/php5/20121212/enchant.so /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libglib-2.0.so.0 /usr/lib/php5/20121212/imagick.so /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libglib-2.0.so.0 /usr/lib/php5/20121212/midgard2.so /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libglib-2.0.so.0 /usr/lib/php5/20121212/midgard2.so /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libdbus-glib-1.so.2 /usr/lib/php5/20121212/rrd.so /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libglib-2.0.so.0 /usr/lib/php5/20121212/vtkgdcm.so /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libglib-2.0.so.0 I'll turn off all these modules, then turn them back on, one-by-one, to identify the culprit. [Bug 1243741] Re: apache2 asserts on reload - GLib-GObject-CRITICAL + g_boxed_type_register_static
Alright, tried pecl upgrade-all just to make sure all modules are up to date. None of the modules referencing glib were upgraded, so now to disable them all + test Apache reload... In /etc/php5/mods-available commented out all extension=...so entries in the files mentioned above... enchant.ini imagick.ini midgard2.ini rrd.ini vtkgdcm.ini service apache2 restart lddflat $(lsofunique apache2 | grep '\.so') | grep glib | grep php5 - yields nothing, so we're good to test reload function. I'm in a similar situation: An ec2 instance with just one network interface, to which I have assigned a secondary IP address. [Bug 1254032] Re: wrong position of window reported after switching workspaces
I also have this bug on a fresh install of Ubuntu 13.10. However, first I had trouble recreating the bug when I followed the instructions. But I clicked in the other application an additional time (which was not described in step 4) , and not only on the icon in the launcher. This already seemed to circumvent the bug, which would imply that some event that is triggered once you click/(or do something) in the other application does the magic which should also be executed once you click the icon in the launcher. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1254032 Title: wrong position of window reported after switching workspaces To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/1254032/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1174205] Re: Using pyopencl doesn't work and spits our ImportError
This is partially fixed in Trusty (nvidia-graphics-drivers-331): nvidia- libopencl1-331 is now a separate package which the main driver only Recommends:, so co-installing ocl-icd-libopencl1 and nvidia-331 is now allowed, but as virtual packages aren't versioned, pyopencl will still think nvidia-libopencl1-331 satisfies its libopencl1 dependency. There are a few obvious solutions, but none of them are neat: -Have pyopencl Depend: specifically on ocl-icd-libopencl1. The maintainer has previously said he doesn't want to do that: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=682435 -Have nvidia-libopencl1-* not Provide: libopencl1 (effectively defining the libopencl1 virtual package to be at least OpenCL 1.2). -Remove the Recommends: nvidia-libopencl1-331 from nvidia-331, allowing pyopencl's preference for ocl-icd-libopencl1 (Depends: ocl-icd-libopencl1 | libopencl1) to take effect. Possibly replace it with a Recommends: ocl-icd-libopencl1 to retain has OpenCL by default. ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #682435 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=682435 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1174205 Title: Using pyopencl doesn't work and spits our ImportError To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/1174205/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 863969] Re: ubuntu 11.10b2 resumes on wrong iMac display port
I cannot use ubuntu any more. Cannot burn to DVD (media not recognized). Despite following instructions to create USB install media from ubuntu iso file my iMac will not boot from it - message is 'no boot media found'. I have successfully installed fedora 19 on my iMac, with two monitors connected; fedora boot image is recognized properly. With fedora 19 (kernel 3.11.6, radeon driver) the graphics find internal and external monitors but the names appear to be reversed. The internal monitor is named eDP and the external monitor is named DisplayPort-0. I can control the screens using xrandr. The original problem is still there, if I suspend to RAM, and resume, the video only shows on the external monitor. This implies the radeon driver is reverting to DisplayPort-0, which, on my iMac, is the external monitor port. So I would like to say this is confirmed, but I cannot confirm in ubuntu. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/863969 Title: ubuntu 11.10b2 resumes on wrong iMac display port To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/863969/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
