[Bug 1567194] Re: Unable to switch to console/ttys from ubiquity

2016-04-07 Thread Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre
This is only broken in the only-ubiquity case (ie. when you pick
"Install" rather than "Try") and was already broken in wily release.

That said, it's on my list of things to fix for this cycle, it's just
kind of cosmetic so not the top priority. I'll see what I can do, I
wasn't that far from making it work.

[Bug 1567411] Re: Problem sending mails with pictures in otrs via Perl SMTP Module

2016-04-07 Thread Stefan Pütz
** Description changed:

  Hi there,

  I've got the following problem:

When I try to answer a ticket in OTRS Ticket system on Ubuntu 16.04
with perl 5.22.1 and there is a picture in the ticket mail (e.g. a
company logo in the mail signature) the answer is not send via mail
because of an error in the perl smtp module. In my opinion it has
something to do with the way the base64 coded picture in the mail is
treated by the smtp perl module. As far as I can see in the included log
file it breaks with an EOF error while sending the picture.

On my productive Ubuntu 14.04 system with perl 5.18.2 this is working
fine, so think there is a bug in the perl smtp module in Ubuntu 16.04.

- I've additional information is needed I will do my best to provide it.
+ If additional information is needed I will do my best to provide it.

  Greetings.

[Bug 1567440] Re: debconf for bridge configuration is confusing and too complicated

2016-04-07 Thread Stéphane Graber
Hmm, the fact that you had lxcbr0 was probably a bug in a previous
migration script, it should have been lxdbr0.

We can't use lxcbr0 because on most systems lxc1 will be marked for
auto-removal after upgrading to the lxd version which brings lxdbr0, so
at configuration time the bridge would still be there, but 10min later,
not so much.

We also can't default on any subnet, that's the whole point of lxdbr0,
defaulting on a subnet has been breaking user network in the past and is
exactly why we were told not to do that anymore. We do suggest a subnet
in all those questions though, typing in those values will get you
working networking.

@Maurizio, but that functions is not empty? It has code to reject the
call to trigger a fallback to the other method, but I guess there is an
issue with bluez/the hardware which makes the fallback method not work?

Demo file - custom animation with sound

As in attachment, sound fails to play if added to an object in custom
animation. Sounds do work on slide transition however. This bug has been
around for a long time, from older versions to the very latest
Libreoffice.

[Bug 1563322] Re: Can't remove or launch Google Chrome from Software

2016-04-07 Thread Alessandro Viprati
** Description changed:

- I went to the download page for Chrome, and chose to open with "Software
- Installer (default)" to install it directly. Even if the installation
- worked, when completed Software told me that it couldn't find google-
- chrome-stable (see attachment).
+ I went to the download page for Chrome, and chose to open with "Software
Installer (default)" to install it directly. The installation worked as
expected.
+ However, the "Remove" and "Launch" buttons in Software does not work for
Google Chrome - nothing happens!

- However, after having relaunched Software, Google Chrome was showed as
- it should.
+ How to reproduce:
+ - download Google Chrome
+ - install Google Chrome with "Software"
+ - then try to remove or launch Google Chrome from Software.

- Another thing which doesn't work as expected: The "Launch" button in
- Software does not launch Google Chrome - nothing happens.

These issues are possibly related to bug #1551707.

[Bug 1567389] Re: VPN settings is missing "username" field.

It's an OpenVPN configuration, using the settings provided by my VPN
service provider (a commercial, subscription-based service)...

My VPN service provider went through the settings with me one-by-one and
confirmed what I suspected - that there should be a field to type-in my
username (an e-mail address in my case).

[Bug 1567440] Re: debconf for bridge configuration is confusing and too complicated

2016-04-07 Thread Martin Pitt
** Description changed:

After installing current lxd (I purged it before, so any previous
- configuration should be done) the networking in the containers does not
+ configuration should be gone) the networking in the containers does not
work at all, not even with apt-get update (as it seems it can't even
  reach the default Debian mirror).

So I went with "dpkg-reconfigure lxd" as advertised on the postinst
  note.

The first question is ambiguous: "Choosing this option will let you
configure the default LXD bridge to your liking. If you would rather not
have LXD do this for you, then you will be asked whether you want to use
an existing bridge or just do everything manually." The default is
"yes", so I picked that as I indeed want some default LXD bridge.

Now it asks me for "a valid network interface name", defaulting to
lxcbr0. This might be because I have lxc1 still installed, or this is an
upgrade or so, but either way, using lxcbr0 seems totally fine -- that's
what is already preconfigured and has worked well for a long time and
allows me to connect lxc and lxd containers.

So I go with "lxcbr0", but now it asks me a gazillion questions about IP
addresses, masks, ask me to come up with a valid IPv6 address (how do I
do that, and pick one that's valid, private, and not overlapping with
something else?) None of these questions have defaults. Moreover, lxcbr0
is already configured, so if I would put in different values then lxc
and lxd probably just stomp on each other's feet?

  ProblemType: Bug
  DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04
  Package: lxd 2.0.0~rc8-0ubuntu7
  ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.4.0-17.33-generic 4.4.6
  Uname: Linux 4.4.0-17-generic x86_64
  ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu1
  Architecture: amd64
  CurrentDesktop: i3

[Bug 1567440] Re: debconf for bridge configuration is confusing and too complicated

2016-04-07 Thread Stéphane Graber
I'll try to find a way to get debconf to empty the bridge name when
switching from a LXD configured bridge to you providing one. The same
debconf variable is used for both which is why you saw lxdbr0 pre-seeded
in there, but I should be able to detect that case and have it emptied.

No, no, I don't mean on package install time, but at the time you run
"dpkg-reconfigure lxd" . I understand that/why we can't set up the
bridge by default, I'd just like to make it humanly possible to actually
*do* configure a working bridge without being a network pro and having
to type tons of IP addresses.

[Bug 1545802] Re: activeFocus not being forwarded to TextInput inside TextField

2016-04-07 Thread Olivier Tilloy
I’m still unable to reproduce the issue in a standalone example, however
there is clearly a problem with the TextField component in the UITK, if
it allows active focus to not be forwarded to its child QQuickTextInput
under certain circumstances.

In TextField.qml, the TextInput element (with id 'editor') is inside a
Flickable (id 'flicker'), which itself is a child of the top-level
ActionItem. ActionItem is a focus scope, but Flickable isn’t. I’m not
sure how a focus scope is supposed to behave when the item that has
'focus: true' isn’t a direct child.

now the bluetooth-wizard show me the label_ssp_pin widget page with the correct

[Bug 1218076] Re: nemo says vfat/fat32 usb flash drive are read-only - not so...

2016-04-07 Thread Yves-Gwenael Bourhis
I don't konw if this may help for the ones who will try to fix this,
but:

Since it works in command line, and there are strictly no errors in
dmesg, since the device is properly mounted and writable in CLI, it's
not a low level issue.

Since the issue is not really desktop dependent meaning that it happens
in different ones (mate, xfce, cinamon, gnome), I suspect a messaging
issue between mount events and the xsession itsself (dbus? I'm no
expert).

It really looks like the GUI's file manager receives wrong permissions
by some notification process (deamon) and does not check the real file
permissions.

[Bug 1567324] Re: System crashes when opening Facebook on Firefox

2016-04-07 Thread Romain Thouvenin
The problem seems more serious than I thought, my system froze again while
displaying a Stackoverflow.com page and another time while a Google search page
was being dynamically updated (while typing in the search field).
So while it is 100% reproducible on Facebook, it looks more sporadic on other
sites.

[Bug 1567332] Re: Install failed

2016-04-07 Thread Polowonix
I can confirm this bug in OTA 9.1 after reflashing Ubuntu Touch on my BQ
Aquaris e4.5. After the upgrade to OTA 10 I've installed this app
without any problems. For me it is fixed, but I doesn't know if it fixed
for people which flash OTA 10 to their device (and not upgrade from OTA
9.1 to OTA 10).

[Bug 1566726] Re: System freeze after update to 3.16.0-69-generic [NULL pointer reference in radeon_fence_ref]

2016-04-07 Thread Kamal Mostafa
This bug is awaiting verification that the kernel in -proposed solves
the problem. Please test the kernel and update this bug with the
results. If the problem is solved, change the tag 'verification-needed-
trusty' to 'verification-done-trusty'.

If verification is not done by 5 working days from today, this fix will
be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed.

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how
to enable and use -proposed. Thank you!

[Bug 1518935] Re: When an application is suspended or closed it causes a large UI stutter

2016-04-07 Thread Andrew Hayzen
Agreed, from playing about with this for a while now, anything that is
using oxide (webbrowser or webapp) seems to cause a very large and
noticeable delay. Although it should be confirmed that other apps are
not susceptible to this.

All of ib_iser's deps are already in linux-generic

So we might as well move that module also.

Err, you don't have to replace
  ~/.config/upstart/unity-panel-service.conf

But instead create a new one. Once the test is done, you can safely
delete it, as it will override the system one.

[Bug 1566468] Re: systemd-modules-load.service: Failing due to missing module 'ib_iser'

2016-04-07 Thread Scott Moser
ok, so it is /lib/modules-load.d/open-iscsi.conf that has 'ib_iser' in
it.

ib_iser per modinfo "iSER (iSCSI Extensions for RDMA) Datamover".

per depmod on full linux-image-extra system:
 kernel/drivers/infiniband/ulp/iser/ib_iser.ko:
kernel/drivers/infiniband/core/rdma_cm.ko
kernel/drivers/infiniband/core/iw_cm.ko kernel/drivers/infiniband/core/ib_cm.ko
kernel/drivers/infiniband/core/ib_sa.ko
kernel/drivers/infiniband/core/ib_mad.ko
kernel/drivers/infiniband/core/ib_core.ko
kernel/drivers/infiniband/core/ib_addr.ko kernel/drivers/scsi/libiscsi.ko
kernel/drivers/scsi/scsi_transport_iscsi.ko

$ ls -l
/lib/modules/4.4.0-17-generic/kernel/drivers/infiniband/ulp/iser/ib_iser.ko
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 81382 Mar 29 15:15
/lib/modules/4.4.0-17-generic/kernel/drivers/infiniband/ulp/iser/ib_iser.ko

So the easiest fix for this, at a cost of 81kb is to just move ib_iser
from linux-image-extra to linux-image.

There might be some way to say "load if present, do not complain" but I
dont see it immediately. Possibly something with modprobe.d. It would
seem that such function would be needed to avoid warning failure if a
driver was simply built into the kernel. Ie, a custom kernel built
ib_iser into the kernel, then we'd not want to warn.

+ Using my keyboard with Spanish layout:

- In Ubuntu 14.04 desktop
- (http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/12.04/release/) the keyboard works
- perfect.
+ - PC: Everything works perfect.
+ - Ubuntu Touch: I can't write accented characters (dead acute, áéíóú).

- In Phone: bq Aquaris E.4.5 Ubuntu Edition, Ubuntu release: 15.04 (r305):
+ Extra info:

- With the default keyboard layout I can write many characters pressing
- the keys they are printed. The specific symbols like ? or - are in
- different keys than those they are printed. This is expected.
-
- If I choose 'Spanish' from 'Settings > Language and text > External
- keyboard' I can write almost all characters and specific symbols except
- those which you have to press ALT-GR key. The accented characters are
- impossible to obtain, i.e., I only can write Sabado instead of Sábado.
-
- I have compared /usr/share/i18n/charmaps/ES.gz in desktop and phone and
- they don't have differences.
-
- I hope this to help. Thanks.

[Bug 1449790] Re: Fails to play a file with a # (hash symbol) in the path

2016-04-07 Thread Neil McPhail
This doesn't seem to be fixed 100% in OTA10:

1) Play a track without a "#" in the path from the music app
2) Click the "Search" area in the "Songs" tab, and search for your track with a
"#" in the path
3) select the track - instead of playing the new file with the "#" in the path,
the original track will be restarted
