[Bug 1605493] Re: USN-3040-1: MySQL vulnerabilities partially applies to MariaDB too
Hi Otto - Thank you for the contributions! Sorry that it took my a little while to begin sponsoring these uploads but I believe that this is the first git-buildpackage upload that I've sponsored and it took me some time to figure out. The 16.04 upload looks fine. The 15.10 upload will be ignored since it 15.10 is EOL as of last week. I'm having some problems with the 14.04 upload. If I run the git diff command that you mentioned in comment 1, I see the same debdiff that you attached in comment 2. However, if I create a source upload based on your git-buildpackage tree and then look at the debdiff between mariadb-5.5_5.5.49-1ubuntu0.14.04.1.dsc and the generated mariadb-5.5_5.5.50-1ubuntu0.14.04.1.dsc, I get very different results. [Bug 1589128] Re: Please update Quassel to 0.12.4
Ok I went through it and I think it was really worth merging to get it more maintainable and syncable from Debian. Attached is a rough "diff" of what changed. I first generated it by trying to standardize the notations (wrap-and-sort) and then diffing between Debian and Ubuntu (Michael's updated 0.12.4 PPA version). After applying changes and keeping some Ubuntu changes, I modified the diff by hand to remove parts that no longer apply. So it's not a real diff, but what tries to explain what did now change in Ubuntu. The big changelog diff is not in there, they'd be welcome to be hand merged to preserve the Ubuntu history. If you see anything in this diff that's being removed that should not be removed from Ubuntu, or added that should not be added, then feel free to readd the modifications. ** Patch added: "approximate_what_changed.diff" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/quassel/+bug/1589128/+attachment/4711369/+files/approximate_what_changed.diff -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1589128 Title: Please update Quassel to 0.12.4 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/quassel/+bug/1589128/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

This is still a problem with mythbuntu 16.04.1. It seems to be related to display size. [Bug 1607075] Re: systemd 229-4ubuntu7 ADT test failure with linux 4.4.0-33.52
I did a manual run and reproduced the error. It also happens on a current (July 21) xenial cloud image, not just on the rather outdated adt image from April 20. autopkgtest.service failing is a consequence of https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/autopkgtest/autopkgtest.git/commit/?id=eff773b -- i. e. previously the error was hidden because it was a backgrounded SysV init job. So there is a /dev/ttyS1 in the VM (otherwise ConditionPathExists=/dev/ttyS1 would fail), but trying to talk to it fails: $ sudo cat https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/autopkgtest/autopkgtest.git/commit/?id=99717f142 . ** Also affects: autopkgtest (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: autopkgtest (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: autopkgtest (Ubuntu) Status: New => Fix Committed ** Changed in: autopkgtest (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Martin Pitt (pitti) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1607075 Title: systemd 229-4ubuntu7 ADT test failure with linux 4.4.0-33.52 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/autopkgtest/+bug/1607075/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1567540] Re: ntpd crashed with SIGABRT (was: ntp crashes everytime the network goes up or down.)
Looking through the crashes this seems usually one of the two: http://bugs.ntp.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2831 (as mentioned before) http://bugs.ntp.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2954 (related) There was a bit back and forth on what of the two is a dop to the other. Eventually 2954 has a fix I should be able to backport rather easily. Eventually 2954 has the fix, but 2831 later on got reopened and became an extension of the old fix. This is a rather invasive patch, but fortunately at least 2954 came right after p4 got released so it matches still. Not so sure about 2831. [Bug 1607199] Re: Add support for apps supplying their icons at run-time
Yes, I think providing a static image once is sufficient. Like a MirGraphicsRegion. However there is no good reason to limit the number of times an app can upload a new icon. Certainly you would create bugs by limiting when and where the icon gets set. An app is allowed to set its icon at any time, and failure to honour that is a shell bug - not something we could or should ask app developers to fix if their app has worked perfectly elsewhere for years. Well, the bug could be easily solved using a slightly smaller font/layout. [Bug 1566302] Re: Ubuntu 16.04: Suspend freezes the system after upgrade to linux image 4.4.0-16
Hi, For T440s or T440p owners, I tried the latest stabke kernel (4.7) directly from kernel.org. I still get random freezes on resuming from hibernate (suspend to ram is not impacted). Most of the time, the only trace remaining in logs is one line full of "@^@^@^@^@^@^@". Considering thus that there is no fix upstream, I went downstream and installed the longterm kernel 3.16.36 (still from kernel.org). I think it is the kernel version currently used by ubuntu 14.04 It seems to solve this bug. I say "it seems" because as the freezes occurs randomly, I could just have luck. Nevertheless, I was able to hibernate/resume 4 times, one after the other, without any freezes or kernel faults, which did never happen before. I will confirm later if freezes do not happen anymore. You can try also, possibly with a higher kernel version, so that we could identify which version change is responsible for this bug. I had all kinds of box's pop up with errors so I stopped the install that was stuck anyway. I rebooted and loaded any and all updates, there were none. I then went back to the epson page and loaded the lsb and then continued to the epson drivers through the Ubuntu Software Center it told me I still had errors but it was still trying to ask me which driver to load so I picked the right one and it did load it and I was able to print out a test page. I almost stopped and reloaded 14.04. Ok I forgot to check to see what printed when I hit the print test page . It sounded like it was printing it made all the right sounds like it was printing but it {[printed a blank page}]. and I just tried to print this page and the same thing happened it acted like it was printing but the printed page was blank. I changed the all of the ink cartridges a few weeks ago and have printed about 10 to 20 pages with less than half text and a few graphics and it worked fine then. I have a headache. Re: [Bug 1607684] Re: wifi networks not remembered correctly (ubuntu touch, bq M10)
So, your symptoms are unfortunately perfectly explained by wiping with format & download. You will have lost your S/N, MAC addresses, and some key material the HDMI software expects to find (but does not use). When your MAC addresses are wiped, the system will generate fresh ones every boot, which explains why the wifi association is forgotten & recreated. There are other ways the system can forget wifi (which are bugs), but losing the hard coded MAC addresses does explain this one. You are correct to observe that there are other bugs (both for wifi and HDMI interoperability).
