[Bug 1644530] Re: keepalived fails to restart cleanly due to the wrong systemd settings

2017-03-24 Thread ChristianEhrhardt
Tested on Xenial
pre-Proposed: 15 hits
with-Proposed: 0 hits

Also for general regression things seem to work normal.
Setting verification-done.

Yutani - if you could also verify Proposed that would make it even
better!

[Bug 1490611] Re: Using qemu >=2.2.1 to convert raw->VHD (fixed) adds extra padding to the result file, which Microsoft Azure rejects as invalid

2017-03-24 Thread ChristianEhrhardt
Verified Proposed:

dd if=/dev/zero of=source-disk.img bs=1M count=4096
qemu-img convert -f raw -o subformat=fixed -O vpc source-disk.img
dest-disk-old.vhd
#upgrade
$qemu-img convert -f raw -o subformat=fixed -O vpc source-disk.img
dest-disk-new.vhd
$qemu-img convert -f raw -o subformat=fixed,force_size -O vpc source-disk.img
dest-disk-new-forced.vhd
#check alignment:
$ stat dest-disk-old.vhd dest-disk-new.vhd dest-disk-new-forced.vhd | awk '/^
*Size:/ {print ($2-512)/1024/1024}'
4096.48
4096.48
4096

That means:
1. without adding the new parm no behaviour change (good since it is SRU)
2. with the force_size parm the size is aligned

That is enough for verification, but it would be even greater if that
could also be tested on real azure.

[Bug 1628589] Re: Need better session management for apps

2017-03-24 Thread Michał Sawicz
No, not a duplicate - bug 1671424 is about *not* signalling the
processes, but just closing the windows.

This bug is about quitting the whole app at once (not all its windows in
sequence) or force-quitting it for whatever reason (say, misbehaving
app).

With Unity8, an app is more than just the Mir client - it's the whole
group of processes managed through UAL/systemd.

** This bug is no longer a duplicate of bug 1671424

[Bug 1665698] Re: /etc/qemu-ifup not allowed by apparmor

2017-03-24 Thread ChristianEhrhardt
For the libvirt portion:
- testing of the issue of this bug itself - done
- in & cross version migration tests - done
- upgrade tests - done
- general QA regression testing - done

That said verification (for the yakkety-libvirt portion, not Nova) -
done.

P.S. James will also add a statement once he could check his Tempest.
Especially to see if the rbd auth now works - that is bug 1672367 which is
bundled in here.

@James - I'd consider all else done, would you set the "final"
verification-done tag then?

[Bug 1675522] Re: arm64: Synchronous Exception at 0x00000000BBC129BC

2017-03-24 Thread ChristianEhrhardt
Hi Dann, thanks for your checks already!
Are you intending to break this down if e.g. Yakkety qemu is fixed as well as
zesty seems?
And then once we know if Y is good maybe even down to a bisect of qemu in that
regard?

Given your checks already the test seems to be as "easy" as "boot zesty
+ reboot = crash".

Do you happen to know:
- if it makes a difference what exact arm HW (more diverse than x86 at least)
the host has?
- if it could be reproduced on qemu on x86 doing arm emulation?

[Bug 1628074] Re: Wallpapers.net doesn't work as source of wallpapers

2017-03-24 Thread Peter Levi
I'm not 100% sure this specific bug is worth patching. Various sources
have stayed temporarily broken before due to website changes, and most
users are kind of accustomed to this sort of breakage. This is actually
one of the reasons I want to drop any non-API sources from Variety -
they are a PITA to support and maintain.

But if you feel this is worth releasing a patch, I think it is better to
"operate" the source completely rather than just hiding it from the UI. The
change is very simple, and fairly risk-free from introducing regressions. The
mentioned trunk commit
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~peterlevi/variety/trunk/revision/558 contains
exactly the necessary changes, nothing less, nothing more. Only variety.pot
file needs to be regenerated afterwards.
Btw, this commit gives a good "recipe" for which places in the code need
touching when removing or adding a new source in the current non-pluginnable
state of affairs.

Regarding auto-removal of dead sources from the config:
It is an intentional side-effect :) Basically Variety only loads from the
config sources whose types it recognises and shows them in the preferences. So
sources with type "wn" will not be loaded at all once support for it is
removed. On the other hand, once preferences are persisted (and this happens
automatically in various places), the config file is simply dumped from the
currently loaded settings, so if a source wasn't there, it is removed from the
config file as well. Hence - clean config with only the supported sources
remaining there.
