My hardware: Dell XPS 13 (9343) I am able to reproduce the error using $ sudo dpkg-reconfigure grub-efi-amd64-signed Then I thought what might be different on my system, because this kind of error should normally affect more people. I remembered a BIOS update some weeks ago. Before attempting to downgrade I had a lucky guess and deleted the BIOS update file (9343_A17.exe) from /boot/efi - et voila: the problem seems to be gone. Can other affected people please try to check their /boot/efi partition for unneeded files? I updated my BIOS using this method (putting the exe file from the Dell support page to /boot/efi and then choosing BIOS update in the F12 boot menu) since months or even years. [Bug 509665] Re: Printing multiple messages to file, gets overwritten
Hi gf, I'm using Thunderbird 52.9.1 (64-bit), on Ubuntu 17.10 (64-bit). As I don't have a printer, I can't confirm your findings about the other messages being printed to the printer. I did install a (dummy) printer(-driver), to see if the messages would end up in the queue. They did not appear there, but that might be because there is no actual printer attached. My exact reproduction scenario: In an open Thunderbird: 1) Select a message by single-click; 2) Select second message by Control-click; 3) Select third message by Control-click; 4) Click on "hamburger menu", in upper-right corner to open menu; 5) Choose "Print..." from menu; 6) Choose "Print to File", select Output format PDF, leave filename at default "~/mozilla.pdf"; 7) Click green button "Print" in upper right corner; 8) A popup flashes a few times, indicating the messages being printed. Check file "~/mozilla.pdf" with a PDF viewer (I used Evince) The file only contains the LAST message from the selection. I also tried a variation, after selecting three messages, Control-click the first one twice (which deselects it, and then re-selects it). After that, continue with step 4 above. This also prints only the LAST message to the file. So it seems the selection is printed in order, not "last selected first", or some such. regards, Orin -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/509665 Title: Printing multiple messages to file, gets overwritten To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thunderbird/+bug/509665/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1781889] [NEW] System freezes on restart or shutdown
Public bug reported: Using default GRUB parameters ("quiet splash" or even "noquiet"), I'm unable to reboot or shutdown: the Plymouth circle starts spinning, then it stops and the system is frozen (altgr+sysrq won't work either). If I use "acpi=off", I can reboot but obviously the system will not shutdown (although I can get to a point where it is safe to hold the power button for 3 seconds). I also tried "acpi=noirq", "acpi=noapic", "acpi=nolapic", "pci=noacpi" with no success. Ubuntu 12.04 worked well, so this is a regression.
