[Bug 1827330] Re: [block layer] please pull below upstream patch to Ubuntu 19.04 kernel
commit fd9c40f64c514bdc585a21e2e33fa5f83ca8811b Author: Bart Van Assche Date: Thu Apr 4 10:08:43 2019 -0700 block: Revert v5.0 blk_mq_request_issue_directly() changes blk_mq_try_issue_directly() can return BLK_STS*_RESOURCE for requests that have been queued. If that happens when blk_mq_try_issue_directly() is called by the dm-mpath driver then dm-mpath will try to resubmit a request that is already queued and a kernel crash follows. Since it is nontrivial to fix blk_mq_request_issue_directly(), revert the blk_mq_request_issue_directly() changes that went into kernel v5.0. This patch reverts the following commits: * d6a51a97c0b2 ("blk-mq: replace and kill blk_mq_request_issue_directly") # v5.0. * 5b7a6f128aad ("blk-mq: issue directly with bypass 'false' in blk_mq_sched_insert_requests") # v5.0. * 7f556a44e61d ("blk-mq: refactor the code of issue request directly") # v5.0. [Bug 1829917] [NEW] laptop fails to return from suspend after kernel upgrade
Public bug reported: most of the time when i do a software update that involves installing a new kernel, the laptop fails to properly restore the screen when returning from the suspension. (i always reboot after doing the update, that is not the problem). I can "fix" this by getting into the power management configuration and changing something (pretty much anything) and then changing it back. Once i do this, the computer works properly after a suspend. It behaves "as if" there were some persistent state whose format or location changes in an incompatible way with each kernel release and that this gets reset by the power management app but is not cleared by the update process. this is an amd based machine with amd based graphics. kenny ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.04 Package: pm-utils (not installed) ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.15.0-50.54-generic 4.15.18 Uname: Linux 4.15.0-50-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.9-0ubuntu7.6 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: XFCE Date: Tue May 21 14:30:20 2019 InstallationDate: Installed on 2018-06-21 (333 days ago) InstallationMedia: Xubuntu 18.04 LTS "Bionic Beaver" - Release amd64 (20180426) ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm-256color PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR= LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: pm-utils UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: pm-utils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug bionic -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1829917 Title: laptop fails to return from suspend after kernel upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pm-utils/+bug/1829917/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem. 2. The behavior you expected. 3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). [Bug 1829937] [NEW] provide nvidia GL stack in a subdirectory again to make it bind-mountable for containers
Public bug reported: Once upon a time the nvidia GL stack used to be distributed in a subdirectory instead of directly on the library path, with alternatives- managed symlinking to inject it into ld.so.conf.d. Due to the increased prevalence of container-based systems and the relevance of nvidia drivers for container workloads (AI/ML), it is important to be able to cleanly bind mount the nvidia userspace drivers into containers from the host, to ensure the userspace libraries match the version of the kernel modules. Therefore we should restore the past behavior of shipping the real files for the nvidia GL stack in a private subdirectory, so that this subdirectory can be bind mounted into containers. ** Affects: nvidia-graphics-drivers (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1829937 Title: provide nvidia GL stack in a subdirectory again to make it bind- mountable for containers To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers/+bug/1829937/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 1829873] Re: gpgv fails on install
Hi Seth, This occurred in v. 19. I then tried v.18 install and it did not happen. Unfortunately, I can't replicate the bug as I overwrote all the 19 stuff with the 18 install and have spent the afternoon setting it up. If I get round to install 19 again, I'll let you know. Sorry for this and your wasted time, but you might as well close the issue now.
