[Bug 1831557] [NEW] Tiled plugins are not being loaded

2019-06-04 Thread Thorbjørn Lindeijer
Public bug reported:

Due to the way Tiled is packaged, it does not find its plugins.

Tiled expects its plugins to be installed to /usr/lib/tiled/plugins,
which was the case also for the Tiled Ubuntu package up to version
1.0.3. However, the current package installs the plugins into
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/tiled/plugins, which is not a directory
searched by Tiled.

Either the plugins should be moved or the application would need to be
patched.

I develop Tiled and am open for any suggestions to modify Tiled and/or
its build files to make packaging easier and less prone to this kind of
problems in the future.

[Bug 1828166] Comment bridged from LTC Bugzilla

2019-06-04 Thread bugproxy
--- Comment From tmri...@de.ibm.com 2019-06-04 02:52 EDT---
Two patches are now upstream and available in Linux 5.2-rc3:

commit 6738028dd57df064b969d8392c943ef3b3ae705d
("perf record: Fix s390 missing module symbol and warning for non-root users")

commit ed9adb2035b5be5896d465b19040262be5f4a824
("perf machine: Read also the end of the kernel")

The second one is from Jiri Olsa (Red Hat) who investigated a similar
issue,

These 2 patches should be sufficient to solve the issue.

[Bug 1828166] Re: perf top problem on z with Ubuntu 18.04

2019-06-04 Thread Frank Heimes
Thx for the analysis and the sharing of the commit IDs for the two patches from
kernel 5.2-rc3 in comment #19.
Since you mentioned three patches in comment #18 I assume the 3rd one became
obsolete?

With that I assume that:
"perf record: Fix s390 missing module symbol and warning for non-root users"
6738028dd57df064b969d8392c943ef3b3ae705d
and
"perf machine: Read also the end of the kernel"
ed9adb2035b5be5896d465b19040262be5f4a824
need to be applied to Disco, (Cosmic) and Bionic.
They will automatically land in Eoan, since kernel 5.2 is Eoan's target kernel.

Is it correct that:
edeb0c90df3581b821a764052d185df985f8b8dc
"perf tools: Stop fallbacking to kallsyms for vdso symbols lookup"
does not need to be considered anymore (neither for cosmic nor for bionic)?

[Bug 1831566] [NEW] [realtime app] not possible to redirect drivers/nvme IRQs from realtime cpuset

2019-06-04 Thread Mykyta Iziumtsev
Public bug reported:

We're running realtime application on Ubuntu 16.04 with linux-image 4.15
and found it impossible to get rid of jitter introduced by Intel NVMe
IRQs. I'm providing here a patch which solved the issue for us.

The realtime application is bound to isolated CPUs (one thread per CPU,
nohz_full= in kernel cmdline, all IRQs moved to housekeeping CPUs),
application doesn't use any linux kernel syscalls except in startup
phase so we don't expect any interruptions of the application from the
kernel or HW.

[Bug 1831514] Re: Ubuntu 19.04 system update causes boot failure

2019-06-04 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for your bug report. Do you mean that after applying those updates
you don't get to the login screen anymore?
Can you reproduce after a new install and upgrading again?

Can you boot to a command line using the recovery option and get a
"journalctl -b 1" log (assuming the previous boot was one that hit the
problem) and add it to the bug?

Try this as a workaround: edit /etc/gdm3/custom.conf and uncomment the
