Released based on the ack from Seb128 thatit would be subscribed to by

[Bug 1844487] Re: package ssmtp 2.64-8ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: le sous-processus script post-installation installé a retourné une erreur de sortie d'état 1

2019-09-18 Thread Paulo Flabiano Smorigo
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.
Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

[Bug 1764618] Re: python-API test in ubuntu_lxc will fail on X-kvm kernel

2019-09-18 Thread You-Sheng Yang
Some details for comment #4 and #5:

kvm nodes deployed for test was launched with virtio_net as network
device, so it's actually not related to the lack of ethernet device
drivers. I think enabling ethernet in kvm kernel might also be
convenient for users running virtual machines because e1000 card is the
default nic in qemu, but that's definitely out of the scope here.

[Bug 1793130]

2019-09-18 Thread Qa-admin-q
Dear Muhammad Bashir Al-Noimi,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open,
confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked
on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has
been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really
appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still
present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of
LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

[Bug 1764618] Re: python-API test in ubuntu_lxc will fail on X-kvm kernel

2019-09-18 Thread You-Sheng Yang
In Bionic or above, tests are run by autopkgtest in the lxc package.
However, its control file, https://github.com/lxc/lxc-pkg-ubuntu/blob
/dpm-xenial/debian/tests/control, doesn't seem to depend on python3-lxc,
which follows api_test in the python3-lxc package are not tested on
Bionic or above[1].

[Bug 1844514] [NEW] [Radeon HD 8830M / R7 465X] *ERROR* atombios stuck in loop for more than 5secs aborting

2019-09-18 Thread Maxime Accadia
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 18.04 freezes on every startup after GDM. This happens with DELL
Optiplex 7450 All In One with both an Intel graphics chipset and an AMD
Graphic card.

I have tested with kernels 4.15.0-29, 4.15.0-64 and latest HWE kernel
(5.0.0-29) ; all are affected.

As a workaround, it's possible to disabled the radeon card with
modprobe.blacklist=radeon kernel parameter.

I tried to dump the video bios rom
(https://dri.freedesktop.org/wiki/TestingAndDebugging/) without success.

[Bug 1451216] Re: No notification after `sleep 30`

2019-09-18 Thread Olivier Tilloy
Merlin, by default undistract-me won't display a notification if the
window in which the long-running command is running is in focus. This
can be overridden by setting the environment variable
IGNORE_WINDOW_CHECK to 1.

Can you check whether this works for you? I.e. test setting the
environment variable, and test without it but with another window in
focus.

2019-09-18 Thread Jean-Louis Dupond via ubuntu-bugs
gnome-shell-extension-appindicator
gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons
gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock

Those 3 are installed

** Description changed:

On Eoan and Wayland the dock is hidden when you unlock your screen after
having it locked.
Clicking on 'Activities' brings it back.
+
+ This seems to only happen on Wayland (unable to reproduce on X11)
+ AND
+ When xfreerdp is running in fullscreen mode on a second screen (xfreerdp /f
/monitors:0 /v:x)

[Bug 1844517] [NEW] Loading crashes with "Out of memory" after "Loading Initial Ramdisk"

2019-09-18 Thread MrMEEE
Public bug reported:

Hi

Running Ubuntu 19.10 Eoan..

On every kernel afer 5.2.0-13 (which works), I get an "Out of memory"
error after "Loading Initial Ramdisk".. and the system just hangs
there..

If I remove "quiet" and "splash" from the command line, I can see that
the system fails to boot, because it can't find the disk.. probably
because it can't load the drivers in the ramdisk..

What to do??

Regards
Martin

[Bug 1844524] [NEW] text relocation of grep prevents its use under udevd

2019-09-18 Thread Thadeu Lima de Souza Cascardo
Public bug reported:

[Impact]
grep can't be used under udev, preventing kdump-tools to be used after a memory
hotplug.

[Test case]
Run grep with systemd-run -t --property MemoryDenyWriteExecute=yes /bin/grep
crashkernel /proc/cmdline

[Regression potential]
The fix is a simple rebuild, so should have minimal potential for regression.

-

# systemd-run -t --property MemoryDenyWriteExecute=yes /bin/grep crashkernel
/proc/cmdline
Running as unit: run-u54.service
Press ^] three times within 1s to disconnect TTY.
/bin/grep: error while loading shared libraries: cannot restore segment prot
after reloc: Operation not permitted
#

Under ppc64el, grep can't be used under udev, because it restricts
mapping to be Write+Execute, with MemoryDenyWriteExecute=yes. A rebuild
of grep under bionic fixes the issue.

[Bug 1797581] Re: Composing a VM in MAAS with exactly 2048 MB RAM causes the VM to kernel panic

2019-09-18 Thread Christian Ehrhardt 
It was already clear on the bug that for qemu I can't do much more as-is.
So I had a discussion with the Maas Team today.
To core issue for me stays that it seems it is unreproducible outside of Maas.

We agree that:
- they try to recreate it in a MAAS
- Once they can we sync and find day(s) to sit together working on this
- The mission then is to eliminate maas components and replace them with
"usual" ipxe setups one by one and thereby either identify the maas component
to analyze OR get finally a reproducible case for qemu development
- There is a fallback if until the next sprint in early 2020 the case is still
not reproducible then MAAS will also consider it incomplete/unreproducible

[Bug 1844539] [NEW] lz4 binary is not on bionic

2019-09-18 Thread Thadeu Lima de Souza Cascardo
Public bug reported:

[Impact]
linux-hwe-edge won't build on bionic.

[Test case]
Build and boot the produced kernel.

[Regression potential]
Slower boot time or non-booting kernel, depending on the compression method
used.

---

When building linux-hwe-edge 5.3 on bionic, it fails to find lz4 build
dependency, as it was previously named liblz4-tool. This breaks the
build on PPAs.
