[Bug 1849269] [NEW] The system cannot resume from S3 if user unplugs the TB16 during suspend state
Public bug reported: [Impact] Unplug TBT dock during S3 and then wakes up the system leads to system hangs. This not only happens on Dell TB16, but also Dell WD19TB. It's more like a BIOS or TBT firmware issue that TBT firmware doesn't re-create the PCIe tunnels. [Fix] Mika provides 4 patches to fix this issue, but only 2 are accepted and are included in linus' tree. We need especially the 4th commit to fix the issue, so we keep the 3rd and 4th commits as sauce patches. [Test] Verified on Dell Precision 5530 + WD19TB [Regression Potential] Low, those patches doesn't change the code path much. The 4th commit adds some checks to return failure state, and it should be safe for those machines which is working well. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: AceLan Kao (acelankao) Status: In Progress ** Affects: linux-oem (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid ** Affects: linux-oem-osp1 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu Bionic) Importance: Undecided Assignee: AceLan Kao (acelankao) Status: In Progress ** Affects: linux-oem (Ubuntu Bionic) Importance: Undecided Assignee: AceLan Kao (acelankao) Status: In Progress ** Affects: linux-oem-osp1 (Ubuntu Bionic) Importance: Undecided Assignee: AceLan Kao (acelankao) Status: In Progress ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu Disco) Importance: Undecided Assignee: AceLan Kao (acelankao) Status: In Progress ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu Eoan) Importance: Undecided Assignee: AceLan Kao (acelankao) Status: In Progress ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: Undecided Assignee: AceLan Kao (acelankao) Status: In Progress ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Eoan) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Bionic) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Disco) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Bionic) Assignee: (unassigned) => AceLan Kao (acelankao) ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Disco) Assignee: (unassigned) => AceLan Kao (acelankao) ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Eoan) Assignee: (unassigned) => AceLan Kao (acelankao) ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Focal) Assignee: (unassigned) => AceLan Kao (acelankao) ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Bionic) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Disco) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Eoan) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Focal) Status: New => In Progress -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1849269 Title: The system cannot resume from S3 if user unplugs the TB16 during suspend state To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1849269/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1849179] Re: canmount property switches to noauto in user's home dataset
I think the issue is that you installed before the final release, as the properties were renamed from `org.zsys` to `com.ubuntu.zsys` for property. As zsys isn't seeded by default, we were told to not migrate the handful of users having installed a pre-released. Can you confirm that canmount is then correctly set to "on", once you rename the user's property? ** Changed in: zsys (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1849179 Title: canmount property switches to noauto in user's home dataset To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/zsys/+bug/1849179/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Because these files come from the "shim" package, I installed it. Then, I restarted "grub-install" but it didn't have any effect, Windows still refuses to boot from Grub. [Bug 1848862] Re: HP Elitebook 840 G1 - 19.10 - Microphone mute key does not work
Thank you for the bug report. We regularly backport fixes of systemd for bugs affecting a broad set of users, but this particular problem affect only users of this specific laptop model. Could you please report the problem at systemd upstream to automatically get Ubuntu fixed, too, when packaging the first fixed upstream release? There is already a similar problem reported against an other HP EliteBook model: https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/13463 ** Changed in: systemd (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low ** Bug watch added: github.com/systemd/systemd/issues #13463 https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/13463 ** Changed in: systemd (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1848862 Title: HP Elitebook 840 G1 - 19.10 - Microphone mute key does not work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/1848862/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1849281] [NEW] seccomp: fix SECCOMP_USER_NOTIF_FLAG_CONTINUE test
Public bug reported: SRU Justification Impact: We recently backported SECCOMP_USER_NOTIF_FLAG_CONTINUE in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1847744. On a kernel that supports SECCOMP_FILTER_FLAG_NEW_LISTENER but not SECCOMP_USER_NOTIF_FLAG_CONTINUE the selftests currently fail to compile. The reason is that the ifndef for SECCOMP_USER_NOTIF_FLAG_CONTINUE is placed under the ifndef for SECCOMP_FILTER_FLAG_NEW_LISTENER. Fix: The ifndef for SECCOMP_USER_NOTIF_FLAG_CONTINUE was placed under the ifndef for the SECCOMP_FILTER_FLAG_NEW_LISTENER feature. This will not work on systems that do support SECCOMP_FILTER_FLAG_NEW_LISTENER but do not support SECCOMP_USER_NOTIF_FLAG_CONTINUE. So move the latter ifndef out of the former ifndef's scope. Regression Potential: Limited to seccomp selftests. Test Case: Compile the selftests on a kernel that supports SECCOMP_FILTER_FLAG_NEW_LISTENER but does not support SECCOMP_USER_NOTIF_FLAG_CONTINUE and see that compilations succeeds. Target Kernels: All current LTS kernels with access to a 5.0 kernel. Patches: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/kees/linux.git/commit/?h=for-next/seccomp=2aa8d8d04ca29c3269154e1d48855e498be8882f ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Christian Brauner (cbrauner) Status: In Progress ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Christian Brauner (cbrauner) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1849281 Title: seccomp: fix SECCOMP_USER_NOTIF_FLAG_CONTINUE test To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1849281/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1849320] [NEW] MAAS assigns wrong multipath NVMe device
Public bug reported: [Impact] MAAS deploys to the wrong NVMe device [Description] Since [0], the introduction of NVMe multipath brought a change in the way namespaces' "identity" is calculated. It's possible to have a "mismatch" between the nvme device names and their corresponding namespace, similar to the situation below: lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Jul 18 13:25 /sys/block/nvme0n1/device -> ../../nvme1 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Jul 18 13:25 /sys/block/nvme1n1/device -> ../../nvme0 This can cause MAAS/curtin to deploy the wrong nvme device, as it's currently using device names that are subject to change between reboots. It can be alleviated by using the nvme_core.multipath=0 parameter, but ideally we should not have MAAS/curtin rely on the device numbers. A possible solution for this is to ensure that NVMe devices are referred to by their device ID, as that should keep things consistent between reboots. [0] ed754e5dee ("nvme: track shared namespaces") https://git.kernel.org/linus/ed754e5dee [Test Case] On a system with multiple NVMe devices, deploy a Custom OS image with MAAS. As the change to device names is not completely deterministic, below are some reports of possible symptoms: - deployed OS ends up in the wrong drive - disk management presented Disk 0 as uninitialized and Disk 1 with installed OS - OS fails to boot if only primary drive was listed in boot order [Regression Potential] The regression potential for this change should be low, considering that MAAS/curtin already have the necessary support for referring to storage devices by their ID. A regression could cause deployments to fail consistently, if the nvme devices end up being indexed by wrong IDs. ** Affects: curtin Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: maas Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: maas (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete ** Tags: sts -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1849320 Title: MAAS assigns wrong multipath NVMe device To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/curtin/+bug/1849320/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
