[Bug 1859320] Re: Multiple sign-in options in menu of Ubuntu Software

2020-01-15 Thread Alan Pope 🍺🐧🐱 🦄
They appear to both have been removed. Does this impact my ability to
see my own private or unlisted snaps? I may want to publish a snap, make
it private or unlisted but still be able to review what it looks like in
the store.

[Bug 1859582] Re: System hang with kernel traces while entering reboot process on a Disco ARM64 moonshot node

2020-01-15 Thread Po-Hsu Lin
Tested #4 with the affected moonshot node, it can be rebooted normally
(however I can't activate the console this time, but at least it won't
hang.)

syslog: http://paste.ubuntu.com/p/RpTsBv9DSs/

Another thing to note is that maas will fail to deploy the node with
Disco image (5.0.0-38) today, hang with reboot, I need to turn the node
off/on manually from moonshot console to complete the deployment
process. Which I don't recall is necessary yesterday.

Thank you for your bug report. Could you give some details on the option you
choose (language, disk partitions), also at what time of the installation do
you hit the issue?
Was it a one time problem, can you try to install again and see if it has the

[Bug 1852014] Re: System froze after resume from suspend

2020-01-15 Thread James
Same behaviour for me on

Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description:Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS
Release:18.04
Codename: bionic

with kernel:
5.0.0-37-generic

If I execute the reconnect script manually things are fine, but if I add
it as a service and start it with journalctl the system freezes straight
after waking up from sleep.

[Bug 1859754] Re: add ucm to make alsa/sof driver work under PA (variants of Lenovo X1 Carbon 7th, Dell cnl and cml machines)

2020-01-15 Thread Hui Wang
** Description changed:

This ucm is only for Eoan and Bionic, for focal and future versions, we
plan to integrate the ucm2 instead of this ucm, and the ucm2 depends on
the alsa-lib-1.2.1 and pluseaudio-v14, the ucm2 is under developing by
the community, is not ready yet.
+
+ [Impact]
+ In the oem project, we have a couple of Lenovo and Dell machines which
+ connect the digital mic to PCH directly, this design needs the new
+ sound driver soc/sof, and this driver can't work under pulseaudio
+ automatically, we need to integrate the ucm for the driver, then the
+ sof dirver could work under pulseaudio and gnome.
+
+ This ucm is maintained by intel audio team, and it is not upstreamed
+ and will not be upstreamed, since the community is developing the ucm2
+ which is based on at least alsa-lib-1.2.1 and pulseaudio-v14.0 (still
+ under developing), for bionic and eoan, we have to integrate this ucm
+ since the alsa-lib version is too low. For focal and future version, we
+ are going to integrate the ucm2 after the ucm2 is ready.
+
+ This ucm is already verified in the oem project, now it is time to put it
+ into the stock ubuntu.
+
+ [Fix]
+ These ucm files are backported from sof_ucm1 branch of
+ https://github.com/thesofproject/alsa-ucm-conf.git
+
+ [Test Case]
+ Boot the eoan kernel or oem-osp1-bionic kernel, then check the log of
+ pulseaudio, the ucm files are loaded successfully, then check the
+ gnome-sound-setting, both output and input devices work well.
+
+ [Regression Risk]
+ Low, just add some new ucm files, and this will not affect other machines,
+ and those new added ucm files are only used by specific machines which enable
+ the sof driver.

[Bug 1856024] Re: [SRU] Need backport-iwlwifi-dkms in Bionic

2020-01-15 Thread Elvis Stansvik
Hi folks. I'm on bionic and got a desktop notification about "closed
drivers may be necessary..." when this SRU landed in bionic-updates.

Just to check: I only really need this package if I'm suffering from
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/backport-iwlwifi-
dkms/+bug/1859472 ? If I don't really have any issues with wifi, I can
ignore the `backport-iwlwifi-dkms` package and use the `iwlwifi` driver
that I already have from `linux-modules-extra-5.0.0-37-generic`?

Or is it recommended for everyone to install this package?

[Bug 1859773] [NEW] Apache DBD Auth not working with mysql Focal 20.04

2020-01-15 Thread Andreas Moehrlein
Public bug reported:

Using Apache DBD auth for MySQL server 8 causes an error in Focal 20.04
Same setup is working fine in 16.04 and 18.04

The following line in Apache2/conf-enabled/ causes the error:
DBDriver mysql

apache start failed:
apachectl[1188]: Can't load driver file apr_dbd_mysql.so

The file exists in
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/apr-util-1/apr_dbd_mysql.so

linking the file to
/lib/apache2/modules/
doesn't change the error message

[Bug 1859774] [NEW] Full screen window becomes "small" in the upper left of the screen...

2020-01-15 Thread Rob Frohne
Public bug reported:

This happens with a number of different programs, so I suspect it is a
window manager bug. The best way to describe it is with a screen shot.
The only responsive part of the screen is the small window in the upper
left. You can hit the little maximize box and it goes back to full
screen okay, but after a while it comes back to this. It can be
annoying, because sometimes you can't quickly see what happened to the
title bar. I'm using Ubuntu 19.10. This has been happening for about a
week.

I'd like to first rule out that this is not a duplicate of the following
bug:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dpkg/+bug/1685984

Do you have Sophos AV installed? If so, please try disabling it
temporarily and retry the update:

/opt/sophos-av/bin/savdctl disable

[Bug 1859809] [NEW] sshguard <2.1.0 doesn't match "Failed password for invalid user ..."

2020-01-15 Thread Malcolm Scott
Public bug reported:

I observe that sshguard 1.7.1-1 in bionic doesn't block SSH bruteforce
attacks which are trying to log in as nonexistent accounts.

Whilst it blocks attacks which result in auth.log messages like:
Jan 15 08:51:19 io sshd[18965]: Failed password for root from 223.223.200.14
port 48974 ssh2
it doesn't block attacks which result in:
Jan 15 11:31:15 io sshd[11997]: Failed password for invalid user guest from
58.186.196.223 port 21715 ssh2

Matching log lines which include "invalid user" was added in sshguard
2.1.0 (https://sourceforge.net/p/sshguard/mailman/message/36109171/).

I consider this a security issue since sshguard is not performing its
function -- it looks at first glance like it is working and it does
block *some* attacks, but it misses the majority.

Could this or a later version be backported to bionic?

[Bug 1859627] Re: Firefox 72 regression - HTML5 games do not load

2020-01-15 Thread Jose Manuel Santamaria Lema
Hi Olivier,

I have built a custom package for xenial with the patch mentioned here:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1603843#c7

That fixes the problem for me. I'm attaching a debdiff in case you want
to upload it as an SRU.

PPA with the fixed package:

[Bug 1838607] Re: vaultlocker service fails when some interface are DOWN with NO-CARRIER

2020-01-15 Thread Nicolas Pochet
Validation for Bionic from James Page PPA.
I created a bionic VM, configured vault on another machine and installed
vaultlocker from the repo.
Used vaultlocker to encrypt a partition:
lsblk
NAME MAJ:MIN RM SIZE RO TYPE
MOUNTPOINT
sda 8:00 20G 0 disk
└─sda1 8:10 20G 0 part /
sdb 8:16 0 5G 0 disk
└─sdb1 8:17 0 5G 0 part
  └─crypt-be9500f2-b3cd-4027-b7db-435a6bb8cd90 253:00 5G 0 crypt
/mnt/test

As described in the original bug, there's an interface that is DOWN with
NO-CARRIER:
ip l
1: lo: mtu 65536 qdisc noqueue state UNKNOWN mode
DEFAULT group default qlen 1000
link/loopback 00:00:00:00:00:00 brd 00:00:00:00:00:00
2: ens3: mtu 1500 qdisc fq_codel state UP
mode DEFAULT group default qlen 1000
link/ether 52:54:00:ad:4f:a6 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
3: ens8: mtu 1500 qdisc fq_codel state DOWN
mode DEFAULT group default qlen 1000
link/ether 52:54:00:06:3e:6c brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff

When rebooting, we can see the following in the logs:
grep mnt /var/log/syslog
Jan 15 11:07:33 vm1 systemd[1]: Dependency failed for /mnt/test.
Jan 15 11:07:33 vm1 systemd[1]: mnt-test.mount: Job mnt-test.mount/start failed
with result 'dependency'.

The version of vaultlocker is:
dpkg -l | grep vaultlocker
ii vaultlocker 1.0.3-0ubuntu1.18.10.1~ubuntu18.04.1
all Secure storage of dm-crypt keys in Hashicorp Vault

I upgraded the vaultlocker package from James Page's PPA:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:james-page/bionic
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade

dpkg -l | grep vaultlocker
ii vaultlocker
1.0.4-0ubuntu0.19.04.1~ubuntu18.04.1~ppa1 all Secure storage of
dm-crypt keys in Hashicorp Vault

Rebooting the machine does not show the same errors in the logs:

grep mnt /var/log/syslog
Jan 15 11:34:09 vm1 systemd[1]: Mounting /mnt/test...
Jan 15 11:34:09 vm1 systemd[1]: Mounted /mnt/test.

For the original bug point of view, this patch is fixing the issue in
the version proposed by James Page in his PPA. This package is in the
queue to be backported to bionic-backports.
