[Bug 1874626] Re: dav path not complete

2020-04-24 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a
bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.

[Bug 1874684] [NEW] "Show on" setting does nothing in dual-monitor setup

2020-04-24 Thread Maximilian Federle via ubuntu-bugs
Public bug reported:

I have two identical monitors that appear with the same name in
settings: Dell Inc. 25"

In the appearance settings I have three options for "Show on":

- All displays
- Dell Inc. 25"
- Dell Inc. 25"

If I want to restrict the dock to one monitor only by switch from "All
displays" to either one of the two "Dell Inc. 25"", nothing changes; the
dock is still shown on both monitors.

Gnome-shell itself has no problems differentiating both monitors and
displays its top-panel only on the primary one.

[Bug 1869186] Re: Celebrate the new server installer

2020-04-24 Thread Hans van den Bogert
this change, introduced way after the freezes in march, was really
aggravating tbh. Our automated deploys were broken on the day of the
launch as we had to hotfix the netboot url first.

This was poorly communicated for such an important change which impact
all parties, but not restricted to, using the netboot images.

[Bug 1874687] Re: stuck scrolling fix

2020-04-24 Thread Chris Guiver
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read "How to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures.

At a minimum, we need:
1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem.
2. The behavior you expected.
3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

4 years later still an issue. Just my 3 cents: perhaps move font
dependencies from `*-desktop` metapackages to correct `language-pack-*`
packages? You already have some suitable intermediate metapackages, like
`fonts-indic` or `fonts-lao`, just create such sets for, say, `fonts-
cyryllic`, `fonts-japanese`, etc.

For me there's not much difference in understanding if
Chinese/Japanese/Hindu/Arab/Georgian/Korean/Kannada/Lao/* text renders
as box-placeholders or as a correct font. I don't understand a word in
either case.

It is not that I am missing disk space or net bandwidth, it is just my
eyes bleeding on each font-selection dialog until I do a clean-up.

[Bug 1874606] Re: Cannot import .ovpn file (The Add button is greyed out) but can import via command-line

2020-04-24 Thread Jacky Boen
To be more specific, it seems the route line in the .ovpn file causes
the Network Manager UI to add the route without a gateway and that's why
the Add button is greyed out.

[Bug 1845046] Re: Bluetooth headphones default to low quality headset mode and fail to switch to A2DP when selected

2020-04-24 Thread Grzegorz Bizon
The fix works for me! Thank you very much for fixing this bug, really
appreciated!

It appears that dependencies of the new Bluez packages are also
compatible with Debian GNU/Linux. Since I use Debian, I confirm that
installing fixed Ubuntu package on Debian 11 (testing right now) also
fixes the problem.

Thank you again for fixing this <3

Yes, it is specific to the import function. If I enter details manually,

Yes, sounds pretty much like it. I have two keyboard layouts configured
(German and Catalan). Now I realized that the Super key works when the
active layout is the same as the top one in the Region & Language
settings. If I change the order in the settings dialog, then it will
work only for the language that was moved to the top.

[Bug 1874655] [NEW] After suspend / resume, WiFi does not reconnect automatically to an hidden access point

2020-04-24 Thread Alan AZZERA
Public bug reported:

After letting my laptop go to sleep, the WiFi does not reconnect anymore
to an hidden access point. I must go to the WiFi settings window, then
go to the menu where hidden networks are... hidden, and force Network
Manager to connect to the hidden AP. Note that I don't have any problem
on boot. Just when resuming for suspend mode.

This is a rather recent issue, which I never encountered before these
past months. I cannot qualify exactly the time where the bug occurred.

Could youa dd your 'journalctl -b 0' log after getting the issue (and
note the time where the bug happened to help reading the log)

The report also shows you have some extensions activated, could you try
without those? especially windowIsReady_Remover is logging some errors

[Bug 1856410] Re: ubiquity prompts for a MOK password that it then does not use

2020-04-24 Thread Dimitri John Ledkov
1) ubiquity already does list-oem which can query from ubuntu-drivers-
common if any oem stuff needs to happen

2) ubuntu-drivers-common should provide '--package-list' option on the
regular list command too

3) this way ubiquity can run 'list' with '--package-list' ahead of the
prepare stage to peak, if any dkms modules would get installed.

4) then ubiquity would be able to show the right ui when people tick
third-party drivers, i.e. determine if mok is needed or not.

5) under secureboot however, I don't think ubiquity should be trying to
install any dkms drivers as they will all fail to load. Thus it can even
skip calling `install` on them altogether.

[Bug 1874626] [NEW] dav path not complete

2020-04-24 Thread AdlerHorst
Public bug reported:

If I open this kind of path (Nextcloud):
davs://{SERVER}/remote.php/dav/files/{USER@DOMAIN}

Nautilus shows me the correct directory but setup the rootpath to
davs://{SERVER}/remote.php/dav/

The Problem is, that I'n not able to use the mounted path for anything
because I'm not able to navigate into the directory /files/

Please change behavior that way that if I enter a directory path to open
a path, it should be set as the route of the Mount in whole.

[Bug 1874568] Re: Working config in eoan, bind9 fails after upgrade to fossa

2020-04-24 Thread Timo Aaltonen
Yes, it won't work until it has been ported to 9.16, and that didn't
make it in focal, but probably as an SRU later.

Are you running freeipa-server? Did you not notice it's not even
available in focal?

[Bug 1874649] Re: Update servicelog package to version v1.1.15

2020-04-24 Thread Frank Heimes
Packages of Ubuntu releases that are already rolled out usually don't get
version upgrades (release date of 20.04 was on April 23rd).
Are you interested in particular fixes that come with this new release? And if
so can you specify their commit IDs so that they might be cherry-picked instead?

2020-04-24 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for your bug report, is tht specific to a ovpn import or do you get
the same issue if you enter the same details manually? Could you check if
changing the gateway or adding a password makes a difference on the UI?
Also could you try if nm-connection-editor has the same issue?

[Bug 1874647] Comment bridged from LTC Bugzilla

2020-04-24 Thread bugproxy
--- Comment From mihaj...@de.ibm.com 2020-04-24 04:49 EDT---
I just realized that AMD SEV faces the equivalent issue, as can be seen in
https://github.com/libvirt/libvirt/blob/master/docs/kbase/launch_security_sev.rst.
The only difference is that for Secure Execution it's the kernel command line
setting, wheras SEV uses a module parameter.

[Bug 1874661] [NEW] networkd sometimes doesn't set mtu received by dhcp

2020-04-24 Thread Christoph Ziebuhr
Public bug reported:

I'm running ubuntu-minimal-1910-eoan on google compute engine with systemd
242-7ubuntu3.7.
GCE has mtu 1460, set by dhcp. After having networking issues, I figured out
that the mtu on the interface was sometimes incorrectly set to 1500.
I manually changed it to 1420 to have a working system again and enabled
debugging for systemd-networkd.

On dhcp renew (09:51:00), mtu got properly changed to 1460.
On next dhcp renew (21:50:59) it got changed back to previous value 1420.
In all cases, /run/systemd/netif/leases/2 correctly contained MTU=1460.

There have been some changes to mtu handling in the past, I assume this
is a regression, potentially from
https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/12552 or
https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/6593.

[Bug 1874660] [NEW] Please make an "update in progress" message for snap updates

2020-04-24 Thread Richard Baka
Public bug reported:

Distro is Kubuntu 20.04
I got a notification message about the new Chromium version or about the
Chromium update (I don't remember precisely). I wanted to restart the browser
to do something helping the update so I closed it then I couldn't find the
starter icon of its.

sudo snap refresh said
snap "chromium" is already installed, see 'snap help refresh'

chromium command said chromium is not installed.

Then later I could start it again using the chromium command.

Please create a better notification about the upgrading process not just
about the update possibility!

[Bug 1874662] [NEW] Corrupted installation medium

2020-04-24 Thread Jean-Baptiste Lallement
Public bug reported:

If you have been redirected to this page, it means that your
installation of Ubuntu or a flavour failed.

If you look in the log file /var/log/syslog, you'll see messages like
the above:

Apr 24 00:01:40 ubuntu kernel: [ 329.409695] SQUASHFS error: zlib
decompression failed, data probably corrupt
Apr 24 00:01:40 ubuntu kernel: [ 329.409704] SQUASHFS error:
squashfs_read_data failed to read block 0x37545

This failure is usually caused by bad ISO download, corrupted install
media, or device failure.

We suggest you verify your ISO download, and note the validation of your
ISO before install to ensure a good download & write.
