In Ubuntu 20.04 eog just shows the message "Could not load image . Unrecognized image file format". The HEIF gdk-pixbuf loader itself seems to work correctly, because gcpicview is able to display HEIF images even on Ubuntu 20.04. It's just eog that doesn't seem to use the loader anymore. What is seen by pavucontrol is not relavent. When jack is running pavucontrol should show no devices except possibly a bluetooth device. Instead jack becomes the default "device" or sink, which is what we want. However, the traceback does give indication that in some cases the sound card may not have a description. Just booted the focal release image (with netplan 0.99-0ubuntu2) on a pi3 with a valid wifi config in network-config, and I'm afraid it's the same as ever: the wifi config is present in /etc/netplan but hasn't been activated. Running "sudo netplan apply" after logging in brings everything up successfully. re: comment10, I haven't checked wait-online service with a non-optional configuration yet though; that's next on the list. Th problem doesn't exist on boot, it only arises if the PC was sleeping / suspended. It also happens most of the time but not all the time. it does happen regardless of whether the TV was on or off when the PC was waking up. it also happens regardless of whether the soundbar connected to the TV was on or off. to fix it, I have to reboot. I confirm that it still works with ubuntu 19.10 up to date. However, I can't navigate in the windows network. The folder remains empty. A better approach would be a cifs mount where you can dictate the dialect of smb but for smbclient to connect you need to add "client min protocol = NT1" and NOT "client max protocol" to your smb.conf - then restart smbd. Thank you for your help but I only indicated some tests I had done after internet research before posting here. Anyway, despite the changes in the smb.conf that I mentioned at the beginning of my post, especially concerning the smb1 protocol, smbclient doesn't work. As I said before posting the debug file, my smb.conf is back to its initial state, the one that worked under UBUNTU 19.10, and works on my laptop under eoan. Indeed I read several times that SMB1 was no longer supported under UBUNTU 20.04, does this mean that my NAS (192.168.1.110) won't be able to be seen by Nautilus other than through a CIFS mount ? As I said, this is the workaround I used, but it's a shame... I`m not able to commit changes to remote repo provided by libapache2

This is a small piece of the log when watching a log. the i915 eDP driver receives a "hotplug event received", which corresponds with a slingle flickering of the screen. So I assume something goes wrong with retraining the link, or for some reason the screen thinks that the pc is disconnected and triggers an interrupt, which then for some other reason flickers the screen. it didn't happen in default Horizon. In our production cloud
environment, keystone policy is "identity:get_project":
"rule:cloud_admin or rule:admin_and_matching_target_project_domain_id or
project_id:%(target.project.id)s". If user is not a cloud_admin, the
admin user of a project, need to be member of the domain to satisfies
the rule.
The problem here is the admin user should not get logged out.
It is probably caused by horizon/static/framework/framework.module.js

the permission to perform an operation, the user would get logged out from UI
pages written in the AngularJS framework. For example, if an admin user lacks
the get_project permission and tries to access the

@swnw: Thanks for posting that link on "boot-repair" . . . I think I have an older version of it, but it didn't seem "easy" and it didn't always help out in my multi-boot situation. But, might be worth a try. Interesting that with a new install of ubuntu the problem reappeared, over the years if grub got messed up often times running a fresh install would "fix" grub . . . seemingly in this case, the opposite.
