[Bug 1888380] Re: Give better experience of migration of deb to snap
Note: this message is only shown when Chromium is actually migrated, not when a user installs the `chromium-browser` package manually. Given that this was the way to install chromium in previous released, many users do this without reading the description of the package. These users are also surprised that the snap is installed. It might be useful to show the message to everyone who installed chromium using the apt package. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1888380 Title: Give better experience of migration of deb to snap To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/1888380/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

linux-headers-5.8.1-050801_5.8.1-050801.202008111432 and booting with secure boot disabled will not anything. Still no sound, and the command workaround still works. [Bug 1890956] Re: [Gateway NE722] Mouse and keyboard stop working after suspend
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ubuntu ** Description changed: Description: Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS Release: 20.04 dm3: Installed: 3.34.1-1ubuntu1 Candidate: 3.34.1-1ubuntu1 Version table: *** 3.34.1-1ubuntu1 500 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu focal/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Booting off of a live usb, the trackpad, external mouse, and internal keyboard stop responding to input after suspend. On my updated install, the laptop trackpad works, but the other two inputs do not after suspend/wake. I can log in using the on screen keyboard. Unplugging the mouse and plugging it in does not fix it. The inputs don't respond while logged in either. Only a reboot fixes it. [Bug 1551949]
(In reply to kaz from comment #16) > If you're not going to make it work, the least you could do is not fake the > appearance, you know? Would it be difficult to pop up a dialog box or > something? I'm sympathetic to where you're coming from, but this bug is filed against the platform code and is about implementing the missing functionality in the platform code. Platform developers do not make decisions about adding/changing frontend UI such as opening dialog boxes, so you would need to file a new bug against the 'Firefox' component to get that attention. As for the rest of the discussion, from my perspective as a platform dev it adds a lot of text that we have to read through to check we're not missing anything once we get around to trying to fix this bug. The more bugs we have with conversations like that, the more unproductive time is used up reading through comments that don't help inform the development work involved. You're all welcome to comment, but please do keep that in mind and try to keep unnecessary comments to a minimum. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1551949 Title: Printing to PDF file loses URLs/links To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/thunderbird/+bug/1551949/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I disagree. To "strip hyperlinks of their functionality while retaining their styling", as you put it, is equally what happens when printing to paper. So some web page authors might set such CSS to counteract this behaviour. > Maybe the save-to-PDF feature should pull a piece of CSS from behind the magic curtain, and apply it to de-style the links that it has no intention of making work. This is somewhat off-topic for this bug report, which is about what happens when one uses the built-in feature of macOS to generate a PDF from the print dialog. Bug 162659 would be a better place to discuss this. > I'm pretty sure this entire bug is not about using a "PDF driver under any OS" but saving a PDF from Firefox to a file. It's not going to be handled in the web page CSS, is it. Because the web page author doesn't care that you're using Firefox to save the page as PDF, and that it happens to strip hyperlinks of their functionality while retaining their styling. [Bug 1065126]
I do not understand why this bug has taken this long to get resolved. At least one scenario is that FF simply opens the dialogue box giving the option to choose what software to open the attachment but the "Do this Automatically for files like this from now on" is selected.
