[Bug 1803604]
There is a new twist to this saga. With LO 7.0.1.2 today I get an error message /home/mbm/.claws-mail/mimetmp/.comments: unlink: Is a directory ** (claws-mail:12915): WARNING **: 10:04:23.190: failed to convert encoding of file name: Invalid byte sequence in conversion input malloc_consolidate(): invalid chunk size This happens whether I set email (Tools,Option) as blank, or as xdg-email In either case, using my proposed patched form of sesnddoc, I get a Claws-mail error window within a Compose window. On acknowledging the message, Claws crashes. If I use the version of senddoc that comes with LO 7.0.1.2, I get no Compose window, and Claws-mail simply crashes. This was working ok a fortnight ago, with LO 7.0.1.2 Claws-mail has not changed in Ubuntu 20.04 since then. I wonder whether uri-encode is no longer working properly? And if I export my LO document to a file, then I can Compose, and attach that file, and send, all ok -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1803604 Title: [upstream] "Send -> Document as e-mail" in Writer / Calc does not work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/df-libreoffice/+bug/1803604/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1857584] Re: MySQL X protocol port 33060 listening on network by default
I don't think having the port open by default is acceptable. It was clearly an oversight when the new MySQL version was prepared, and I suspect a lot of users are now running an open port without knowing about it. While publishing out an update that closes the port may break certain configurations, I don't think it is appropriate to leave it open by default. As such, I will be preparing a security update for focal that closes the open port, along with an appropriate USN that notifies users about the change in behaviour. ** Changed in: mysql-8.0 (Ubuntu Focal) Assignee: (unassigned) => Marc Deslauriers (mdeslaur) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1857584 Title: MySQL X protocol port 33060 listening on network by default To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-8.0/+bug/1857584/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1905469] Re: USB3.0 lost after 18LTS->20LTS upgrade
In order to allow additional upstream mainline kernel developers to examine the issue, at your earliest convenience, could you please test the latest mainline kernel? Please keep in mind the following: 1) The one to test is in a folder at the very top of the page (not the daily folder). 2) The release names are irrelevant. 3) The folder time stamps aren't indicative of when the kernel actually was released upstream. 4) Install instructions are available at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds . If testing on your main install would be inconvenient, one may: 1) Install Ubuntu to a different partition and then test this there. 2) Backup, or clone the primary install. If the latest kernel did not allow you to test to the issue (ex. you couldn't boot into the OS) please make a comment in your report about this, and continue to test the next most recent kernel version until you can test to the issue. Once you've tested the mainline kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this issue is not reproducible in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon, next to the word Tags, located at the bottom of the Bug Description: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-X.Y-rcZ Where X, and Y are the first two numbers of the kernel version, and Z is the release candidate number if it exists. If the issue is reproducible with the mainline kernel, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-X.Y-rcZ Please note, an error to install the kernel does not fit the criteria of kernel-bug-exists-upstream. Also, you don't need to apport-collect further unless specifically requested to do so. In addition, to keep this issue relevant to upstream, please continue to test the latest mainline kernel as it becomes available. Lastly, it is most helpful that after testing of the latest mainline kernel is complete, you mark this report Status Confirmed. Thank you for your help. ** Package changed: linux-hwe-5.8 (Ubuntu) => linux (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1905469 Title: USB3.0 lost after 18LTS->20LTS upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1905469/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1903952] [NEW] focal:linux-hwe-5.8 lttng-modules dkms failure
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Impact: lttng-modules-dkms fail to build on Focal with the linux-hwe-5.8 kernel. Fix: Use version 2.12.2 instead of 2.11.2. That would bring it in line with the version used in groovy. Testcase: Attempt to build the currently-available 2.11.2 - observe that it fails. Create a new package using the groovy source package, confirm that it builds and installs successfully. Furthermore, I was able to successfully manually modprobe all the .ko files that were built. Regression potential: Technically this doesn't work on the 5.8 hwe kernel in focal right now, so it cannot be any more broken than it currently is. The 2.12.2 version is identical to the one currently used in groovy. ** Affects: lttng-modules (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- focal:linux-hwe-5.8 lttng-modules dkms failure https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1903952 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1905285] Re: socket-activated sshd breaks on concurrent connections
Hello Segio, Have you tried editing ssh@.service as well? In my case, sshd.service -> ssh.service and that is not used when ssh is in socket-activated mode, ssh@.service is, at least that's how I understand systemd. I now understand how to override the unit files with [unit- file].d/override.conf files and that at least fixes the overwrite on update issue (although I must say it's a bit unintuitive, since some of the /usr/lib/systemd/system configs are symlinked from /etc/systemd/system and IIRC you should be allowed to modify configs under /etc, but I digress). AFAICT that's precisely what `systemctl edit` does. [Bug 1835660] Re: initramfs unpacking failed
NAK on the linux patch. I think this is a grub bug. When loading multiple initrds, grub aligns_up each one of them at 4bytes boundary, and allocates pages for that. [Bug 1868703] Re: Support "ad_use_ldaps" flag for new AD requirements (ADV190023)
Verification for sssd on Bionic: The customer tested sssd from -updates, version 1.16.1-1ubuntu1.6 and the package from -proposed, version 1.16.1-1ubuntu1.7. Begins: Before applying the patch [package from -proposed] I confirmed open ports to our domain controllers using ss and grepping for the DC IPs. Before the patch 389 and 3268 were being actively used. After the patch [installing the package from -proposed] (and after running a few user queries with `id`) ports 636 and 3269 were being used. Ends. This matches my testing and testing Tobias has done, so happy to mark sssd as verified for Bionic. ** Tags removed: verification-needed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1868703 Title: Support "ad_use_ldaps" flag for new AD requirements (ADV190023) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/cyrus-sasl2/+bug/1868703/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1894017] Re: Keyboard not working
chassis_type 31 is "Convertible", so we expect the intel-vbtn SW_TABLET_MODE reporting to work there. There was one other HP model which had a bit of a weird issue, this was fixed by: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=d823346876a970522ff9e4d2b323c9b734dcc4de But that workaround got dropped when we switched to ignoring SW_TABLET_MODE on all devices where the chassis_type is not 31 or 32, since the model which needed that fix ("HP Pavilion 11 x360") uses a chassis_type of 10, so that workaround was no longer needed. So now it seems that we should not have dropped the workaround as possibly more HP models need it. If you can build your own 5.9.10 kernel with the linked workaround applied, and test it that would be great. There should be docs somewhere on how to build an ubuntu kernel with patches applied yourself. If you do not feel up to doing this yourself, then please say so, then one of the Ubuntu devs should be able to provide a test kernel with the patch added for you. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1894017 Title: Keyboard not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1894017/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1877844] Re: [SRU] data corruption issue in all versions before 1.1.11
Given this is a *known data corrupting bug* declared by upstream, it would seem really odd to hold up the release for bionic and focal, where the solution is just an upgrade to the upstream version containing the fix! [Bug 1884432] Re: Kate does not show in applications
I have found how to reproduce the bug! [Desktop Action Session ...] ... [Desktop Action Session ...] ... [Desktop Entry] ... 5) suddenly, kate icon moves to the bottom on the dash bar, when clicked by the right mouse button, you can no longer pin it nor find it among the dash applications 6) you have to manually open ~/.local/share/applications/org.kde.kate.desktop and move the [Desktop Entry] block to the beginning of the file -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1884432 Title: Kate does not show in applications To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kate/+bug/1884432/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1905741] [NEW] poppler 0.62.0-2ubuntu2.11 and 0.41.0-0ubuntu1.15 security updates break Splash output
Public bug reported: The security updates 0.62.0-2ubuntu2.11 and 0.41.0-0ubuntu1.15 break the Splash output rendering, for example if using the xpdf utility that relies on Poppler splash output, or as used by the GDAL library (the issue was detected due to breakage in GDAL continuous integration tests) I've traced the root cause to those security updates enabling in 'rules' CMYK (--enable-cmyk for 0.41.0-0ubuntu1.15 and -DSPLASH_CMYK=ON for 0.62.0-2ubuntu2.11) Building without CMYK restore poppler in a working state. It should be noted that even on the upstream 0.41.0 version, enabling CMYK result in a non-functional build, so it is not related to the patches applied on top of it, but really on enabling CMYK The issue can be verified with "xpdf test_ogc_bp.pdf" with the attached test_ogc_bp.pdf file. With the new packages, xpdf crashes, whereas with older ones it displays a 20x20 greyscale image. Or with "gdal_translate test_ogc_bp.pdf out.png -of PNG" when installing the "gdal-bin" package, that currently errors out with a message like "ERROR 1: Bitmap decoded size (18623872x0) doesn't match raster size (20x20)" ** Affects: poppler (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "Sample file that make xpdf crash currently" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1905741/+attachment/5438256/+files/test_ogc_bp.pdf -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1905741 Title: poppler 0.62.0-2ubuntu2.11 and 0.41.0-0ubuntu1.15 security updates break Splash output To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/poppler/+bug/1905741/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
