[Bug 1958007] [NEW] Regression in 5.13.0-23: laptop cannot suspend or turn off
Public bug reported: Starting from 5.13.0-23-lowlatency my laptop fails to suspend, turn off or reboot. On suspend the screen turns off, but the power button LED stays on (it should be blinking when suspended), the keyboard backlight and the CPU fan stays on. I cannot resume the laptop by pressing the power button or any other button. On power off and restart I see the splash screen and nothing happens. The last working Ubuntu kernel is 5.13.0-22-lowlatency. 5.13.0-23-lowlatency and 5.13.0-25-lowlatency are broken. I also tried the latest upstream mainline kernel, linux-image-unsigned-5.16.0-051600-lowlatency_5.16.0-051600.202201091830_amd64.deb, and it doesn't have this regression. An update to my system has broken italics support in gnome terminal. This makes
it hard to edit latex files with VIM, since VIM will show all text within
\emph{} as boxes.
If I type the following command at the prompt
=> echo -e "\e[3mfoo\e[23m"
I get three empty boxes where the letters "foo" should be. See the
attached screenshot.

[Bug 1958013] [NEW] System freeze during Shutdown, Restart, or Suspend
Public bug reported: Dear developers, My system freezes whenever I try to 1) shutdown, 2) restart, or 3) suspend it. System gets unresponsive (keyborad, mouse, network - ssh/ping from outside), screen turns black. However, non of the actions 1-3 gets finished, i.e. my system does not turn off, restart, or sleep. Hw reset needed after it. It is always reproducible and happens for kernels linux-image-5.11.0-41-generic and later. Does not happen for kernels linux-image-5.11.0-40-generic and earlier.
