[Bug 1958625] Re: unattended gesture feature
Thanks for the bug report. It looks like the touchscreen thinks either a button is held down or a finger is touching the screen during the downward cursor movement. Please try running 'sudo evtest' in a separate window to log all the touchscreen events, and see if you can find evidence of the kernel thinking that is the case. If so then this should be reassigned to the kernel (if not a hardware problem). ** Changed in: mutter (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1958625 Title: unattended gesture feature To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1958625/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1958629] [NEW] Deprecation warnings about Proc.new
Public bug reported: Upon running e.g. Puppet's r10k, which makes use of ruby-faraday (version 0.15.4-3), a few lines of deprecation warnings are thrown on every invocation: # /usr/bin/r10k deploy environment -p /usr/lib/ruby/vendor_ruby/faraday/options.rb:166: warning: Capturing the given block using Proc.new is deprecated; use `&block` instead /usr/lib/ruby/vendor_ruby/faraday/options.rb:166: warning: Capturing the given block using Proc.new is deprecated; use `&block` instead /usr/lib/ruby/vendor_ruby/faraday/options.rb:166: warning: Capturing the given block using Proc.new is deprecated; use `&block` instead /usr/lib/ruby/vendor_ruby/faraday/options.rb:166: warning: Capturing the given block using Proc.new is deprecated; use `&block` instead /usr/lib/ruby/vendor_ruby/faraday/options.rb:166: warning: Capturing the given block using Proc.new is deprecated; use `&block` instead Apparently this is all known and fixed upstream already, see https://github.com/lostisland/faraday/pull/1082. Mind you that this is NOT an upgrade per se, but 0.17.x is the same as 0.15.4 with just bugfixes (see https://github.com/lostisland/faraday/blob/main/CHANGELOG.md#v0171). So updating this package to use 0.17.x would fix the issues without being an actual upgrade. Essentially it boils down to a single patch that likely fixes this particular issue: https://patch- diff.githubusercontent.com/raw/lostisland/faraday/pull/1009.patch, maybe that one could at least be applied if updating to 0.17.x is not feasible? ** Affects: ruby-faraday (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1958629 Title: Deprecation warnings about Proc.new To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ruby-faraday/+bug/1958629/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1958631] [NEW] Flickering internal monitor
Public bug reported: Hello everybody, Recently my internal monitor on my laptop (HP Pavilion Gaming 15) starts flickering after boot. On my laptop I have Geforce 1660 Ti beside AMD Renoir. Formerly I had the problem of not detecting the external monitor but solved it. Now this problem has arisen. I have also updated the kernel to 5.13 recently. I would appreciate any solution to the problem. [Bug 1958635] [NEW] Dock + window menus unresponsive after attempting to do an area screenshot
Public bug reported: Reproduced this issue several times, but it doesn't happen all the time. After trying to take a screenshot of an area, the screenshotting may fail and the ubuntu dock and all window menus become unresponsive. Mouseover on the dock will change the cursor to the plus-sign used when selecting the area to screenshot, but nothing happens if you try to click or click/drag. Shift+Print Screen will allow you to try to click/drag and the pointer stops becoming a plus-sign after this, but the dock and menus are still unresponsive. Alt+F2 & r seems to resolve the issue. [Bug 1942245] Re: Option to change login screen color missing
Thank you for your suggestions. However, the changes you are requesting aren't really a bug and require more discussion, which should be done on an appropriate mailing list or forum. http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community/mailinglists might be a good start for determining which mailing list to use. Posting on https://discourse.ubuntu.com/ will also attract the attention of the Desktop Team developers who might consider your suggestions or give their reasons why they cannot or will not be considered. However, please be aware that suggestions 1 and 3 might go against Ubuntu policy and that suggestion 5 has long been available by installing the "Tweaks" application and changing the default option under "Window Titlebars". ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New => Opinion -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1942245 Title: Option to change login screen color missing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1942245/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thanks. It looks to me that there is a phantom touch event at the start of the gesture. So gnome-shell is behaving correctly: Event: time 1642755262.679902, type 1 (EV_KEY), code 330 (BTN_TOUCH), value 1 This means it is either a kernel bug or a hardware fault relating to the touchscreen. ** Package changed: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) => linux-hwe-5.13 (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: linux-hwe-5.13 (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1958625 Title: unattended gesture feature To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-hwe-5.13/+bug/1958625/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1958592] Re: Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV in mieqEnqueue() from queueEventList() from QueueKeyboardEvents() from xf86PostKeyEventM() from xf86PostKeyboardEvent()
Possibly fixed after 20.04? I might try upgrading some day I have plenty of time then. If I then stop getting the crashes, I could mention that here. And if I still get them, I guess I could mention that. It's pretty random when it happens, but I guess it should happen at least once per month, especially if I type a lot or install certain Plover plugins (system switcher and VLC commands). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1958592 Title: Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV in mieqEnqueue() from queueEventList() from QueueKeyboardEvents() from xf86PostKeyEventM() from xf86PostKeyboardEvent() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1958592/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1958639] [NEW] Intel WiFi 6 AX210 hardware stops working
Public bug reported: I am running Ubuntu 20.04.3: $ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS Release:20.04 I am running Ubuntu on a Lenovo ThinkPad P14s with Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX210 Wi-Fi interface. This used to work up to kernel 5.11.0-46 (which loaded iwlwifi "firmware version 59.601f3a66.0 ty-a0-gf-a0-59.ucode op_mode iwlmvm"). [Bug 1957810] Re: impish: ddebs build take too long and times out
This is a build time comparison between linux 5.13.0-28.31 and 5.13.0-27.29 * amd64 - before: 3 hours, 22 minutes - after: 2 hours, 19 minutes * arm64 - before: 15 hours, 49 minutes, - after: 15 hours, 12 minutes * armhf - before: 10 hours, 59 minutes - after: 9 hours, 41 minutes * ppc64el - before: 1 hour, 54 minutes - after: 1 hour, 32 minutes * s390x - before: 44 minutes - after: 29 minutes For the architecture that are suffering with longer build times and timeouts, arm64, there's only a marginal percentual improvement (less than 4%) in the build time meaning that there are other areas for improvements. The build logs don't contain timestamps so we don't have the information about how much time it was taken to build the dbgsym packages, however with the apparent improvement of the build time for all architectures, even though this is a too small of a data sampling for an statistical analysis, we can consider this change to have been beneficial and successfully verified. ** Tags removed: verification-needed-impish ** Tags added: verification-done-impish ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Impish) Status: In Progress => Fix Committed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1957810 Title: impish: ddebs build take too long and times out To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1957810/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1958642] [NEW] New 2.37.50.20220119-0ubuntu1 Produces RWE load header on s390x
Public bug reported: Building libxcrypt with the new binutils upload 2.37.50.20220119-0ubuntu1 in proposed produces binaries with one RWE LOAD header instead of two LOAD headers (one RE, one RW); causing it to fail to load in services that use MemoryDenyWriteExecute=yes, thus breaking a ton of systemd services. ** Affects: binutils (Ubuntu) Importance: High Status: New ** Changed in: binutils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1958642 Title: New 2.37.50.20220119-0ubuntu1 Produces RWE load header on s390x To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/binutils/+bug/1958642/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1957094] Re: on-demand mode doesn't work with nvidia-390
Hi Jeremy, It's not your fault. This is something your sponsor is supposed to have checked. @Alberto Please could you properly review this, make sure it meets SRU policy, try to anticipate and answer any questions the SRU team might have in advance, and then work with Jeremy to resubmit to the queue? It's not good enough just to sponsor and leave - for example in this case it'd just get lost because Jeremy isn't aware that the upload needs to be resubmitted. You need to stick with your sponsorees all the way through until SRUs land in -updates and no regressions have been found please. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1957094 Title: on-demand mode doesn't work with nvidia-390 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/oem-priority/+bug/1957094/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1958492] Re: Keyboard layout doesn't switch to japanese when using a Japanese (109-key) keyboard and the system language is english
My bad, it's just "Japanese" (I didn't run the installation again just to check the exact hardcoded text for the bug report). My point was that the physical actual keyboard is a japanese one with 109 keys (the usual in japanese keyboards). The japanese layout has some keys that just plainly don't exist in other layouts (全角/半角, 変換, 無変換,カタカナ・ひらがな, a \ to the left of the small right shift, and a yen sign to the left of its small backspace). Sorry for the confusion. What I'm saying is that the layout in the OS doesn't change at all. Note how I never said "I can't type in Japanese" in the bug report. I could if I -like you said- changed input mode to Hiragana in mozc. But that's not how you do it with a japanese keyboard. With a japanese keyboard (and correct layout) you just press the 全角/半角 (zenkaku/hankaku) key which changes input mode between direct input and the currently/last used kana mode (usually hiragana, but might be katakana), no need to use menues. Even if Input Mode was in Direct Input the layout should be in Japanese regardless of being unable to type in japanese characters. eg: If I press the key to the right of the P it should type @ like in the Japanese keyboard, not a [, if I press shift-7 it should be a single quote not an ampersand, etc. Like I said, I don't know if it's even a mozc problem, and I fixed it by explicitly setting the layout to "jp" in ibus/component/mozc.xml which maybe points to ibus, rather than mozc itself. One of the first things I said is that mozc probably wasn't the right place for this bug report. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1958492 Title: Keyboard layout doesn't switch to japanese when using a Japanese (109-key) keyboard and the system language is english To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mozc/+bug/1958492/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
