The following upstream stable patches should be included in the Ubuntu kernel: v5.17.5 upstream stable release from git://git.kernel.org/ ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu Jammy) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: kernel-stable-tracking-bug ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Tags added: kernel-stable-tracking-bug ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Jammy) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1973280 Title: Jammy update: v5.17.5 upstream stable release To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1973280/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1973258] Re: downloads won't work in any directory apart from the default one using any browser.
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Libera.chat. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1973258/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1973283] [NEW] dh with tempdir doesn't install into tempdir
Public bug reported: We are using the following rule while doing builds for Synergy (https://github.com/symless/synergy-core). > dh $@ --buildsystem=cmake --builddirectory=build -Pbuild/debian --parallel It appears on 22.04, the temporary directory gets ignored at some point and the project binaries get installed into the source debian directory. [Bug 1871030]
Alternative workaround step 2, leaving system config files untouched: Copy /usr/share/dbus-1/services/org.kde.kdeconnect.service to ~/.local/share/dbus-1/services/ and change the Exec= line of the copy to Exec=/usr/bin/false When combined with step 1 of my workaround, this prevents kdeconnectd from launching in that user's sessions. It adds some clutter to the session log, as dbus-daemon complains that the executable is failing, but it gives up after several tries and seems to remain quiet after that. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1871030 Title: There's no Option to Disable the Startup of KDEConnect To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/kdeconnect-desktop/+bug/1871030/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1973203] Re: Kubuntu does not shut down properly
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: Hello I'm having issues with Kubuntu 22.04 on a Thinkpad X1 Carbon 4th generation. After a clean install without encryption, when I turn off the laptop, it does not shut down properly (some lights on my keyboard stay turned on even though the power button goes black), so I have to press the power button during 7 seconds to turn it off and then I can turn it on again. It seems to be a similar error to this one: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cryptsetup/+bug/1972086 Also, the standby mode does not work: When I go into standby mode, some lights on my keyboard stay on and I can't get my laptop to exit the standby mode, unless I am turning it of by pressing the power button and then restart my system. And one more thing: When I boot into Ubuntu 22.04 or Kubuntu 22.04 using an USB stick, it takes about 5 minutes while other Linux versions (including Ubuntu 20.04 lts) it takes only a few seconds. Also there is none of the above problems in Ubuntu 20.04 lts. If you need any more information, just ask but please also give me a hint on how to get the information as I am not really familiar with linux-systems. Best regards! [Bug 1973203] WifiSyslog.txt
apport information ** Attachment added: "WifiSyslog.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1973203/+attachment/5589469/+files/WifiSyslog.txt ** Description changed: Hello I'm having issues with Kubuntu 22.04 on a Thinkpad X1 Carbon 4th generation. [Bug 1973288] [NEW] Since Jammy, Alt+Tab is not working properly
Public bug reported: Since the upgrade to jammy alt+tab doesn't work any more properly when hitting it very fast. Doing a slow Alt+Tab works fine, but just quickly hitting the two keys will not switch the window any more, instead a notification bubble will appear says "Application XYZ is ready". It kinda feels like it's a race between the alt+tab and the focus stealing prevention. I.e. if one is fast enough, the windows are swapped before the focus stealing prevention realizes that the user actually wants to change focus and prevents the new window coming to the front, just displaying the notification bubble instead. FWIW, this is on X11, not sure if wayland would be affected too as wayland is not an option for the Dell XPS yet due to HighDPI screen scaling not working good enough yet. [Bug 1971935] Re: Invalid pipefs-directory prevents rpc-gssd.service from starting
Sorry for the late response. From what I can see we don't really implement any dependency chain when configuring NFS/Kerberos on Ubuntu. A update on some findings. If we either revert OVS commit [4], OR change a open vswitch kernel data path function [5] to always return 'false' (credits to Numan), the problem goes away. [Bug 1971955] Re: systemd-udevd call unshare process when attaching nvme volume
Hi Vincent, if I understand it correctly, this command scans the inserted media for snapd assertions and imports them. It's still not clear to me what's happening: even if you are running on a classic system, the "auto-import is disabled on classic" is just a notification and not an error: the program still exits with a 0 exist status. Yet, in the logs you provided, it appears as if the exist status is 1. Could it be that the error is not coming from "snap auto-import", but rather from the "unshare" command? Can you please try to manually edit the file (after making a copy of it!) and change the RUN line into RUN+="/usr/bin/unshare -m /bin/echo hello" and see if you still get those errors in the log? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1971955 Title: systemd-udevd call unshare process when attaching nvme volume To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/dellserver/+bug/1971955/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1973297] [NEW] HP Probook 450 G8 model T87 support in kernel
Public bug reported: [Impact] The mic mute/audio mute LEDS are not work on HP Probook 450 G8 model T87 [Fix] It needs the specific quirk for the hardware layout. Thus, add the quirks to make it works. [Test] After applying the quirk, the audio/mic mute LEDs are working good. [Where problems could occur] Hewlett-Packard released this year new submodels for some G8 models of laptops and changed subsystem PCI ID for these new submodels. HP published special information about this in the next document: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_5789324-5789376-16 For example, even HP Probook 450 G8 model listed in sound/pci/hda/patch_realtek.c, in the laptop with recent T87 submodel audio/mic mute LEDs not working because of changed subsystem PCI ID. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete ** Tags: laptop leds mute sound -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1973297 Title: HP Probook 450 G8 model T87 support in kernel To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1973297/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
