Couple of questions: 1.sounds like this is a catastrophic issue that block fresh Ubuntu 24.04 Beta installation, isn't it? 2. so we have to wait for the new ISO image that includes the new grub2? If yes, when do we expect to get the new ISO image. Now we are doing some early evaluation work for Ubuntu 24.04 Beta with a tight schedule. It would be greatly helpful if there is a workaround. I believe it was meant to optimize VSync on KWin Eventually, KWin upstream developers had set KWIN_USE_INTEL_SWAP_EVENT environment variable by default, but then reverted it due to performance issues (https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/merge_requests/627). As a recap, this patch addresses the problem of moving vms between hosts running cgroups v1 (e.g. Ubuntu Focal) and v2 (Ubuntu Jammy) which now has a cap of 10K [1] for cpu.weight, resulting in vms with > 9 vcpus not being able to boot if they use the default Nova 1024 * guest.vcpus. The patch addresses the problem by no longer applying a default weight to instances while keeping the option to apply quota:cpu_shares from a flavor extra-specs. The consequence of this is: Vms booted without quota:cpu_shares extra-specs after upgrading to this patch will have the default cgroups v2 weight of 100. New Vms can get a higher weight if they use a flavor with extra-specs quota:cpu_shares BUT this will only apply to existing vms if they are resized so as to switch to using the new/modified flavor which will require workload downtime - a vm reboot will not consume the new value. Vms created from a flavor with extra-specs quota:cpu_shares set to a value > 10K will fail to boot and to fix this will require a new/modified flavor with adjusted value then vm resize to consume therefore workload downtime. It is important to note that point 3 is not a consequence of this patch and is therefore neither introduced nor resolved by it and will require a separate patch solution. One way to resolve this could be to have Nova cap quota:cpu_shares at cgroup cpu.weight max value and log a warning to say that was done, that way instances will at least boot and have a max weight. Therefore I am in favour of proceeding with this SRU to provide users a way to migrate from v1 to v2 and suggest we propose a new patch to address the flavor extra-specs issue. As @jamespage has pointed out there are some interim manual solutions that can be used as a stop-gap until this is fully resolved in Nova. [Bug 2056315] [NEW] xrdp-pulseaudio-installer fail
Public bug reported:
Trying to setup sound redirection in xrdp.
Installed xrdp-pulseaudio-installer_0.9.5-2 from bionic repos without any
errors.
Next step is command "xrdp-build-pulse-modules"
it should get path for repos server, but it's wrong:
"dget
pulseaudio/pool/Version:/p/pulseaudio/pulseaudio_1:15.99.1+dfsg1-1ubuntu2.1.dsc"
that happens because some problems in file /usr/sbin/xrdp-build-pulse-
modules:
1. wrong path in line "pulseaudio_version=$(dpkg-query -W
-f='${source:Version}' pulseaudio)"
because it get 1:15.99.1+dfsg1-1ubuntu2.1 but there is no this file, and
only is 15.99.1+dfsg1-1ubuntu2.1
2. it don't adds mirror and suite variables in path. Probably, in this
file it should be http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ and main
2.2 but there is no 15 version in debian repos

So I changed this line to remove anything before ":" and them too:
pulseaudio_version=$(dpkg-query -W -f='${source:Version}' pulseaudio | cut
-d":" -f2-)
and add 2 vars before "Download source packages" section:
mirror="http://ru.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/;
suite=main
So script worked a little bit more
there was a problem with the gpg key that I added (getting warning anyway), but
in the end I get:
