[Bug 928642] [NEW] Firefox keeps crashing after uptade to v10

2012-02-07 Thread Ahmed Shams
Public bug reported:

Just started to use v 10 and it keeps crashing. I can not disable and addons
because whenever I click Restart Now, it quits then a Send Report box
appears, after restarting, all addons that wait for disabling still pending a
restart to deactivate.
I've rebooted and it doesn't crash so far, but I did almost nothing but
reporting this bu. I'll update as it goes.

2011-09-24 Thread Ahmed Shams
This bug report is being closed due to your last comment regarding this being
fixed with a release upgrade.
@Glen, Thanks for testing. As it disappeared from Oneiric it might still exist
on other order or LTS releases.

disappeared, if you still afected by this bug please file a new report, to do
so, please hit Alt+F2 and type:
ubuntu-bug xserver-xorg-input-synaptics

[Bug 463067] Re: Dell D600 doesn't see mouse button1 up events

2011-09-26 Thread Ahmed Shams
Hi Glen,
Thanks for reply, I thought that you've started to use Oneiric, but as you
don't let's debug it in your current release, please open your terminal(press:
Ctrl+Alt+T) and enter the following commands(preferred one at atime):
apport-collect 463067
xinput test AlpsPS/2 ALPS DualPoint TouchPad ~/xinput-test.log
evtest /dev/input/event7 ~/evtest.log

the second command will be logging all ButtonPress ButtonRelease
you'll do, so please press and release immediately to check if something
delays the ButtonRelease event.

Thanks and sorry for misunderstanding.

@Felix, Sorry for confusion. Would try the solution on bug #554980
comment 5 to see if it works for you too? There are many bugs look to be
duplicates of this one someway, like that one, bug #44 and bug
#476866 hope we can merge them and forward all as one.

Hello all,
Thank you for uploading the requested files. It seems to be a kernel's bug more
than a synaptics, thus it's move to linux, and kernel's team will handle it.

[Bug 806962] Re: Pinch to zoom and other Multitouch features not working.

2011-08-18 Thread Ahmed Shams
Hello raid517,
I'm so sorry for your suffering with this annoying bug.
As much as I know, it's caused because Synaptics people didn't announce their
protocol to handle this device's events, thus kernel can't really handle it.
Anyway, please help me to figure out if it's really the case in your machine or
just the same symptom for totally different case. To do so, please open your
terminal and run the following commands:

apport-collect 806962
cat /proc/bus/input/devices ~/Desktop/devices.txt
xinput --list-props SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad
~/Desktop/xinput_list-props.txt

please allow apport to send it's collected logs, then please attach the
'devices.txt' and 'xinput_list-props.txt' files from your Desktop
directory to this bug report. By this I'm checking if it's a kernel
issue or synaptics'.

Thank You.

[Bug 815163] Re: [EEPC-1215p] touchpad does weird things after a few minutes of use

2011-09-05 Thread Ahmed Shams
SA Omer,
Actually, this bug is not in the synaptics driver, because the driver loads
fine then replys:
[ 493.650] SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: Read error No such device in the
'XorgLog.txt' file.
My best guesses was, it's in Ubuntu Kernel, something happened(mostly
misconfiguration) during compiling it. So, I'm moving this bug to the
Kernel(linux) package, to get Kernel Team's Opinion.

Thanks.

2011-09-07 Thread Ahmed Shams
Hello Everybody,
Thanks for testing and help debugging, before marking it as a duplicate, can we
make sure it is, just to avoid wasting time. To do so,
Please do the following twice, one time with Unity Loaded and another whith no
Unity, (More info at foot note[1]):
Please open your terminal(Ctrl+Alt+T), then enter:
xinput test ETPS/2 Elantech Touchpad ~/Desktop/xinput-test.txt
While running that command please consider testing all problematic features.
After that, please attach the file 'xinput-test.txt' from your Desktop to this
report/email.

[1]
 * To use Unity(If you don't):
Logout then click on your name at login screen, from then down bar choose
'Ubuntu', then login.

[Bug 573786] Re: Synaptics touchpad horizontal scroll doesnt work (10.04 and 10.10)

2011-07-31 Thread Ahmed Shams
@Stoo, in order to confirm this bug we'll need to document it well
before forwarding to upstream developers, all what we need to is to run
this command: 'apport-collect 573786' from your terminal and please give
a hint about your machine's manufacturer/model.

@Andrew @Anton_K: thank you for reporting and reopening this bug I
understand that this bug is annoying, but in fact upstream developers
have a strict rule that ONLY the Bug's original reporter is the one
whose logs config files will be used to investigate the problem.
That's because one problem can have the same symptoms while causes may
vary. So, would you please file a separate bug using this command:
'apport-bug xserver-xorg-input-synaptics' from your terminal and and
please just give a hint about your machine's manufacturer/model, thanks.
