[Bug 1430696] Re: Bluetooth audio instability: Bluetooth: hci0 SCO packet for unknown connection handle
Same problem here on a DELL Latitude E7440 with Linux Mint 17.3 (based on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS) installed. Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't (sound output works better than input, microphone seems not available). In VMware Player, the headset is not recognized to add as a removable device into the VM. However if I use an almost identical headset, also a Plantronics Voyager but with a bluetooth usb dongle, I get no problems at all and I am able to add it as a removable device into the VM. [Bug 1668621] [NEW] No restart of Docker daemon after docker.io package is updated
Public bug reported: In our setup using Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial, Rancher as orchestration and docker.io package from the Ubuntu repos, we've already hit twice a problem after the docker.io packages was updated (once manually, once through unattended upgrades). The first time new containers couldn't be deployed/started anymore and I documented this on the following article: https://www.claudiokuenzler.com/blog/689/rancher-error-response-from-daemon-dockerd-deleted-no-such-file-or-directory The second time (discovered a few days ago and fixed today) cross communication between containers on host #1 and containers on host #2 didn't work anymore. thanks to the logs in /var/log/apt/ I saw that an update of docker.io was installed . A manual restart of the Docker daemon solved the problems in both cases. The root cause seems to be a lack of a "stop" of the Docker daemon in a preinst file followed by a "start" (or a "restart" to keep it simple) of the Docker daemon in a postinst file. [Bug 1565679] Re: No console/display output after boot
Hello Christopher, I installed the 4.7.0-040700rc6-generic mainline kernel and the problem still exists. # uname -a Linux ub1604test 4.7.0-040700rc6-generic #201607040332 SMP Mon Jul 4 07:34:26 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux I booted with the new kernel. At the login prompt the screen goes dark. I unplugged the VGA cable and connected it at the back (primary) VGA adaptor of the server and I could see the login prompt. Logged in. Unplugged the VGA cable from the back and connected it to the front VGA connector again. Screen went dark. Let me know if I can do more to help. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1565679 Title: No console/display output after boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1565679/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1565679] Re: No console/display output after boot
Actually my screen was connected on the front VGA connector, therefore: [3.197764] [drm] Connector 1: [3.197770] [drm] VGA-2 [3.197778] [drm] DDC: 0x6c 0x6c 0x6c 0x6c 0x6c 0x6c 0x6c 0x6c [3.197785] [drm] Encoders: [3.197791] [drm] CRT2: INTERNAL_DAC2 I just tested the same with Ubuntu 14.04 trusty and the front VGA doesn't show anything. [Bug 1434991] Re: python attributeError 'SSLTimeoutError' after upgrade
I have released a new version of check_esxi_hardware which adds compatibility between the old/unpatched pywbem 0.7.0 and patched pywbem 0.7.0. Other distros (e.g. openSUSE) was also affected by it. Please check it out on http://www.claudiokuenzler.com/nagios-plugins/check_esxi_hardware.php However the whole pywbem upstream and Linux distro patching must be looked at separately and improved. For years now the same version (0.7.0) was used. Upstream seemed dead, came back in September 2014 and seems dead again. Distros started applying own patches without having an official upstream release etc. That's sad :-( -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1434991 Title: python attributeError 'SSLTimeoutError' after upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pywbem/+bug/1434991/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1494141] [NEW] HAProxy 1.5 init script does not terminate processes
Public bug reported: On a new installation of Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS I installed HAProxy 1.5 from trusty-backports (1.5.4-1ubuntu2.1~ubuntu14.04.1). When I restarted HAProxy, I got random HTTP 503 although the backend servers were all working fine. By checking netstat, I saw that HAProxy was listening multiple times on the frontend ports. It seems that the init script coming with the installation does not work correctly. The processes are not terminated correctly when using stop (or restart, in this matter, either). Only with a kill I was able to correctly terminate the HAProxy processes. The following output should show more clarity: root@mylinux:~# netstat -lntp Active Internet connections (only servers) Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State PID/Program name tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:80800.0.0.0:* LISTEN 4653/haproxy tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:80800.0.0.0:* LISTEN 4221/haproxy tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:80 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 956/nginx tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:22 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 855/sshd tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:80900.0.0.0:* LISTEN 4653/haproxy tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:80900.0.0.0:* LISTEN 4221/haproxy tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:80990.0.0.0:* LISTEN 4653/haproxy tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:80990.0.0.0:* LISTEN 4221/haproxy tcp6 0 0 :::22 :::*LISTEN 855/sshd root@mylinux:~# service haproxy stop * Stopping haproxy haproxy [ OK ] root@mylinux:~# service haproxy status haproxy not running. root@mylinux:~# netstat -lntp Active Internet connections (only servers) Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State PID/Program name tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:80800.0.0.0:* LISTEN 4653/haproxy tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:80800.0.0.0:* LISTEN 4221/haproxy tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:80 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 956/nginx tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:22 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 855/sshd tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:80900.0.0.0:* LISTEN 4653/haproxy tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:80900.0.0.0:* LISTEN 4221/haproxy tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:80990.0.0.0:* LISTEN 4653/haproxy tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:80990.0.0.0:* LISTEN 4221/haproxy tcp6 0 0 :::22 :::*LISTEN 855/sshd root@mylinux:~# killall haproxy root@mylinux:~# netstat -lntp Active Internet connections (only servers) Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State PID/Program name tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:80 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 956/nginx tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:22 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 855/sshd tcp6 0 0 :::22 :::*LISTEN 855/sshd root@mylinux:~# service haproxy start * Starting haproxy haproxy [ OK ] root@mylinux:~# netstat -lntp Active Internet connections (only servers) Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State PID/Program name tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:80800.0.0.0:* LISTEN 8205/haproxy tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:80 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 956/nginx tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:22 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 855/sshd tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:80900.0.0.0:* LISTEN 8205/haproxy tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:80990.0.0.0:* LISTEN 8205/haproxy tcp6 0 0 :::22 :::*LISTEN 855/sshd root@mylinux:~# service haproxy restart * Restarting haproxy haproxy [ OK ] root@nzzad-lb01-test:~# netstat -lntp Active Internet connections (only servers) Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State PID/Program name tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:80800.0.0.0:* LISTEN 8286/haproxy tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:80800.0.0.0:* LISTEN 8205/haproxy tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:80 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 956/nginx tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:22 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 855/sshd tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:80900.0.0.0:*

[Bug 1024475] Re: libnss-ldap causes boot hang on Ubuntu 12.04 Precise
I ran into this issue today and I'm very surprised this issue is that old. This bug makes Ubuntu as an LDAP client unusable. #17 did help for faster booting of the machine, but that's it. Any command is still so slow, the machine is useless. #2 tried it like this: - Adapted init script /etc/init.d/libnss-ldap like mentioned - created /etc/nsswitch.conf.local which does NOT contain ldap - created /etc/nsswitch.conf.ldap which does contain ldap This again works for a very fast boot, but once libnss-ldap is started (and therefore the ldap version of nsswitch.conf becomes active), the system is bloody slow again. #1 works to regain a "normal" system with local logins but ldap logins still time out. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1024475 Title: libnss-ldap causes boot hang on Ubuntu 12.04 Precise To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libnss-ldap/+bug/1024475/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1325971] [NEW] Wrong LVM pv size by using installer
Public bug reported: Hello, According to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage#When_installing_Ubuntu_.28or_Derivatives.29 bugs in the installer (of Ubuntu Server) need to be reported against the package debian-installer. I got a weird partitioning setup after having done a manual partitioning. I created one primary partition for the root/slash partition (with 10GB) and two extended partitions tagged as Linux LVM. Partition table: Disk /dev/sda: 1799.8 GB, 1799798437888 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 218813 cylinders, total 3515231324 sectors Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes I/O size (minimum/optimal): 262144 bytes / 786432 bytes Disk identifier: 0x00021c16 Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sda1 *153619531775 9765120 83 Linux /dev/sda219533310 3515229695 17478481935 Extended Partition 2 does not start on physical sector boundary. /dev/sda519533312 11718758348827136 8e Linux LVM /dev/sda6 117189120 3515229695 1699020288 8e Linux LVM As you can see, /dev/sda5 has a size of around 50GB. /dev/sda6 fills up the rest of the disk (which is around 1.7TB) I then created the Volume Groups vgsystem and lxc in the installer. For vgsystem I chose the PV /dev/sda5 and to my big surprise the installer took a size of 1.6TB instead of the 50GB (which is the size of the partition). I deleted and recreated the VG/PV but this bug could be reproduced all the time. [Bug 1855140] Re: haproxy package misses creation of default stats socket path
Thanks, Christian, for your response. I agree, this might likely have a bigger impact than expected (I only figured this out after package analysis), because a lot of packages now depend on systemd for the package installation - yet systemd does not run in Docker. That's (most likely) the reason why the official HAProxy docker image builds on Alpine Linux which uses Open RC as init system. I could of course switch to Alpine but during early development phase of that container I wanted to use Ubuntu 18.04 for additional troubleshooting purposes. It will probably come down whether or not the Ubuntu packages officially support being installed/run in a Docker container or not. I can already imagine the fuss and heavily debated conversations about this topic :-/ . Let me know if I can be of help somehow. ** Summary changed: - haproxy package misses creation of default stats socket path + haproxy package misses creation of default stats socket path in Docker container -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1855140 Title: haproxy package misses creation of default stats socket path in Docker container To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/haproxy/+bug/1855140/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Can't edit my comment (#2) so I just wanted to correct the sentence "That's (most likely) the reason why the official HAProxy docker image builds on Alpine Linux which uses Open RC as init system.". The official HAProxy Docker image runs on Debian but also supports Alpine Linux. The big difference there: They don't install HAProxy from a deb package but rather build HAProxy from source (during image build). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1855140 Title: haproxy package misses creation of default stats socket path in Docker container To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/haproxy/+bug/1855140/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1863210] [NEW] apache2 event mpm: keeps hanging in gracefully finishing when reloading (logrotate)
Public bug reported: This is Apache2 bug 53555 (https://bz.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=53555). It was fixed in 2.4.25 but on Ubuntu Xenial, Apache2 runs with 2.4.18 and the fix was not backported yet. This particular Apache2 setup runs with event mpm and is used as reverse proxy in front of a Tomcat (but that's irrelevant I guess). [Bug 1855140] Re: How to handle tmpfiles.d in non-systemd environments
Hi Christian According to https://www.debian.org/vote/2019/vote_002#outcome the decision was to use "Systemd but we support exploring alternatives". >From the proposal: "Packages should include service units or init scripts to start daemons and services. Packages may use any systemd facility at the package maintainer's discretion, provided that this is consistent with other Policy requirements and the normal expectation that packages shouldn't depend on experimental or unsupported (in Debian) features of other packages. Packages may include support for alternate init systems besides systemd and may include alternatives for any systemd-specific interfaces they use. Maintainers use their normal procedures for deciding which patches to include." >From my understanding this means that supporting an alternative init system is optional ("Packages may include support for alternate init systems besides systemd"). So basically this is up to the package maintainer whether or not the package should support an alternative init system. Given the (still rising) popularity of Docker/Kubernetes containers, it would indeed by very nice that the affected packages (such as haproxy) do adjust for a non-systemd environment. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1855140 Title: How to handle tmpfiles.d in non-systemd environments To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/haproxy/+bug/1855140/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1940525] Re: check_http regression, 2.2 ignores -k Host header
Hi Robie Thx for checking. The problem with the host header set by -H parameter is that it automatically applies the port, if a port is used with the -p parameter. $ /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_http -I 127.0.0.1 -H www.example.com -p 8083 -v GET / HTTP/1.1 User-Agent: check_http/v2.2 (monitoring-plugins 2.2) Connection: close Host: www.example.com:8083 (this can cause problems depending on the infrastructure, e.g. using load balancers forwarding the requested host header to the backend) To get rid of the port in the Host header, the workaround using -k and defining the "Host" header again has worked in the past. But it seems that by using a combination of -H and -k "Host" the previous behaviour can be established again: $ /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_http -I 127.0.0.1 -p 8083 -k "Host: www.example.com" -H www.example.com -v |more GET / HTTP/1.1 User-Agent: check_http/v2.2 (monitoring-plugins 2.2) Connection: close Host: www.example.com So it's strange, that the "Host" header is ignored when using -k - but in combination with -H it works. Example with a 'docker pull': root@dockerhost:~# docker pull rancher/rke-tools:v0.1.78 v0.1.78: Pulling from rancher/rke-tools 540db60ca938: Pulling fs layer 0ae30075c5da: Pulling fs layer 9da81141e74e: Pulling fs layer b2e41dd2ded0: Pulling fs layer 7f40e809fb2d: Pulling fs layer 758848c48411: Pulling fs layer 4aa8101d7589: Pulling fs layer 68bd44136930: Pulling fs layer ae3790b81ced: Pulling fs layer f9c62a2baf95: Pulling fs layer 759049e20249: Pulling fs layer 6713b6a87a77: Pulling fs layer e1631138f00b: Pulling fs layer 063b41c39c12: Pulling fs layer c7844f3999c4: Pulling fs layer d8473758fa62: Pulling fs layer f83b3d05af4e: Pulling fs layer open /var/lib/docker/tmp/GetImageBlob573083372: no such file or directory However a restart does re-create the missing folders: root@dockerhost:~# service docker restart root@dockerhost:~# ll /var/lib/docker/ total 44 drwx--x--x 4 root root 4096 Nov 11 13:49 buildkit drwx--x--- 2 root root 4096 Nov 11 13:49 containers drwx-- 3 root root 4096 Nov 11 13:49 image drwxr-x--- 3 root root 4096 Nov 11 13:49 network drwx--x--- 3 root root 4096 Nov 11 13:49 overlay2 drwx-- 4 root root 4096 Nov 11 13:49 plugins drwx-- 2 root root 4096 Nov 11 13:49 runtimes drwx-- 2 root root 4096 Nov 11 13:49 swarm drwx-- 2 root root 4096 Nov 11 13:49 tmp drwx-- 2 root root 4096 Nov 11 13:49 trust drwx-x 2 root root 4096 Nov 11 13:49 volumes This happens with docker.io 20.10.x on both Ubuntu 18.04 Bionic and 20.04 Focal. [Bug 1950751] Re: docker.io 20.10.x does not create sub-directories in /var/lib/docker on start (but does on restart)
> I see you run "service docker stop" before deleting the contents of "/var/lib/docker" but I do not see that in your first example, service docker stop is part of the general clean up strategies, for Rancher related Docker hosts anyway (see https://www.claudiokuenzler.com/blog/674/reset-clean-up-a-rancher- docker-host). So yes, this command definitely happened. The command would also throw a ton of errors, if Docker service would still be running due to busy/opened files. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1950751 Title: docker.io 20.10.x does not create sub-directories in /var/lib/docker on start (but does on restart) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/docker.io/+bug/1950751/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1940525] [NEW] check_http regression, 2.2 ignores -k Host header
Public bug reported: With Ubuntu 20.04 focal, the monitoring-plugins package is at version 2.2 This seems to have introduced a regression in the check_http plugin: When using -k parameter to set a "Host" header, this is ignored instead of used. In 2.1.2 on Ubuntu 16.04, the following behavior is seen: # /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_http -I 127.0.0.1 -p 4007 -k "Host: www.example.com" -v |more GET / HTTP/1.0 User-Agent: check_http/v2.1.2 (monitoring-plugins 2.1.2) Connection: close Host: www.example.com Ubuntu 20.04 with monitoring-plugins 2.2: # /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_http -I 127.0.0.1 -p 4007 -k "Host: www.example.com" -v |more GET / HTTP/1.0 User-Agent: check_http/v2.2 (monitoring-plugins 2.2) Connection: close ** Affects: monitoring-plugins (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1940525 Title: check_http regression, 2.2 ignores -k Host header To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/monitoring-plugins/+bug/1940525/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
