not work, it falsely recognizes only the first line as part of the

[Bug 255983] [NEW] openjdk label display in swing ui elements needs additional vertical space

2008-08-08 Thread Fritz Heinrichmeyer
Public bug reported:

i am on Ubuntu 8.04.1, effect is the same on i386 and amd64, Package:
openjdk-6-jre, Version: 6b11-2ubuntu2

Swing UI elements (lists, labels) have additional vertical space, some
applets user interfaces are therefore broken with openjdk. In contrast
sun-java6-jre works fine with tvbrowser and other applets. I attached a
good and a bad png-image. The java program to render the example is ugly
but still useable with openjdk but i think the error is shown clearly in
comparison of the bad openjdk.png with the good sun sun-java.png.

[Bug 133801] Re: adept-manager: description field contains manteiner's email

2008-07-31 Thread Fritz Heinrichmeyer
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 68949 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/68949

Marking this bug as duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/68949
is wrong.

Bug #68949 is about wrong description fields, this one is about correct
description fields, but wrong label of description column.

Although there may exist common reason for this bugs they describe
completely different phenomenons.

[Bug 255983] Re: openjdk label display in swing ui elements needs additional vertical space

2008-08-20 Thread Fritz Heinrichmeyer
copying

etc/java-6-openjdk/fontconfig.bfc

from the package openjdk-6-jre-headless_6b09-0ubuntu2_amd64.deb

to /etc/java-6-openjdk

helped here on an amd64 box. I think the same will work for other
architectures accordingly.

BTW:
Which action is supposed to restore the files in /etc/java-6-openjdk?
To confirm the mentioned effect i deleted /etc/java-6-openjdk and did not find
the right apt-get install --reinstall package command to rebuild this
directory. However of course it was no problem to reconstruct the directory by
hand.

[Bug 353314] Re: view does not refresh on remote message move

2009-04-16 Thread Fritz Heinrichmeyer
evolution-exchange persistently shows an old content of the trash folder
(in german: Gelöschte Objekte). Deleting messages works in evolution,
but change is not reflected in view. I controlled with the web interface

This is the best reproduceable

model change not reflected in view error

of exchange i observed. It does not help to leave exchange, to type
evolution --force-shutdown, to use the refresh context menu (in german

It is really nice to use the exchange calendar with evolution. It would
be nice if i could trust in what i see with email also. Every time i

[Bug 478538] Re: OpenOffice.Org Word Processor crash on launch of Bibliography Database

2009-11-26 Thread Fritz Heinrichmeyer
[SOLUTION] install openoffice.org-base or the complete openoffice.org.
If installed from cdrom, openoffice is not completely installed.
Bibliography need the database module. I can imagine that this module
was not packed due to cdrom size constrains.

There should be a warning somewhere for this fact.

[Bug 463353] Re: [users-admin] Modifying settings of an existing user has no effect

2009-11-02 Thread Fritz Heinrichmeyer
my problem was not fixed by this patch:

I created the other users on my box at work some days before with gnome-
system-tools after a fresh install of karmic-rc, but am not able to
change passwords with the gui. I tried with random password and with
typing a password two times by hand.

I had immediately success on the other side when using sudo passwd
username like in old days.

I changed passwords and even rebooted without effect. Of course this
actions should have effect immediately. After changing password i should
be able to login as this other user with the newly set password.

the new title of this bug is IMO wrong, as i was able to set contact
info of my other users. Only password setting seems to fail (so the old
title was wrong too :-) )

[Bug 278932] [NEW] intrepid boot hangs with ich4 fujitsu siemens box with workaround

2008-10-06 Thread Fritz Heinrichmeyer
Public bug reported:

Hardy kernels and selfcompiled 2.6.27-rc kernels with disabled libata
and enabled ide drivers booted on this year 2002 (i believe) motherboard
with ich4 chipset and celeron 2.4 GHz cpu.

Sorry at the moment i am not able to give more information about the
motherboard (later at home).

I also found a way to use the intrepid linux packages:
adding a line with the word ata_piix to /etc/modules and then updating
/boot/initrd.img-2.6.27-5-generic seems to influence hardware detection in the
right way.

I guess booting a live cd would have hanged on this box, as it uses the
same generic kernel and initramfs?

[Bug 244353] Re: OpenOffice exports PDF with arabic numerals instead of regular numbers

2008-09-30 Thread Fritz Heinrichmeyer
Today i recognized this buggy behavior (numbers in wrong eventually
hebraic -- i don't know -- font in exported pdf) with newest openoffice
from ubuntu. I had to create PDF from a document with heavy formula use.

My workaround with best result: Print to generic postscript printer,
choose print to file and create pdf from this output.

Some month ago i continued my work on a windows box and forgot to
report a bug for this reason.

in firefox (ctrl+shift+j).

When i delete signons3.txt in the profile directory the password database and
an new usable signons3.txt is built up successive again when logging in my
websites.

It seems to me that data records are separated by ---. I don't want to post
this database files :-) btw.

The first record in the old database makes no sense to me. But until now i found
no way to repair the old database by deleting or changing lines.

Maybe encryption has changed?
