[Bug 71160] Re: Unable to connect, and gets frozen when retrying on AMD64

2008-03-10 Thread Gilles PIETRI
I've just tried it on a 64 bits system on debian, it went OK, so I guess
the bug was corrected!

Thanks

[Bug 71160] Re: Unable to connect, and gets frozen when retrying on AMD64

2007-09-05 Thread Gilles PIETRI
I'm running on a 32 bits processor as my main computer now, so I
wouldn't know. I may try when I get my hands back on a 64 bits though.

Thanks for your concern, even if it's surprising nobody else reported
something related..

[Bug 376168] Re: Annoying freeze of some apps (gnome-terminal, xchat, audacious..)

2009-10-17 Thread Gilles PIETRI
I'm running karmic and have been doing so for a few weeks now, but since
I have other problems (flash issue with pulseaudio, other drivers
issues), I can't really tell if I encountered that issue or not, though
I have encountered no freeze until now.

[Bug 376168] Re: Annoying freeze of some apps (gnome-terminal, xchat, audacious..)

2009-07-14 Thread Gilles PIETRI
I think there is a lib doing something wrong, or a driver not working properly.
I installed a fresh 9.04 64 bits system on this setup, and I'm affected as well.
I can now say that xterm is not affected by this, neither seems to be gedit.

I'm gonna go further in checking libs used, and drivers that could be impacted.
My guess is that it is hda_intel related, or that it has to do with some sound
lib. It is really hard work to pinpoint that bug...
I can say that it has nothing to do with pulseaudio, as without it, it still
freezes.

I'm outputting my lspci as well..

[Bug 384884] Re: Desktop temporarily freezes

2009-08-24 Thread Gilles PIETRI
That makes me think of the bug I still have on 9.04, ubuntu kernel:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/376168

Not sure if it's related, anyway, I'll try a kernel upgrade too..

[Bug 376168] [NEW] Annoying freeze of some apps (gnome-terminal, xchat, audacious..)

2009-05-13 Thread Gilles PIETRI
Public bug reported:

Hi,

Since I upgraded to Ubuntu 9.04 / Jaunty, I experience a really annoying
bug that I can't pinpoint.

What happens:
At a point, a given set of apps will freeze for a few moments. These apps
include gnome-terminal and xchat mainly, but more interestingly some apps are
totally free from the bug: firefox/thunderbird, gedit, nautilus..

Since audacious would stop playing at the same time, I thought that
pulseaudio was the cause (everybody knows it's always pulseaudio's
fault), but once it was gone, the bug would still occur. So it appears
pulseaudio is simply impacted by the issue.. but for a reason, even
though when the freezing occurs, I can start a new song and have
audacious play it.. while the other apps are still frozen.

This is how a typical trace would look like on the bugging apps when a freeze
occurs (obtained through alt+sysrq+t):

[Bug 376168] Re: Annoying freeze of some apps (gnome-terminal, xchat, audacious..)

2009-05-22 Thread Gilles PIETRI
OK.. I guess I will never know. Out of frustration, I installed a Ubuntu
9.04 64 bits on this computer, and now it's working fine.. We shall see
until when ;)

I guess this can be closed, since I won't go further probably (unless
someone is interested.)

Regards

[Bug 1405289] [NEW] network-manager reports usb link as disconnected

2014-12-23 Thread Gilles Pietri
Public bug reported:

When I plug my Motorola XT910 (Razr Max) as USB, with connection sharing
on USB enabled on the phone, network-manager sees it, but reports it as
disconnected. If I activate the usb0 interface manually (ifconfig /
dhclient), it works, flawlessly.

I set network manager to log debug info, this is what I get, once the device is
plugged in (MAC S/N removed) :
