[Bug 71160] Re: Unable to connect, and gets frozen when retrying on AMD64
I've just tried it on a 64 bits system on debian, it went OK, so I guess the bug was corrected! [Bug 71160] Re: Unable to connect, and gets frozen when retrying on AMD64
I'm running on a 32 bits processor as my main computer now, so I wouldn't know. I may try when I get my hands back on a 64 bits though. [Bug 376168] Re: Annoying freeze of some apps (gnome-terminal, xchat, audacious..)
I'm running karmic and have been doing so for a few weeks now, but since I have other problems (flash issue with pulseaudio, other drivers issues), I can't really tell if I encountered that issue or not, though I have encountered no freeze until now. -- Annoying freeze of some apps (gnome-terminal, xchat, audacious..) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/376168 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 376168] Re: Annoying freeze of some apps (gnome-terminal, xchat, audacious..)
I think there is a lib doing something wrong, or a driver not working properly. I installed a fresh 9.04 64 bits system on this setup, and I'm affected as well. I can now say that xterm is not affected by this, neither seems to be gedit. I'm gonna go further in checking libs used, and drivers that could be impacted. My guess is that it is hda_intel related, or that it has to do with some sound lib. It is really hard work to pinpoint that bug... I can say that it has nothing to do with pulseaudio, as without it, it still freezes. I'm outputting my lspci as well.. ** Attachment added: lspci output http://launchpadlibrarian.net/29012408/lspci -- Annoying freeze of some apps (gnome-terminal, xchat, audacious..) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/376168 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 376168] [NEW] Annoying freeze of some apps (gnome-terminal, xchat, audacious..)
Public bug reported: Hi, Since I upgraded to Ubuntu 9.04 / Jaunty, I experience a really annoying bug that I can't pinpoint. What happens: At a point, a given set of apps will freeze for a few moments. These apps include gnome-terminal and xchat mainly, but more interestingly some apps are totally free from the bug: firefox/thunderbird, gedit, nautilus.. Since audacious would stop playing at the same time, I thought that pulseaudio was the cause (everybody knows it's always pulseaudio's fault), but once it was gone, the bug would still occur. So it appears pulseaudio is simply impacted by the issue.. but for a reason, even though when the freezing occurs, I can start a new song and have audacious play it.. while the other apps are still frozen. This is how a typical trace would look like on the bugging apps when a freeze occurs (obtained through alt+sysrq+t): xchat: May 7 22:03:20 cameleon kernel: [266940.278003] xchat S 00200282 0 16695 1 May 7 22:03:20 cameleon kernel: [266940.278003] f634fef8 00200086 f634fec0 00200282 0001 c0687340 c07b4500 May 7 22:03:20 cameleon kernel: [266940.278003] f40bcb60 f40bcdd8 c2841600 03f871f7 c2841600 f431666f f29e f40bcdd8 May 7 22:03:20 cameleon kernel: [266940.278003] 00200282 c350 0001 f634ff3c f634ff18 c0501f62 c350 May 7 22:03:20 cameleon kernel: [266940.278003] Call Trace: May 7 22:03:20 cameleon kernel: [266940.278003] [c0501f62] do_nanosleep+0x92/0xc0 May 7 22:03:20 cameleon kernel: [266940.278003] [c0153063] hrtimer_nanosleep+0xf3/0x180 May 7 22:03:20 cameleon kernel: [266940.278003] [c0152420] ? hrtimer_wakeup+0x0/0x20 May 7 22:03:20 cameleon kernel: [266940.278003] [c0501f4f] ? do_nanosleep+0x7f/0xc0 May 7 22:03:20 cameleon kernel: [266940.278003] [c0153150] sys_nanosleep+0x60/0x70 May 7 22:03:20 cameleon kernel: [266940.278003] [c0103f6b] sysenter_do_call+0x12/0x2f May 7 22:03:20 cameleon kernel: [266940.278003] xchat S f634e000 0 16696 1 May 7 22:03:20 cameleon kernel: [266940.278003] f0031af8 0086 f0031ab8 f634e000 f6c4e480 f6c4e480 c07b4500 May 7 22:03:20 cameleon kernel: [266940.278003] ed1a57f0 ed1a5a68 c284c600 03f87b01 c284c600 dc665eb8 f29e ed1a5a68 May 7 22:03:20 cameleon kernel: [266940.278003] f0031c10 0292 0100 f0031b6c c0501ea5 007b May 7 22:03:20 cameleon kernel: [266940.278003] Call Trace: May 7 22:03:20 cameleon kernel: [266940.278003] [c0501ea5] schedule_hrtimeout_range+0x135/0x150 May 7 22:03:20 cameleon kernel: [266940.278003] [c014f017] ? add_wait_queue+0x37/0x50 May 7 22:03:20 cameleon kernel: [266940.278003] [c01cc184] ? __pollwait+0x64/0xe0 May 7 22:03:20 cameleon kernel: [266940.278003] [c01c38af] ? pipe_poll+0x2f/0xb0 May 7 22:03:20 cameleon kernel: [266940.278003] [c01cbfda] do_select+0x4ca/0x610 May 7 22:03:20 cameleon kernel: [266940.278003] [c01cc120] ? __pollwait+0x0/0xe0 May 7 22:03:20 cameleon kernel: [266940.278003] [c0133d00] ? default_wake_function+0x0/0x10 May 7 22:03:20 cameleon kernel: [266940.278003] [c01312dd] ? find_busiest_group+0x15d/0x7f0 gnome-terminal: May 6 23:48:33 cameleon kernel: [186853.369640] gnome-termina S f5de4000 0 16810 1 May 6 23:48:33 cameleon kernel: [186853.369640] f5c3bef8 00200082 f5c3bec0 f5de4000 0001 f0287880 c0687340 c07b4500 May 6 23:48:34 cameleon kernel: [186853.369640] edcbf110 edcbf388 c2841600 f5c3bf3c c2841600 723dd54c a9e4 edcbf388 May 6 23:48:34 cameleon kernel: [186853.369640] 00200282 c350 0001 f5c3bf3c f5c3bf18 c0501f62 c350 May 6 23:48:34 cameleon kernel: [186853.369640] Call Trace: May 6 23:48:34 cameleon kernel: [186853.369640] [c0501f62] do_nanosleep+0x92/0xc0 May 6 23:48:34 cameleon kernel: [186853.369640] [c0153063] hrtimer_nanosleep+0xf3/0x180 May 6 23:48:34 cameleon kernel: [186853.369640] [c0152420] ? hrtimer_wakeup+0x0/0x20 May 6 23:48:34 cameleon kernel: [186853.369640] [c0501f4f] ? do_nanosleep+0x7f/0xc0 May 6 23:48:34 cameleon kernel: [186853.369640] [c0153150] sys_nanosleep+0x60/0x70 May 6 23:48:34 cameleon kernel: [186853.369640] [c0103f6b] sysenter_do_call+0x12/0x2f May 6 23:48:34 cameleon kernel: [186853.369640] gnome-termina S f0242000 0 16813 1 May 6 23:48:34 cameleon kernel: [186853.369640] f020de48 00200082 c015aee3 f0242000 edcbf110 edef0c40 c0687340 c07b4500 May 6 23:48:34 cameleon kernel: [186853.369640] ed1a7110 ed1a7388 c2841600 f020de34 c2841600 3da65686 59b0 ed1a7388 May 6 23:48:34 cameleon kernel: [186853.369640] f020de48 c014ef0a edb53400 f020de50 f020df60 f020de6c c01c440f May 6 23:48:34 cameleon kernel: [186853.369640] Call Trace: May 6 23:48:34 cameleon kernel: [186853.369640] [c015aee3] ? tick_dev_program_event+0x33/0xc0 May 6 23:48:34 cameleon kernel: [186853.369640] [c014ef0a] ? prepare_to_wait+0x3a/0x70 May 6 23:48:34 cameleon kernel:
