[Bug 1667786] Re: Parole 0.9.0 crashes when skipping any video

2017-03-22 Thread Giovanni Caligaris
I just tried to replicate the issue on 0.9.1 and there was no crash.

There is a lag when skipping the video, specially when dragging the
progress bar. Eventually parole will play the video where ever the
dragging was stopped.

2019-01-19 Thread Giovanni Caligaris
I am now running kernel 4.20.2 and I am still getting the same error.
The trackpad freezes for 1 second after I lift my finger up from the
trackpad and try to move it again.

I need to be able to disable power saving on the trackpad so it won't
lag anymore. When a USB mouse is plugged in it works just fine.

2019-01-23 Thread Giovanni Caligaris
I've improved the touchpad response by increasing the maximum amount of
power the laptop uses on battery on TLP.

For those who have TLP installed, change this settings. Is the not best,
but it works a bit better.

#CPU_MIN_PERF_ON_AC=0
CPU_MAX_PERF_ON_AC=100
#CPU_MIN_PERF_ON_BAT=0
CPU_MAX_PERF_ON_BAT=80

then reload the tlp driver or restart the laptop.

sudo tlp start (make sure the laptop is not plugged in)

[Bug 1803881] Re: thermal thermal_zone4: failed to read out thermal zone (-61)

2018-11-19 Thread Giovanni Caligaris
This issue happens with the stock 4.15 kernel. I have upgraded the
kernel to 4.18 and 4.19 and was getting the same issue. I managed to get
rid off the error now. It seems it does not like intel_pstate. I added
intel_pstate=disable to grub and the error has gone away.

[Bug 1824690] Re: proc_thermal flooding dmesg

2019-05-26 Thread Giovanni Caligaris
Hi Colin,

I tried testing your kernel but it fails on every boot, I get initramfs
/proc/cmdline error.

Currently I am now running Ubuntu 19.04 kernel 5.0 and the error
persist. I tried uninstalling thermald but the problem is still there.

I have also installed linux-firmware 1.179, same problem.

How did you patched the kernel, can I do it using dkms?

@colin-king,

I tried your kernel and it works!

Currently I am running linux-generic-hwe-18.04-edge kernel
5.0.0-20-generic and you're version now lags behind.

Can this be integrated onto kernel 5.0?

[Bug 1851935] [NEW] iio-sensor-proxy can't find i2c-BOSC0200:00/iio:device0

2019-11-09 Thread Giovanni Caligaris
Public bug reported:

I have a tablet by ALLDOCUBE iWork10 Pro i15-TD and the orientation of
the screen is wrong. Currently when sitting on landscape it gives me
bottom-up when it should be right-up

$ monitor-sensor
Waiting for iio-sensor-proxy to appear
+++ iio-sensor-proxy appeared
=== Has accelerometer (orientation: bottom-up)
=== No ambient light sensor
Accelerometer orientation changed: bottom-up
Accelerometer orientation changed: right-up
Accelerometer orientation changed: bottom-up

Also, the systemd service has a hard time finding the sensor.

/sys/devices/pci:00/808622C1:02/i2c-2/i2c-BOSC0200:00/iio:device0

I have created file /lib/udev/hwdb.d/61-sensor-local.hwdb

sensor:modalias:acpi:BOSC0200*:dmi*
 ACCEL_MOUNT_MATRIX=1, 0, 0; 0, 1, 0; 0, 0, 1

And have updated after

sudo systemd-hwdb update
sudo udevadm trigger

After running udevadm info -export-db | grep ACCEL it will not find
anything.

Help please.

Is constantly flooding my dmesg. I believe this is also due to missing
audio drivers as well. Which is another issue that I am facing.
