[Bug 1730411] Re: Multiple monitors wallpaper handled as only one big monitor.

2018-05-16 Thread Hans P Möller
lxde also uses openbox and you can put different wallpapers for each
monitor. When you change the wallpaper it only changes the one in which
you have done the right click with the mouse.

[Bug 1730411] Re: Multiple monitors wallpaper handled as only one big monitor.

2018-06-07 Thread Hans P Möller
Apparently this issue also happens in gnome (I haven't used gnome since
2000 and never in 2 monitor environment). In a youtube video they
recommend to use hydra-paper https://github.com/GabMus/HydraPaper/ to
"create" the wallpaper merging the 2 images in one and use this as
wallpaper.

So, maybe the best/simple solution is to include a good wallpaper
manager in lubuntu next.

Here is the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3svfVEiOCBU=329s

[Bug 1773718] Re: mouse ponter disappear after screen off

2018-05-31 Thread Hans P Möller
Hi,
I've seen this problem since I install linux in this computer (2 years ago),
but my workaround was to use the nvidia propietary driver. Now that nvidia stop
developing the 304 driver, I will have to use nouveau.
I installed 4.17.0-041700rc7-generic and the problem still is there. It might
be that I had to wait a couple of minutes more oafter the screen switch off or
suspended, but the problem is still there.

[Bug 1730411] Re: Multiple monitors wallpaper handled as only one big monitor.

2018-08-21 Thread Hans P Möller
I tried all the wallpaper setter that are in ubuntu repositories: Feh, Nitrogen
and Variety. Nitrogen and Feh are able to manage the 2 monitors w/o problems
and variety runs in backround continuously changing wallpaper, and I couldn't
find out how to manage multiple monitors.
The downside is that all of them required to kill "pcmanfm-qt --desktop".

[Bug 1737750] Re: nvidia-graphics-drivers-304 304.137-0ubuntu2 ADT test failure with linux 4.15.0-1.2 [error: implicit declaration of function ‘init_timer’]

2018-08-21 Thread Hans P Möller
The problem here is that nvidia drop maintining 304.x, so they will not update
the 304 driver with the kernel 4.15 standard. Currently there are some patches
that fix the issue but in the future we don't know.
Remember that nvidia304 is propietary and thus w/o nvidia there is no much we
can make but pinning the Kernel so it doesn't update to 4.15 or above.

The other option is to use noveau and help the fix the issues they
currently have with this chips.

2018-04-26 Thread Hans P Möller
I had that same problem in the past and that solved it, and now 3d acceleration
was disabled.
However, when te system is installed the problem doesn't occour (after
installing Bionic and I'm using daily a 17.10).
It also doesn't happen when I use an already existed VM, and boot from it . But
with a knew one it happens, ita happened with Bionica Daily 25.1 too.

The workaround of switching to tty and then back to x still works.

[Bug 1812101] [NEW] libreoffice-kde5 file dialog/picker doesn't add extension automatically

2019-01-16 Thread Hans P Möller
Public bug reported:

Description:
libreoffice-kde5 file dialog doesn't add automatically the file extension which
are important for.docx .xlsx, otherwise the system recognize them as zip.

When removing that package and letting only libreoffice-gtk, extension
are added automatically.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. if isn't installed install libreoffice-kde5 package
2. save a writer document as .docx but doesn't add manually the extension

Actual Results:
file are saved without .docx extension.

Expected Results:
file should be saved with the .docx extension

Additional Info:
Using lubuntu 18.10
Version: 6.1.4.2
Build ID: 1:6.1.4-0ubuntu1
CPU threads: 2; OS: Linux 4.18; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3_kde5;
Locale: es-CL (es_CL.UTF-8); Calc: group threaded

I filed a bug against libreoffice to because I don't know who is
responsible for libreoffice-kde5 package

lubuntu LXQt file saver

Hi Michael,
the problem is in Lubuntu 18.10 which uses LXQt, the checkbox doesn't exist
there (see attachment). In KDE it exists, as you pointed.

Who creates the checkbox? Libreoffice or the filemanager (in kubuntu
dolphin)?

I havent been able to run 6.2 with VCL=kde5, only kde=4. But Olivier could and
had the same issue.

2019-04-03 Thread Hans P Möller
I cannot run apport-collect because when I have this issue I don't have
wifi connectiom. I will try to connect via cable an do apport-collect,
but It will take some time. Giving that 19.04 with Kernel 5 is almost
ready to be delivered, I will change to confirm anyway.

I'm not sure is a dupe of #1821564 because it's a different Kernel (5)
and in 4.19 it works ok, symptoms are very similar though.

Did you try this in lubuntu? it doesn't work in my case. I had to use

@Maurizio, could you test a newer Kernel? 5.1 for example to see if it's
already solved, it is in my case.

[Bug 1841331] [NEW] shortcuts defined in lxqt-panel and lxqt-runner doesn't work at start

2019-08-24 Thread Hans P . Möller
Public bug reported:

In lxqt shortcuts are mostly defined in lxqt-globalkeys, but lxqt-runner and
lxqt-panel also have their own place where they can be defined.
After upgrade from 21aug in eoan (apparently upgrade to 0.14.1-0ubuntu2), for
panel and runner shortcuts defined in their own places stop working and they
need to be restarted to take effect. And when they take effect, if
lxqt-globalkeys is restarted they fail again. Is like there is some specific
order in which they need to be started in order to work ok.

Tested in 3 different installations, 2 VM and 1 real, all of them
installed clean in 19.04 or before.

** Affects: lubuntu-default-settings (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided

If I create a new profile and open falkon with it, the problem with this
profile doesn't happen. But then if I use tho older profile, it happens
again.

but "...add the following immediately preceding the indirect jump at
SUPR0TracerFireProbe..." doesn't is clear enough for me, and also wich is the
best way to "reinstall" virtualbox-dkms w/o a new download that would uno the
changes in the file

[Bug 1948928] [NEW] plasma-discover unable to open temporary cache

2021-10-27 Thread Hans P . Möller
Public bug reported:

When runing plasma-discover it can't open temporary cache and show installed or
available for installation apt package. When running in console output is:
plasma-discover
kf.kirigami: Units.devicePixelRatio is deprecated (since 5.86 ): This returns 1
when using Qt HiDPI scaling.

** (process:19673): CRITICAL **: 08:00:47.395: Unable to open temporary
cache: Unable to open temporary cache file: Permission denied

Running with sudo solve the issue but is not recomended.

This happens in a Kubuntu 21.10 updated from 21.04 in which plasma-discover was
working w/o problems.
Also happens in Lubuntu 21.10 updated from 21.04 in which plasma-discover was
also working.
In both 21.10 installation muon is working w/o problems (w/o need of sudo) so
it doesn't appear to be a cache problem.

[Bug 1893302] Re: SDDM freezes on system boot

2024-02-28 Thread Hans P . Möller
currently testing this, I will update as soon as I have another issue or
when enough time have passed without

create a custom file: snap-apps.sh
In directory ~/.config/plasma-workspace/env
In the file write down:

export XDG_DATA_DIRS="$XDG_DATA_DIRS:/var/lib/snapd/desktop/"

Save the file and make it executable with:
sudo chmod +x snap-apps.sh
