[Bug 1844699] [NEW] The snap plugin is not claiming the desktop id correctly

[Bug 1846000] Re: battery level percentage different with and without power connected to laptop
After testing this a bit more, I noticed that when plugging in the power the battery percentage says 100% for *some period of time* before changing to match the percentage that upower has. The time it takes for the percentage to go from 100%->true% varies anywhere from a second to minutes but it does eventually seem to settle back on the upower reported percentage. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1846000 Title: battery level percentage different with and without power connected to laptop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1846000/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1848554] [NEW] ubi-partman crashes if install updates unchecked and install third party software checked
Public bug reported: The title pretty much sums it up. When installing xubuntu oem, I unchecked the box "Download updates while installing Xubuntu" and checked the box "Install third-party software". [Bug 1848558] [NEW] (intermittent) need to authenticate 3 times before accepted
Public bug reported: When at the terminal, trying to file an issue with ubuntu-bug, I was prompted for authentication. Only after the third try was the password accepted. 1. I entered the password correctly and the authentication window closed and reopened very quickly (no error message that I had entered the password incorrectly). 2. Then I entered a bogus password and the authentication window closed and reopened very quickly (this time with the expected “Your authentication attempt was unsuccessful. Please try again”). 3. Then I entered the correct password again and it was accepted. This happens more often than not, however sometimes I'm not prompted for authentication at all with ubuntu-bug. When I am prompted for authentication, all three tries can be the correct password (no need to have a bogus password entered as one of the tries) and only the third one is accepted. The expected behavior is: 1. Consistency: ubuntu-bug should either always prompt the user for a password or always not 2. Only one entry needed: If ubuntu-bug is going to prompt the user for a password using apport, then the first correct entry should be accepted. [Bug 1797373] Re: 3D slide transitions don't work at all or tear when played + repeat animations don't work
I just tested this on 20.04 with the 6.4.0-0ubuntu3 deb as well as the 6.4.0.3 snap. For each package type, I created one of each of the 8 3D images available, on 8 different slides. I animated two of the images. In both the deb and snap, each 3D image looked fine when in slide show mode and transitioning slides went smoothly. In the case of the snap, the animations played in normal edit mode (max loops) and in slide show mode. Transitioning to and from the slide was smooth. In the case of the deb, the animations did not play in either normal edit mode or in slide show mode. This bug covers two things: the slide transitions + animations. The slide transitions issues seem to be fixed and here is the relevant upstream commit: https://salsa.debian.org/libreoffice- team/libreoffice/libreoffice/commit/f107a8a2aeaa7714a13f80cd807cca0c84519306 However the animations are still broken in the deb. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1797373 Title: 3D slide transitions don't work at all or tear when played + repeat animations don't work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/df-libreoffice/+bug/1797373/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Since you're using the snap, I recommend putting your libreoffice files somewhere in your $HOME directory so that your snap can access them. ** Changed in: libreoffice (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1862855 Title: "file does not exist" for existing files To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1862855/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1862855] Re: "file does not exist" for existing files
Thanks for the report! First off, what version of libreoffice are you using? Your system info says "Package: libreoffice (not installed)". What version is in the libreoffice -> Help -> About libreoffice ? If you're using the deb that is provided in the 19.10 update archives, then that should be 6.3.4-0ubuntu0.19.10.1, and running libreoffice /tmp/testfile.txt should open writer. If you're using the snap, then that is 6.4.0.3 and the snap does not have access to /tmp. Because it's an isolated app package, the snap has access to $HOME and /snap/libreoffice/current. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1862855 Title: "file does not exist" for existing files To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1862855/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1866094] [NEW] Stray B being printed after switching workspaces with wayland
Public bug reported: The problem is that a stray "B" character is being printed to the terminal screen after switching work spaces with the Ctrl+Alt+{Up/Down arrows}. On the first workspace, I have a few applications running (Firefox is focused) On the second workspace I have gnome terminal 3.35.91 running in full screen (F11, so no window boarder) running. I Ctrl+Alt+Up Arrow to switch to the first workspace and do some things in FF and then Ctrl+Alt+Down Arrow to switch back to the second workspace and now see a "B" on the command line. This happens over and over.. I see the capital B on the commandline when I switch to this workspace where the terminal is fullscreened. Some things to note about when this happens: * This only happens with wayland * It happens fairly often but not 100% of the time * The key character created is always a "B" * I've only seen this key character be created on gnome-terminal * There are no journalctl logs generated when this occurs * I have to release the Ctrl+Alt+Up and then do Ctrl+Alt+Down to see the B. (If I keep Ctrl+Alt pressed and then do Up and Down, the B is not generated) * It seems more likely to happen if the first workspace is switched to, spend some time there just clicking things or typing or whatever, and then go back to the second workspace * It only happens if gnome-terminal is full screen'd with F11 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.04 Package: gnome-shell 3.35.91-1ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.4.0-14.17-generic 5.4.18 Uname: Linux 5.4.0-14-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: zfs zunicode zavl icp zcommon znvpair ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu18 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Wed Mar 4 17:24:36 2020 DisplayManager: gdm3 InstallationDate: Installed on 2019-09-13 (172 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 19.04 "Disco Dingo" - Release amd64 (20190416) ProcEnviron: TERM=screen PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR= LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash RelatedPackageVersions: mutter-common 3.35.91-1ubuntu1 SourcePackage: gnome-shell UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to focal on 2020-02-28 (4 days ago) ** Affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug focal wayland-session ** Description changed: - The problem is that a stray character is being printed to the terminal - screen after switching work spaces with the Ctrl+Alt+{Up/Down arrows}. + The problem is that a stray "B" character is being printed to the + terminal screen after switching work spaces with the Ctrl+Alt+{Up/Down + arrows}. [Bug 1864071] [NEW] [SRU] libreoffice 6.3.5 for eoan
Public bug reported: [Impact] * LibreOffice 6.3.5 is in its fifth bugfix release of the 6.3 line. [Test Case] * No specific test case, bugs fixed upstream hopefully come with unit/regression tests, and the release itself is extensively exercised upstream (both in an automated manner and manually) by a community of testers. Each minor release normally goes through two release candidates. * The libreoffice packages include autopkgtests, those should be run and verified to pass. * General smoke testing of all the applications in the office suite should be carried out. [Regression Potential] * A minor release with a total of 84 bug fixes always carries the potential for introducing regressions, even though it is a bugfix-only release, meaning that no new features were added, and no existing features were removed. * A combination of autopkgtests and careful smoke testing as described above should provide reasonable confidence that no regressions sneaked in. ** Affects: libreoffice (Ubuntu) Importance: High Assignee: Heather Ellsworth (hellsworth) Status: New ** Affects: libreoffice (Ubuntu Eoan) Importance: High Assignee: Heather Ellsworth (hellsworth) Status: New ** Tags: verification-needed-eoan ** Also affects: df-libreoffice Importance: Undecided Status: New ** No longer affects: df-libreoffice ** Also affects: libreoffice (Ubuntu Eoan) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: libreoffice (Ubuntu Eoan) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: libreoffice (Ubuntu Eoan) Assignee: (unassigned) => Heather Ellsworth (hellsworth) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1864071 Title: [SRU] libreoffice 6.3.5 for eoan To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1864071/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thanks for reporting your issue with the libreoffice snap. [Bug 1863282] Re: libreoffice menu bar disappeared
Thanks for the report! I was able to reproduce the missing menu bar in libreoffice on a kde neon 5.18.0 system if I installed libreoffice-kde and/or libreoffice- kde4 (libreoffice-kde depends on libreoffice-kde4). If either/both of these are installed, then you will not have a menu bar in libreoffice. My guess is this is because your plasma version is 5 when you're installing libreoffice-kde4. In 19.10, we provide libreoffice-kde5 and I bet this would work but I can't test it because if you update your repos to point to eoan instead of bionic and go to install libreoffice-kde5, it will remove the neon-desktop. Also, since kde neon is based on Ubuntu LTS only, there is no 19.10 version to try. So for now, I recommend installing libreoffice (do not install libreoffice-kde/libreoffice-kde4): $ sudo apt install libreoffice Yes, this does install libreoffice-gnome and libreoffice-gtk3, but that should not conflict with anything you are doing. The next Ubuntu LTS is 20.04, due in April, and I would expect this issue to go away with libreoffice-kde5 in the kde neon image based on 20.04. So I'll leave this bug open until that is confirmed. ** Changed in: libreoffice (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Changed in: libreoffice (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Heather Ellsworth (hellsworth) ** Changed in: libreoffice (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1863282 Title: libreoffice menu bar disappeared To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1863282/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1871067] Re: libreoffice doesn't start
Ok so sounds like you did a fresh install of 20.04 and then launched libreoffice (should be installed just fine ith a non-minimal install like you did). Perhaps something went wrong with your install, but everything went find for your VM install. Could you please provide the journalctl output from running the libreoffice command: 1. (terminal 1) setup file to capture the output: `script -f journalctl-output.txt` 2. (terminal 1) start watching journalctl: `sudo journalctl -f` 3. (terminal 2) start libreoffice from the cli: `libreoffice` 4. if i understand correctly, no libreoffice appears and the stdout in terminal 2 is empty 5. (terminal 2) kill your libreoffice command with `Ctrl+C` if it seems hung 6. (terminal 1) kill your journalctl tail with `Ctrl+C` 7. (terminal 1) quit capturing the stdout in a file: `exit` Please provide that journalctl-output.txt file so I might have a look at the logs. Also you said that sometimes you get a white square in the center of your screen when you launch libreoffice.. is this when you launch it with the command line or with the icon? Well all of the libreoffice apparmor lines for the deb look normal. But then there are a TON of snap.discord.discord denied apparmor messages, a couple of them point to libreoffice: Apr 06 19:08:48 pellenor audit[534568]: AVC apparmor="DENIED" operation="ptrace" profile="snap.discord.discord" pid=534568 comm="Discord" requested_mask="read" denied_mask="read" peer="libreoffice-oopslash" Apr 06 19:08:48 pellenor audit[534568]: AVC apparmor="DENIED" operation="ptrace" profile="snap.discord.discord" pid=534568 comm="Discord" requested_mask="read" denied_mask="read" peer="libreoffice-soffice" My guess is that somehow your discord snap is interfering with libreoffice displaying. [Bug 1874285] [NEW] [SRU] libreoffice 6.4.3 for focal
Public bug reported: [Impact] * LibreOffice 6.4.3 is in its third bugfix release of the 6.4 line. For a list of fixed bugs compared to 6.4.3 see the list of bugs fixed in the two release candidates: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Releases/6.4.3/RC1#List_of_fixed_bugs https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Releases/6.4.3/RC2#List_of_fixed_bugs (that's a total of 58 bugs) * Given the nature of the project, the complexity of the codebase and the high level of quality assurance upstream, it is preferable to SRU a minor release rather than cherry-pick selected bug fixes. [Regression Potential] * A minor release with a total of 58 bug fixes always carries the potential for introducing regressions, even though it is a bugfix-only release, meaning that no new features were added, and no existing features were removed. * A combination of autopkgtests and careful smoke testing as described above should provide reasonable confidence that no regressions sneaked in. ** Affects: libreoffice (Ubuntu) Importance: High Assignee: Heather Ellsworth (hellsworth) Status: In Progress ** Affects: libreoffice (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: High Assignee: Heather Ellsworth (hellsworth) Status: In Progress ** Changed in: libreoffice (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Heather Ellsworth (hellsworth) ** Changed in: libreoffice (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High ** Also affects: libreoffice (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: High Assignee: Heather Ellsworth (hellsworth) Status: New ** Changed in: libreoffice (Ubuntu Focal) Status: New => In Progress -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1874285 Title: [SRU] libreoffice 6.4.3 for focal To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1874285/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1900445] Re: LibreOffice 7 Writer and Calc crash when creating new or opening documents
Hmm it sounds like something went wrong with the update. Could you please just try to uninstall all libreoffice packages and then install LO7 from the ppa? 1. Remove the current libreoffice install $ sudo apt-get remove --purge libreoffice* 2. Add the ppa and make sure that the libreoffice 7.0 is what is going to be installed (whatever is to be installed will be the top entry of apt policy) $ apt policy libreoffice 3. Install libreoffice and try to run it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1900445 Title: LibreOffice 7 Writer and Calc crash when creating new or opening documents To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1900445/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1900454] Re: Calc doesn't recalculate formulas on cell content changes
It seems that this bug was already reported upstream (https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=137248) and has been reported as fixed with a target for the 7.1.0 release. We can still leave this bug open though to verify it's fix when 7.1.0 is released. ** Bug watch added: Document Foundation Bugzilla #137248 https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=137248 ** Tags removed: rls-gg-incoming ** Changed in: libreoffice (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Fix Committed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1900454 Title: Calc doesn't recalculate formulas on cell content changes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/df-libreoffice/+bug/1900454/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1892783] [NEW] [SRU] libreoffice 6.4.6 for focal
Public bug reported: [Impact] * LibreOffice 6.4.6 is in its sixth bugfix release of the 6.4 line. Version 6.4.5 is currently in focal. For a list of fixed bugs compared to 6.4.5 see the list of bugs fixed in the two release candidates: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Releases/6.4.5/RC1#List_of_fixed_bugs https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Releases/6.4.5/RC2#List_of_fixed_bugs (that's a total of 106 bugs) * Given the nature of the project, the complexity of the codebase and the high level of quality assurance upstream, it is preferable to SRU a minor release rather than cherry-pick selected bug fixes. [Regression Potential] * A minor release with a total of 106 bug fixes always carries the potential for introducing regressions, even though it is a bugfix-only release, meaning that no new features were added, and no existing features were removed. * A combination of autopkgtests and careful smoke testing as described above should provide reasonable confidence that no regressions sneaked in. ** Affects: libreoffice (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1892783 Title: [SRU] libreoffice 6.4.6 for focal To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1892783/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
