[Bug 390683] Re: Install progress report window shouldn't resize
The same happens inside KPackagekit when doing an update. The progress windows keeps resizing itself continually. It gets bigger or smaller depending on the package it is updating. That leaves a very bad and flaky impression. -- Install progress report window shouldn't resize https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/390683 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 64841] Re: wireless assisant does not connect in edgy
Confirmed here. I must add that it eventually works : Just fire up WLAssistant and connect. It will say connection error. Just let it be. After a while you'll be connected. Weird. I'm also concerned that this bug doesn't have a priority assigned yet. It is a MAJOR bug for laptop people! -- wireless assisant does not connect in edgy https://launchpad.net/bugs/64841 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 40754] Re: hyundai b71a monitor screen resolution and instability
I'm still on Feisty so I can't tell. But I finally got it working on Feisty. xorg.conf attached. The installed drivers are nvidia-glx-new 1.0.9755+2.6.20.5-16.29 Can someone confirm that this xorg.conf works? it doesn't have any EDIC, ESID hacks at all. ** Attachment added: "xorg.conf" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10205718/xorg.conf -- hyundai b71a monitor screen resolution and instability https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/40754 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 40754] Re: hyundai b71a monitor screen resolution and instability
Andrew: the nv diver works perfectly on edgy and feisty. Resolutions all the way up to 1280x1024. The problem is with the binary nvidia drivers AND DVI output with the L70A TFT monitor. Using analog VGA output works. Apparently somewhere a year and a half ago nvidia altered their EDIC algorithms and it stopped working. I have found a workaround at the German forums: http://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/63875/ Sadly the solution is for Edgy, and in feisty it doesn't work... again. This is not a ubuntu-specific issue (maybe a debian issue though), but we could maybe arrive at a solution somehow. -- hyundai b71a monitor screen resolution and instability https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/40754 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 40754] Hyundai L70A
I can confirm this bug, a show-stopper for those affected. I have a Hyundai ImageQuest L70A TFT. Native resolution is 1280x1024. In Dapper, the nv driver works (both with a Geforce4200Ti at first, then upgraded to a Geforce6600GT), but the nvidia 3D driver doesn't. You get a 1024x768 resolution. I tried hard to solve it with help in the forums, deactivating ESID and such, but nothing worked. One can live without 3D acceleration though. I did a clean install of Edgy with xorg 7.1, and it got worse. Limited to 1024x768 even using default nv driver (and already when booting from the live CD). Running dpkg-reconfigure xserver-org didn't help in Dapper, and in Edgy it shows a completely screwed layout. I'm looking at the nvidia solution with modelines. But the exact VxH sync specs of my old L70A are hard to come by. I'll post if I find a solution. I just want to say that the nv driver should always work, so this is a show stopper for me. ** Description changed: whilst installing ubuntu 6.06 beta (april 20th version) my monitor goes on and off randomly. once installed the max resolution is set at 1024x768 even though it supports 1280x1024. when I reconfigure x (after updating system)and then restart x, the monitor issues a message stating 'video mode not supported.' this problem is not unique to ubuntu. + + The resolution limit also happens with a Hyundai L70A and Edgy, no other + image problems though. -- hyundai b71a monitor screen resolution and instability https://launchpad.net/bugs/40754 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 390683] Re: Install progress report window shouldn't resize
Hi, well, obviously there have been a lot of changes since then in the KPackagekit department. On my Maverick desktop the issue is gone, and the update progress window doesn't dance around any more: it has a fixed width. I did not test the ubiquity installation, as that involves actually starting to install Kubuntu, i.e. formatting a partition ;-) So to conclude I would say that the issue is fixed, but some one should test the live-cd installation to confirm it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/390683 Title: Install progress report window shouldn't resize -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
