[Bug 261554] [NEW] Synaptic keeps asking ti install a package already installed (mercury-messenger)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: synaptic I tried to install mercury-messenger, first manually downloading the package. Next I noticed that there was a new version and a repository (http://jgoguen.ca/repo mercury release pre-release) so I added them to my sources.list (completed with key). In a while, an icon appeared to warn me that a new version was available (true) and to ask if I wanted to update. I answered yes, and it downloaded the package and installed (?) it. But, suddenly, it looped back to open the warn icon again, I answered yes again, and then again and again, and again, to no avail. If I try to close synaptic, after the update it complains that an update is to be completed and are you sure you want to close?. The package is actually installed, but the sign remains. Instead, if I open the imap folder with another working imap mail browser as thunderbird the emails marked as read with evolution are still unread. Closing evolution some of them are updated and marked as read but not all of them. More informations about the reported bug, as required. 1 - Yes It's reproducible. I tried with different instances of Ubuntu 8.10 (32 and amd 64) and the bug It's always present. I thought the trick could be on the server dovecot and so I tried with gmail but It's just the same. 2- How to recreate the bug. -Configure Evolution for an imap account on gmail. You must have unread mail on your IMAP forlder. - Run Evolution Mark some mails as read and try to read other Open your internet explorer and open your gmail account. The read emails are still unread. Close Evolution. Update your view on gmail forlder: sometime some emails appear as read If you try the same test path with thunderbird you will see that te read status is immediately updated . 3- Jaunty I could installa jaunty and try maybe next week. Public bug reported: This is the fourth time I've tried installing Ubuntu 13.10 along-side Mavericks (Mac OS X). I installed rEFInd boot manager in Mavericks, then loeaded Ubuntu 13.10 from a USB stickand tried installing. This is the error message: The grub-efi-amd64-signed' package failed to install into /target/. Without the GRUB boot loader, the installed system will not boot. Trying to install rEFInd boot manager from Ubuntu, as suggested by Roderick W. Smith.. Any help is more than welcome. Hi, sometimes it happens also on my device but I'm not able to reproduce the error. Moving to a non covered area and move back again on signal 3G the cellular data worked fine, in 2 attempts made yesterday A similar problem happens also at home, after long inactivity period the connection is lost (also here only sometimes, not understood how the long inactivity is, today around 2 hours, yesterday longer). I disconnect mobile data and connect again to fix it. (qemu-kvm 1.2 libvirt 0.9.13) After that i can run kvm virtual machines. Hi Serge, i made a snapshot after disabling apparmor and it works! ok, i found the problem gnome-orca needs to be started in a gnome-session with accessibility feature enabled. ihmo ubuntu shouldn't have a gnome with accessibilty feature enabled, but probably this should be documented somewhere.
