[Bug 1615612] Re: systemd-inhibit authentication ignored by suspend request

2018-09-10 Thread Theo Linkspfeifer
I have checked the Xfce bug tracker and found this report:

It describes the issue with the bad positioning of the authentication
window.

So, the problem in 18.04 is that the restart/logout/suspend dialog
remains visible/glitched after initiating the suspend process, correct?

[Bug 1054299] Re: Race condition in suspend scripts reveals desktop

2018-09-10 Thread Theo Linkspfeifer
Jarno, would you be able to contribute a patch to improve the
functionality?

This is a long-standing issue and still not fully fixed. The upstream
developers may not be aware of its severity.

[Bug 1782445] Re: xfce4-terminal doesn't search icons in XDG_DATA_DIRS

2018-09-12 Thread Theo Linkspfeifer
Ideally, the package maintainer would do it after confirming the bug, or
ask the reporter to forward it upstream in case more information or
feedback is required. I assume that this was not done due to the Xubuntu
team being short-handed.

Nevertheless, opening an upstream report is in most cases the best
choice (unless it is a packaging issue or some Ubuntu specific problem).

When you manually lock the screen with light-locker it will switch to

[Bug 1797079] Re: system goes to sleep after locking screen and closing lid

2018-10-12 Thread Theo Linkspfeifer
Sadly, there are no plans to change how light-locker works, so this will
remain a known limitation.

The Xubuntu devs are currently creating a screen locker for the Xfce
project (xfce4-screensaver). It will not rely on VT switching while
still offering a nice look and feel. Future Xubuntu and Ubuntu Studio
releases will most likely use this new locker instead.

[Bug 1797032] Re: xubuntu 18.10 daily x86 - suspend, on wake i have no mouse-pointer (nvidia/nouveau)

2018-10-13 Thread Theo Linkspfeifer
The conclusion seems to be that having light-locker or xscreensaver
enabled is a way to prevent this glitch from occurring.

I think it would be best to contact the 'nouveau' driver devs and ask
them how to further debug this issue.
