[Bug 290249] [NEW] failsafe xorg asks what to do after telling it already
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg Intrepid RC, 8600GT. I had a date with the xorg failsafe dialog today, it asked me what should we do. I suggested that we should restore the working configuration, which I think she did. However then she asked me the same thing... I can confirm that Silviu Julean's latest test case did work for me. I can also confirm that Nick B.'s suggestion solved it! Both the test case, and the 'http://www.themareks.com/xf/conspiracy.shtml' link go through just fine. Please fix soon, as this isn't nvidia problem, and it's best fixed before it hits the media. ** Attachment added: unnamed http://launchpadlibrarian.net/13975752/unnamed -- [nvidia-new] a visit to http://www.themareks.com/xf/ in firefox hardy causes X to restart https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/212648 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 197811] Re: Ubuntu starts in low graphics mode
Hey man, Looks like your drivers are a bit messed up, that's why ubuntu is defaulting to the lowest, but safest setting. To fix this, try installing envy: http://albertomilone.com/ubuntu/nvidia/scripts/legacy/envy_0.9.10-0ubuntu4_all.deb After you got it installed, go to Applications - System tools - envy. Tell it to install the latest ATI driver, be patient while it works it's magic, and then let it save changes and reboot. Let me know how it goes for you. PS. You should use forums.ubuntu.com next time for asking questions like these. This isn't really a bug. -- Ubuntu starts in low graphics mode https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/197811 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 197647] Re: /home/pokkets/.cache/tracker is 587.6 MB
Just to let you know, that size is fine. I had Google Desktop having a 1GB cache before too. Re: [Bug 22007] Re: no 'Settings' button in gnome-screensaver
It is open-source already. Perhaps we could have a note on the wallpaper saying: Please note: Ubuntu is not yet installed on your computer, and any changes made here will be lost upon reboot. Re: [Bug 22007] Re: no 'Settings' button in gnome-screensaver
Oh. Well, I thought it was open-source since there's no visible license, hence, it's in the public domain - and that means freely distributable. Here's what the xfx said to me a while ago: That's great! If you have the means, please, feel free to redistribute your 64bit binary version of the program. So, the means here would be the repositories, and since we have them, we're free to distribute the program. Unless proper license info becomes available, it can't be accepted into the Ubuntu repositories. -- no 'Settings' button in gnome-screensaver https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/22007 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of the bug. -- no 'Settings' button in gnome-screensaver https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/22007 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 137492] Re: Not obvious session is live from CD
I responded there, but it said my comment is being held for moderation. Just to correct the previous note (somehow my email didn't get through), it should be this: Please note: Ubuntu is not yet installed on your computer, thus any changes made here will be lost upon reboot. To install Ubuntu, double- click on the Install icon.
